So, I was thinking; "I don't draw enough... and I always here people going, 'I used to draw, and be DAMN GOOD too, but then I just stopped...' So, I should draw." So I drew a picture.  I think it's alright. I am a batman fan anyways, and I figure everyone else is drawing batgirl. So I should too! biggrin Anyways. This is 2 batgirls mashed together. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK! (I know the arms are a little long, but I was drawing on a stool, so it was ROUGH.) Discuss: ways to stay inspired.

i think the torso is a little short. otherwise i really like the style, especially in the FACE. (:

Your anatomy is fairly well placed, albeit very stylised; and the pose is full of life, but I think the work is lacking a certain something. For one thing, there are no folds on any of the material, anywhere...Which makes me think she's nude...But then again, she doesn't have nipples? The skull shape is also difficult to believe, but I suppose she has a mask on, so I'm not sure. And how come only three fingers?
Overall I think you're selling yourself a bit short with the simplicity of this work, there's only so far 'style' can carry a piece.
PS, I don't think the arms are too long at all!

Well, three fingers because I think a three fingered hand works just as well as a four finger hand, and I quite enjoy the look. But since art is probably going to have to be my career because I suck at everything else, I will look into fixing my hands up :b Skull shape? Whats wrong with the shape of her head? And normaly I do cloths foldings, but superheros where spandex, and if you look at any comic books, 95% of the artists, just pretty much paint naked peopel. Although, I know what you mean. And there are a bunch of details that are kinda' invisable, since I don't know how to work a scaner. The picture DOES look better when it's sitting in front of you. But it's no ones fault but mine that it worked out like that. All in all I would have to agree. This picture is lacking detail to be "realistic" and has too much detail to be realy cartoony. I am still working out style, and it's good hearing what you had to say. I will try to have somthing up soon, so you can see where I drove your advise. mrgreen (and I am a strong beliver that 'style' is 85% of all good art. Without style, what do ya' got? A low quality photo.)

Be a real man! and I like the art, somehow sketching it in those semi-nice coloured pencils always makes it look nice. O:

And yah, they look more interesting smile

The join from the skull to the neck was bothering me, but then I did the pose myself in the mirror and have revised my opinion. I think I just draw thicker necks than the average. eek And I hear you on the scanner woes issue. It's really just the cape that's bothering me at this stage, but I suppose there are clutter issues to be taken into account there too.
