The HQ was destroyed and the time is desperate. There is someone out there trying to hunt all Legends- not caring if they capture them dead or alive. Dare and your Legend meet in secret in a pub to discuss action and potential strategies to save young and old Legends alike.

[Age: Teen. Anything else you need to know, ask in OOC brackets, XD.]

Miraj sat impatiently in the back of the pub as close to the nearest exit as possible. She had no real interest in being there. She would greatly prefer to be with her ailing mother to offer her comfort and to protect her. With the headquarters destroyed and Legends being hunted down, it put her in a precarious situation. She also knew from experience that often times it was loved ones that came to harm first. It was a tactic she'd used a time or two, and she knew it worked very well.

She resisted the urge to smirk at that thought. It was not something she ought to be proud of, but another small, chaotic voice within her tried to convince her otherwise. She had worked hard to suppress that wicked streak, but sometimes that 'little' voice was so loud it drowned out any common sense or logic she might possess. One way or another, she needed to find enough resolve to focus on the situation at hand.

She was in serious trouble, and it was more than just the normal sort of trouble she stirred up. It wasn't her doing and she had no control over the situation. That was likely the part that bothered her the most, because even when she lost control, in essence she still had some measure of influence. Even so, she was wary of accepting or offering help to another -- even if it was a fellow Legend.

Trusting no one was a habit she had formed at an early age.

"Over here," a rough, deep voice sounds from the barely lit corner of the pub closeby Miraj's choice of exit. He raises his eyes to her before quickly averting them again. His face holds a hollow hauntedness, reflecting one who has seen far too much and is weighed down by responsibility.

Crimson hair sticks against the side of his face, unwashed and unkempt. His entire demenor also holds this quality, but in a low standard location such as this pub, he fits right in. He leans on his elbows and tugs one of his faded black gloves out of nervousness.

Her eyes narrowed and focused intently on Dare in a way a hungry bird spied a worm on the ground. With a habitual smile and a brief nod she stood from where she sat and casually moved to sit across from the redhead, her drink in hand. She tossed her hair over her shoulder, perfect smile still in place. To any outsider watching the both of them, it merely looked as though she we flirting but that was hardly why she was there. What's more, she was far too vain, and the young man's rather frazzled appearence didn't interest her in the slightest.

If anything, it made him appear vulnerable to her, which was never a good thing. It made her want to try and pick him apart to see what made him squirm. Given the circumstances though, she quite sagely decided that it wouldn't be so wise on her part to do so. An ally had the potential to be helpful. Another enemy did not.

Instead, she simply greeted him with silence and a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

Dare barely lifts his eyes as she joins him, but quickly steals a second glance. Not bad, the thought crossed his mind, but he quickly pushes it aside. Business first, and only business.

Instead, his olive green eyes stare intently at the bottom of his cup as if something there interests him so very deeply. "Did you make sure you weren't followed..?" he asks, as is a standard question in this type of situation. Or maybe he has watched too many movies.

Another smile, but like her beauty it was merely a glamour for what was really beneath the surface. She leaned forward and propped her chin daintily in one hand as she gazed over at Dare with half lidded eyes.

"Are you certain you weren't?" she asked in a low, quiet voice so that only he might hear. Her tone was light and sweet, but there was a darker current just underneath. She tilted her head to the side to peer over at him in a curious manner before relaxing back into her seat to lounge there as though she were simply in the comfort of her own home.

Dare rolls his eyes subtly so only she can see. He pushes aside his glass and coils his fingers together.

"I've been here hours," he explains gruffly, but quietly. He barely nudges his head toward his left, but crimson hair falls loose and hangs about his glistening brow. "I've seen every man and woman that came through those doors, and they most certainly have paid no interest to me."

He nudges the glass with two fingers, idly, and adds, "'Specially not the women."

His shoulders are tense, and he forces them to relax by leaning back into the cushion of his chair. A sly smile crosses his face as he fully takes her in. "I can't say the same about you, though," he murmurs with a dry laugh on his voice.

"Mmm... the lack of attention, particularly by the women, could be because you look to be in desperate need of a shower. Clean clothes would also be a plus," she answered smoothly with a faint quirk of a grin as she reached for her drink. Her eyes danced with amusement, but they were cold and dark. He looked like fun. It would be interesting to see just how he would break, but she had no time for games.

"Rest assured I was not followed. I would know if I were," Miraj went on as she idly twirled a long lock of her hair between her fingers.

Dare laughs bitterly. "Aye, though I didn't exactly have the chance to freshen up - what between keeping a low profile and personally sacrificing everything just to contact what Legends I can," he remarks, shooting her an unreadable glance.

Straightening up in his seat, he arches his shoulders back in a concentrated stretch. He quickly shoots a glance around the pub to soothe his own nerves. Truth be told, he knows that nothing now will give him the insurance he needs.

"What needs to be done," Dare murmurs lowly, nudging closer to her in his seat, "is what we need to focus on, Miraj. We may not have known each other well prior to this.. incident.. but the circumstances have become such that we need to reevaluate our options as they come."

"Agreed," she acknowledged and for the first time since she had approached Dare her smile seemed a bit more sincere as it all but faded away entirely. What was left behind was a rather drawn look of fatigue and worry. It was also likely the most of her true self anyone other than her beloved mother had seen in a long, long time.

The situation called for her to be forthright and the other Legend had risked the chance of contacting her. She would give him that much for the time being until she decided that going along with whatever plan they might be able to concoct was worth her time.

"Any ideas so far?" she asked quietly in a neutral tone, "Or information concerning the.. ah.. situation. I've heard nothing but the basic facts thus far."

Pain sparks across Dare's face. He takes a second of silence - or as much silence as a half-full bar can provide - before answering.

"Three of us are dead, that I know of." He keeps his eyes away from her, fixed on the ground, the nearby seat cushion, the moose head on the wall.. anything. As much as he wants to trust her, he wants more to step down as the bringer of bad news and the brewer of plans. In his eyes, he is too underqualified to fill such an important position.

He slides a hand against his stubble-ridden cheek before leaning back in his seat once more. "As for a plan, I have no more than a few pieces in a puzzle far too large for me to picture."

The pain so vividly written across the other's face startled her for a moment. Typically, the moment a person showed any sort of emotion of that sort, she pounced on it and used it for her own purposes. She usually saw it as weak, but this time she saw it differently. Whether it was simply a change of heart, or a brief moment of empathy, she wasn't certain but it was still... different.

"I'm sorry," she murmured sincerely before she even had a moment to contemplate the words that were tumbling freely from her mouth. She usually wasn't a person that freely offered symapthy for any reason, but she knew that it very well could have been her. She could so easily put herself in Dare's shoes, but then again, weren't they in the same boat already? Three of us are dead.Three Legends. Perhaps that was what made it easy. Despite the fact that she'd never really chosen to identify herself as such within the group, she was one of them. She could very easily be one of those three and Dare could be sitting across from someone else.

She could be next to be added to the list.

A shiver ran down her spine, though she smiled gently despite the cold chill. "Well then. Have you made contact with any others?" she asked before quickly adding, "Of us?"

"Two," he mutters quietly, passing his empty mug off to the waitress. He flashes her a fake smile and waits until he's sure she's out out of earshot. Only then does he return his gaze to Miraj. "One of which is here with us."

He raises his hand slightly to assure her. Of what, he isn't so sure, but it seemed the right thing to do. "He is likely our best ally, but.." He trails off accidentally, thrown off by a thought that prods his immediate attention. "But he isn't up for a Nobel Peace Prize with his qualifications, if you know what I mean.."

Mira smiled. The fear from moments ago was replaced with a bubbly sort of amusement that left her feeling almost giddy. She was on the very verge of bursting into a fit of giggles. It was bad enough that it was starting to make her sides ache, but she was doing her very best to remain utterly composed. It wouldn't do to draw unnessecary attention to them both by her laughter. Instead she leaned forward onto the table with both elbows as she gazed over into Dare's face intently.

"Sweetheart," she murmured in a low, honeyed voice, "I'm not exactly in the running for that particular prize myself." A decidedly wicked look flashed across her face as she spoke and for a brief moment she even looked different. Her hair seemd a bit wilder and feathered, her eyes more fierce, her smile too sharp, and her perfectly manicured nails too long. It only lasted for a moment, and then the change faded away as quickly as it appeared as she cleared her throat and offered Dare yet another charming smile.

"But.. back to business," she trailed off, eyes still glittering with amusement and a hint of mischief.

A cold breeze blew in the exit nearest Dare and Mira's table, the door banging hard on the wall inside. Nothing but darkness was immediately visible outside the now open door, but it was obviously getting colder in the pub - and the conversations slowly died.

When it might have seemed someone should get up to close the door, a figure melted in out of the night. Her dress was white, which served to set off the sickly pale color of her skin. Her amber orange eyes burned with madness, having sunken into her face. One pale arm hung useless at her side, a sign of how hard the other Legends had fought, but it didn't bleed or seem to cause her any pain.

"Greetings little mice," she said, looking at Dare and Mira with a smile playing at her lips. "I seem to have found your little hole."
