Verucca
Well I was kind of leeching off of an apartment in my building...but they got it turned off. So yeah, I need to get internet of my own apparently.
Ahhh, right, right.
ninja Well, hmm... Don't get AOL or Wal-Mart internet!! I quit AOL, and then got an $80 bill in the mail a couple months later. Took a while with that one. And Wal-Mart, was kind of a last resort, and we used it till we got Verizon DSL. I called to get it disconnected... this is what I got...
WM: "Is there any reason you're getting it disconnected?"
Me: "Well, I got DSL, so I don't need dial-up anymore."
WM: "Okay, so you want to cancel your service?"
Me: "Yes. I just want to cancel."
WM: "Alright, go to the Wal-Mart browser, and go to Preferences."
Me: "Okay..."
WM: "And click the box that says "Secondary Service"..."
Me: "No. I don't want to set this internet as my secondary. I want it cancelled and off my computer."
WM: "Why do you want it off your computer? We allow it to be a secondary service, just in case your DSL goes down. And we do offer a month free, just in the case that you reconsider."
Me: "No. I want it off of my computer. Now."
WM: "Why is it all of a sudden you don't want this internet? You used it for 6 months, and now decide you don't need it?"
Me: "What the hell kind of question is that!? Maybe because now I have DSL, and don't have to deal with all the dial-up errors."
WM: "But why don't you simply want to keep it as a backup?"
Me: "Look, I want it off my computer. Now."
WM: "Sir, there is no need to get frustrated. I am simply trying to offer you all of our services..."
Me: "Look, can I have someone who can actually HELP me, or not?"
WM: "One moment, it will take a few moments for me to process all the information."
Me: "Thank you."
*on hold*
WM: "Yes, sir. I have cancelled your service. Would you like the confirmation number?"
Me: "Hell. Yes."
Done... I am NEVER going thru that again...
sweatdrop I am a very polite and understanding person, but when they don't want to listen, and give me all that BS... that does it...
