True Begginners Start:

Meditation:
My favorite way of meditation is simple;
Get into a comfortable position, tense up every muscle in your body, and slowly relax it away.
including your face, back, neck, jaw, eyes and anything you can think of.(martial arts or yoga stretches may help beforehand.)
Once you're in that nice comfortable position of your choosing; slowly breath in and count to four then hold and count to three, breath out and count to four...
in breath... 1...2...3...4...
hold...1...2...3...
out breath...1...2...3...4...
hold...
in breath... 1...2...3...4..
.hold...1...2...3...
out breath...1...2...3...4...
Focus on that and nothing else, comepletely clear your mind of every little thing, not even a song stuck in your head, just total blankness but don't force it and it may take a little time, if you have trouble just remember to relax and let every little thaught slowly going away.
Once you've attained that blankness try feeling your energy, or talking with your subconcious, do anything you feel that will be natural once in this state of mind.
One important thing to do to get energy is Grounding;
while in meditation, imagine roots coming out of you, or an umbilical cord coming out of your belly button, imagine one of the two or anything you'd like, growing out of you slowly, Don't force it let it happen, visualize it, imagine it growing out of you going slowly down into the ground, deep into the the earth, until it goes into the center of the earth's core, then imagine it sucking energy out of the earth's core and into your body, filling you with glorious rich earth energy, while doing this try to imagine all the negetivity coming out of your fingers and toes, imagine all the evil and or negetive thaughts coming out of you going into the earth and being recycled to good energy, on the inhale good energy coming through your cord or roots, exhale all your deression, misery, hatred and bad memories going into the earth and fading and turning to good energy. (you may want to record this to a tape in meditation so you don't forget. if you make a mistake don't worry, simply start over and try again.).

surprised May I please be a teacher here? biggrin I know alot about energy and psionics and would be glad to explain all that I know ^^

Besides- all that I know is stuff that I have tested thoroughly on myself and others, meaning that you can trust my knowledge more than that of a website whose origins are entirely unkown 3nodding For instance- I've seen some websites say there the human body has 3 places energy congregates frequently, while others say there are 7, some say that all energy rests in one area and only reaches out to body part when called upon, and yet some different sites will say that energy just moves in a circle with no major points that it builds up at rolleyes (btw- the truth is that there are 7 points in which energy usually gathers in larger amounts, but it doesn't remain here. Imagine a lake with one river feeding in and another feeding out- energy always goes through, but it builds up in mass in those areas 3nodding )

It's true that finding out for yourself is a good learning experience, but some things people just won't learn unless they know what they're looking for confused For instance- would anyone here have had any idea that there are 7 major "pools" of energy in the body? rolleyes Not unless someone told them. But now that you know you might notice it while meditating 3nodding

I actually wish I could learn the technical names for these things, though whee I've seen so many different names. For instance-

energy/psi/chi/ki/qi

whee Also, I'm not quite sure the technical name for the 7 energy pools in one's body sweatdrop I think someone called them "chakras" once, but I've also heard people use chakra as another name for energy rolleyes At least I know what auras are called xd

well.. chakras is what everyone else calls them, it goes from the base of the spine to the top of the skull, one in the middle of the forehead as the eye chakra...
there is psi, the energy scientifical people use which is like spare energy inside your head I think... maybe something diffrent...
then there's ki/chi/qi (same thing diffrent languages) which is kind of like psi... but pretty much the offensive of martial arts magick.
then there's chara, the defensive martial arts magick energy 3nodding

Ki/chi/qi is the same word in Chinese. The variations come from the fact that we Americans and our English language have so many ways to spell or express the same sounds.

Edit: Chakras are a Hindu and Buddhist concept of energy points on the body. There are major chakras and minor ones. The minor ones are located near pressure points all over the body. Chinese medicine uses a lot of the minor ones. The 7 major chakras are indeed located from the base of the spine (tailbone) to the very top of your skull. These correspond to different emotions or aspects of life, and have corresponding colors and minerals that react with them (crystal therapy). They are as follows:

1. Root chakra, or Muladhara
Located: Between reproductive organs and tailbone.
Color: light red, indian red, coral red, brown, and black.
Governs: The "base" or primal emotions, instinct, security, fear, stability.
Gemstone: black tourmaline, garnet, obsidian, black onyx, dark ruby, smokey quartz, bloodstone.
Likes: earthy, musky, or woody scents such as cedarwood

2. Sacral chakra, or Swadhishthana
Located in: Tailbone, base of spinal chord.
Color: orange-red
Governs: Sexual energy, reproductive health, reproduction, pleasure, problems with wanton hedonism or problems with intimacy or pleasure.
Gemstone: Carnelian, Yellow/Golden Topaz, Tiger Eye, Orange Amber, Sunstone, Peach Aventurine, Malachite.
Likes: fiery or musky scents

3. Navel or solar plexus chakra, or Manipura.
Located: Solar plexus, or midway between navel and lower chest.
Color: yellow
Governs: Digestive health, willpower or lack thereof, power issues, ambition.
Gemstone: Yellow Amber, Citrine, Golden Topaz, Yellow Calcite, Yellow Aragonite, Golden Tiger Eye.
Likes: citrus scents like lemon

4. Heart chakra or Anhata.
Located: Center of the chest.
Color: Green, pink
Governs: love, respect, empathy, emotion, compassion, cardiovascular (heart) and respiratory (lungs) health, being judgmental or emotionally "needy".
Gemstone: Green Aventurine, Rose Quartz, Malachite, Jade, Rhodochrosite, Pink Kunzite, Rhodonite, Pink Opal, Lepidolite, Fluorite, Garnet of any color.
Likes: flower-musk scents like ylang-ylang, jasmine, or rose.

5. Throat chakra or Vishuddha
Location: throat, thyroid
Color: light blue, turquoise, teal/cyan, pure blues
Governs: communication, creativity, vocation, integrity, diplomacy, thyroid problems, nose problems, hearing or dental health.
Gemstones: Blue Lace Agate, Angelite, Blue Topaz, Blue Kyanite, Blue Chalcedony, Blue Calcite, Sapphire, Blue Opal, Aquamarine.

6. Third eye chakra or Ajna

Most of what I posted had to do with crystal healing. It has actually become as accredited as chiropractic practices in most areas. I use some of these principles myself sometimes. As far as the colors and gemstones go, it is theorized that the color or gemstone radiates a certain energy frequency and complements these energy centers very well. You can place these gemstones in accordance with sacred geometry.
