Kayne walked down the hall with his soccer ball tucked under his arm. Without his usual routine at the dojo he decided it was time to get back into his original first love: soccer. Stopping at Ra's door he knocked on it. He hoped he would be available. Kayne wasn't feeling much like being alone, but was sick of people who talked too much.

Ra jumped at the offer to get out of the room and went to get changed. As they made their way down to field Ra noticed that Kayne's mood was the same as it had been in the cafe. There was something not right and he was positive it wasn't to do with Cirrus.
"How are your war wounds?" He asked as they stopped on the field, waiting for Kayne to pass him the ball.

Kayne dropped the ball to the ground and dribbled it a bit before kicking it a little gentler than he usually did to Ra.
"Healing ever so slowly. I would have been alright if that b*****d ex of hers hadn't decided to get his little gang to join in. Four to one just aren't good odds. But you should have seen it Kusani," he smirked, "Once I levelled Aine's ex it was all over. The other guys just hightailed it. I've never seen a sorrier lot. It was really quite pathetic." He said as he placed his hands on his hips and waited for Ra to return the kick. "I'm just glad there weren't more of them, or that they weren't better fighters."

Ra smirked listening to Kayne's account, trapping the ball he laughed and kicked it back. "Looks like your lessons paid off then." He said recieving the ball again and tapping it back. "That's the thing with bullies though. They are like vampires in the movies. Bring the leader down and they'll all explode."

Kayne laughed as he volleyed the ball back to Ra. "So right," he agreed as the ball came back to him. They kicked the ball around a few more times before Kayne sent it back to Ra and decided he should ask about Chii. It was only right. He had been the one to light the fuse.
"Not to bring up a sore subject or anything, but have you and your girlfriend talked at all since that night?" he asked, trapping the ball and sending it back to Ra. He really hoped that Ra wouldn't get upset with him for asking.

"Not yet." Ra said once again trapping the ball and returning it. "I'm working on it though." He said with a smile. "Giving her some time to think, whilst I pretend I'm not going to be easy and forgive her right away." He shook his head, wishing it wasn't necessary to do the whole mind games thing.
"How about you? Who's this girl who has you moping almost as bad as me?" He asked his eyes searching Kayne's for a flicker of anything. "I don't know how you have time personally, what with all the training you do of an evening."

Kayne trapped the ball under his foot and hesistated a moment before sending it back to Ra, maybe a little harder than he had meant to.
"As I said... training's been cancelled for now. And who said anything about a girl making me mope? I'm not moping," Kayne said, trapping the ball again and giving Ra a look, raising an eyebrow before sending the ball back to him.

"Pull the other one Kayne." Ra said keeping his eyes on his. "You did, the other day in the courtyard. Said you were having girl problems, that it wasn't just your sister." He paused and thought back to the converation. "That Aine girl maybe? Although you didn't seem too fussed about her." Ra trapped the ball again, returned his raised eyebrow and smirked. "And despite what you think, you are moping. Well, you are definitely not being yourself."

"Yeah? What of it?" Kayne smirked back at Ra. "I'm not all sunshine and rainbows you know." He thought back to the other day. Had he said he was having girl problems other than with his sister? Maybe he had implied it.
"Well... whatever I may or may not have said, Cirrus is definitely the root of all my problems," Kayne said without really thinking his answer through.

"Oh really?" Ra said with a slight yawn. The monotony of kicking the ball was begining to get to him. "Look, I'm gonna stop being cryptic about this." He said trapping the ball and kicking it back a bit harder than before. "There's obviously something up. I'm just offering to listen if you need to talk." He sniffed and shrugged a little. "You can trust me with whatever it is." He continued keeping his stormy grey eyes on Kayne's. "I don't speak remember, I'm not likely to broadcast your problems over campus."

Kayne returned the ball just a bit harder than Ra had then dropped down to sit on the grass. He wanted to tell Ra. Keeping it all to himself was pure torture, but he didn't want to hurt Jess. Pulling his legs up to his chest and wrapping his arms around them, Kayen stared off across the field as he thought about what he could say.
"Yeah... I know Kusani," he said softly, looking back up to Ra. "It's just... my girl problems are beyond complicated. I don't wanna dump it all on you man."

Ra picked up the ball and joined him on the floor, placing the ball in his lap and leaning on it. "Try me." Ra said picking some grass out of the ground. "I'm your friend, you're allowed to dump stuff one me. You never know when I might need to return the favour." He smiled a little and looked up. "Seriously though mate, if keeping it bottled up is making you feel bad, maybe talking will help."
Another pause as he went over what he had said in his head. "Heh, advice from shrink Kusani again."

Kayne laughed lightly and reached down to pick a blade of grass. Where to begin and how much should he tell? He stared at the blade of grass between his fingers as he twirled it around.
"It's just... that... I've fallen in love with someone, but she... can't love me back." There. He said it. If he was lucky, Ra would think it was a student or something and he'd just let him think that.

Ra wasn't shocked by the admition. Or maybe he was. Hearing the word love coming from Kayne's mouth and not being attatched to his sister seemed strange.
"Why can't she love you back?" He asked picking some more grass from the ground. "Does she come from a strickt background or something?" He said bringing up one of the few reasons he could think of, one that was close to home.

He should have known Ra wouldn't make it that easy. The boy had a mind like a steel trap and always seemed to ask such specific questions. Then why the hell could he never get his jokes, Kayne wondered with a smirk.
"Nah... It's not like that. It's much more complicated than that," he replied and glued his eyes down to the patch of grass between his feet. He took a deep breath and turned his eyes back up to Ra's, all humor had vacated them completely. "Much more complicated," he said meaningfully, holding Ra's eyes with his.
