This is sort of a temporary thread. I don't want to do anything too elaborate because I don't have the time just yet. I just wanted to get my thread up, and let people know that I would dearly love to come the Island of Dr. Moreau. And this- This is Finn. He's who I would bring to the Island.
Name: Finnegan Michael Monroe
Age: 20
Date of Birth: 06-22-1986
Signs: Gemini/Tiger
Occupation: Psychology Major College Student
Background: Finn comes from a broken home. His mother left when he was ten, taking with her the only person Finn was ever really, truly attached to- his young brother, Joel. Finn didnt know then, and still doesnt know, why exactly his mother left. But, forced to grow up with a father who cared but just didnt have enough time, Finn fell into a pattern. Convinced that his mother had taken his brother because he himself wasnt good enough, young Finn became obsessive with doing things evenly, and correct. Eventually, it led into the development of a fairly severe case of OCD {Obsessive-compulsive disorder}, mostly centering around symmetry and perfection.
In his sophomore year of high school, he was shuffled into the class of psychology. It was love at first sight, and Finn finally knew what he wanted to do. He learned quickly, and was interested in school for the first time in a long time. He went through the rest of high school with good grades, if not an ideal home life. He passed his college entrance exams with flying colors, and is now in his second year of high learning, and is working towards his first degree in psychology.
But Finn isn't from a rich family, and as such is working several minimum-wage, part-time jobs in order to support himself, and pay his student loan bills. And thus enters the opportunity to become involved in Dr. Moreau's Island. Having applied for several abroad trips to expand his knowledge of the world, Finn was chosen by the Moreau Corporation to see what it would take to be an on-staff psychologist at a company of this size.
Personality: Finn is, in a nutshell, a sarcastic, aloof, somewhat arrogant college student whos been told hes smart one too many times. Although hes fairly down to earth, he has a slightly high opinion of himself. Finn is a generally good person, though he certainly is quick to mar sarcastic, sometimes harmful comments. To him, it's just witty commentary, and he doesn't realize that he could be hurting other people.
But he is a genuniely good person. He wants to become a psychologist so that he can help others through hard times, since the help he needed hadn't been made avaiable to him.
Apperance: He has pitch black hair, which is slightly too long, and his bands droop down into his gray-based hazel colored eyes. He has a handsome enough face, though nothing to swoon over. He's of medium height, standing at about 5'9", though he might be a bit on the scrawny side when it comes to his build. He's all lean muscle and sinew, but he just can't seem to add on any bulk. Not from lack of trying or eating though, that's for sure.
He generally wears jeans and black pants, matched with witty or trendy t-shirts, along with black or white high tops. He's not a flashy dresser, though he does love acessories. Particularly scarves. He's rather fond of a scarf that has piano keys all along it, and wears it quite a bit, regaurdless of the weather.
Other: He hates television, but loves his computer. He adores reading, and has been known to read a bodice-ripper or two every now and then, though generally he doesn't have the time to read between his jobs and school work. If he had the time, he'd run track. He has no real talent as far as music or math goes. Psychology and writing are his passions, even if he's really only good at one of them.
