Okay I know the idea is nothing new. It's been tossed around since the games first came out. But I bothered to go through my old sketchbooks and found a little concept sketch of what I thought the grass evolution of eevee might look like. So today I redrew him, and I feel like showing to you all. I have namd it Phylleon, a play on chlorophyll. I like the name, but I'm open to improvements if you think the name needs work.
So here he is: *new edit* As no one seems to be going into my journal I'm just going to copy and paste the back story here:My phylleon is not a natural pokemon. It was created by scientists working for Team Rocket, which is always interested in new and rare pokemon. Phylleon is the final product of over 2 years of research and experimenting in which dozens of eevees were killed, either through the experimenting process itself or for being deemed useless after being transformed. This phylleon was rescued by a trainer who infiltrated a Team Rocket facility after some of her own pokemon were stolen. As determined as she was to get her own pokemon out, the trainer just couldn't leave the shivering little darling to cower in his cage for eternity. She and a fellow trainer who followed her, thinking she was nuts in her attempt to storm a Rocket Lab, caused enough chaos to retrieve the Phylleon as well as her own pokemon and a few others. The other pokemon were turned into the police, and legitimate scientists wanted to study the rescued phylleon but after a life in a Rocket Lab it was terrified of scientists. Naturally the trainer's heart fluttered at the poor phylleon's distress. Hey, it's cute and fluffy, what's a girl to do? Anyways she kept it, much to the scientists protests, but you don't argue with a girl who just took on Team Rocket and came out on top. If she doesn't kick your a**, public opinion will. She can't use phylleon for fighting, it's much to timid and completely inexperianced in general, regardless of the actual moves it can perform. Phylleon is with her primarily as a pet. There may be more phylleon in existence or the rescued phylleon may be one of a kind. No one knows except Team Rocket. And they're certainly not telling.and finally in the edit, a finished version of Phylleon.

Is it so very wrong that, purist though I am...
...I DESPERATELY want to cuddle that thing, if it were to actually exist in the universe? I can see a bit of Espeon influence in it (ears especially); more of a flareon tail (...well, a green one), nice patterning... it really smacks of eeveelution.
...Ah, well. Maybe when D+P come out.

Aw, sorry to disrupt your purity...but I have a couple fan pokemon I've made and I'm so attached to this one. Glad you think he's cute. whee Funny enough I never meant this little guy to be a normal pokemon that one could acheive. My background story for him had him created by Team Rocket scientists because they too, wondered if eevee could evolve into a grass type. sweatdrop
As for him looking like some of the other eeveelutions, well, don't they all have shared qualities anyways? I can take any two and point out at least three similar features.

Tennyo_Oujo As for him looking like some of the other eeveelutions, well, don't they all have shared qualities anyways? I can take any two and point out at least three similar features. Very much so. Eeveelutions tend to have a distinct style of body and face; but there's usually a singular thing or two that really makes them recognizable--coloring aside.

Aww! It's so adorable. I rather like the current list of Eeveelutions, but I'm always up for more *total eevee fanatic* and...well, it's adorable! And it fits right in with the rest of them nicely, too.

Yay, people like it. heart Don't suppose anyone read the history in my journal yet though. Ah well. Enishi-san: Leafeon? >.<*
And Golem I think there's enough about Phylleon to make it unique. The red-purple growths (used for vine whips, ingrain, etc like chikorita's are) are not similar in size or placement, (forehead, one above each paw, and then five around the neck) or usage to the massive rings that light up on Umbreon. And they're not jewels like on the forehead of Espeon. But it's the ears I like the most. I think Vaporeon with it's ear fins is the only other evolution with ears that are usable for something other than hearing. Phylleon's ears are covered in those tiny leaves that make them extra special usefull, allowing the grass type to do what all grass types do: harness solar energy. They also secrete the powders. And to top it all off, Phylleon isn't that big. It's only about 150% the size of an eevee, making it a dwarf in comparison to the other evolutions. The cause of it's origins no doubt, but also to keep it chibi and kawaii. heart
And in case you couldn't tell I put WAY too much thought into this thing. sweatdrop

Very cute. 3nodding Maybe it should have a band of leaves around it's neck? (like the original evee evolutions?) It's adorable even without a band though.
I used to love making pokemon. It was so much fun. I don't do it anymore because I'm just to lazy. D:
I remeber when I first learned about pokemon. I made my own cards, but they were gigantic. I used up an entire printer page just to make one. And they weren't even that good. One was a tornado with eyes. rofl

Enishi-san XD we were 13. COME ON, give us a break. XD I forgive you. But only because when I first made this little guy I named him clovereon...and he looks nothing like a clover. sweatdrop And I while I would LOVE Phylleon in the games, I also really don't want him in the games, because it means I would have to share. He's mine, I tell you, all mine! gonk *cuddles*

As a drawing? Adorable whee As a Pokemon, I'm not so sure. The ears may be too detailed as well as the spots on it. Still cute though 3nodding

That's so cute! It makes me almost wish it were real, even though I feel like Eevee already has enough evolutions. xd
