Lasreaine had watched the chior and band go up with some interest, but it bothered her to no end that there were no strings. Orchestras were always under-represented in lower educational institutes and it had always rubbed her raw, in her opinion they were much better than any old band. (Elitist? Maybe. But it is all in good fun, a long-running joke between the different groups of musicians. Violas, after all, have the smallest heads of all the stringed instruments, they have to be with all the jokes about them.)

As that was the case, Lasreaine, a violist forever, set about the church posting little pieces of paper advertizing the beginnings of a string ensemble in attempt to rally at least three of her fellow string players about her. An odd campaign, but one she undertook with a type of religious fervor rarely seen in her eyes. No one would forget the orchestras, she'd make sure of that.

This was Las's way of getting to play some nice quartet music that one rarely heard. They would never any marches, Las was sure of that. She hated those with a passion. While it would be fun to join with th band for some things, there probably weren't enough string players to form much more than a quartet.

Even if she was the only string player in the group she would play on. It was too much to hope for another viola, but Las really wished for a cello (though she would be grateful even to see a violin) as she sat and waited in her newly aquired room.

Have I done something wrong? I'm sorry, I won't do this anymore, perhaps. I just thought it would be amusing, most people in my high school and college find the rivalry between music groups entertaining. I'm sorry. If a mod of the guild has a problem with this, please just delete it, and stop messing with my posts, it isn't very nice. I don't know what happened, but you killed what I wrote, and I hadn't done anything that needed deleting as far as I can tell.

Watching the fairy's movements Las tried to get a good look at the speaker. Shaking he head to clear her eyes Las decided to focus on her wings. "Well I suppose, but I don't have an instrument that is small enough for you. I'm not sure that you could lift anyt of the instruments." A fairy! Did they grow? Las knew nothing about them, really. Perhaps she could shrink whatever she wanted to play down to her size, though that would make it hard to teach her.

"Three feet only? I don't suppose you could manage to shrink a violin? Even the smallest may be too large, I fear." Suddenly struck by a grand idea Las let out a little gasp, "Unless, of course, we treat it like a cello! You would still be playing the violin, of course, just upside down. Would that be acceptable?"

"That would be best, I think. Okay, here we are!" Rummaging through various cases Las finally picked up a small black, fitted case that contained a pretty red violin. "This one should be nice, it was made in Germany about a century ago."
