A calm breeze swept through the air as the moon slid between the low, dark clouds. Four armor clad men rode along a dirt road on horses darker than the night. As the moon disappeared behind another set of clouds, an unnatural darkness descended upon the men and their horses. Swords were drawn with a quick skill only found among the most experienced swordsmen. Panic gripped the horses as they fought against the control of their riders. The warm summer air quickly turned to an icy chill and the breath coming from the horses flaring nostrils began to crystalize in the air.

The thick doors to the King's Hall slammed open, echoing between the ornate columns. Sharp, steely eyes searched throughout the large room before he entered with a hard determination in his step. Stopping just below the large throne, the man briefly dropped to one knee, slamming one of his fists down into the ground as he went. The anger was apparent in his face, and he took no pause before speaking, "Sire, you must take action. This is. . ."
A raised hand cut him off before a calm and controlled voice chimed in, "Mind your manners, General, and remember who it is you speak to."
Surpressing his rage and calming his tone the general started in again, "This is getting out of hand and something must be done. I lost four patrols last night, all in the same way. That's sixteen men, and none of them new to war. You have to take action or we won't have an army left to defend ourselves from the growing forces to the south. The people are becoming scared and my men begin to question their orders. You must act upon this now."
-------------------------------------
Looking deeply into his foaming beer, a man spoke to his companion in the barstool next to him, "It's not safe anymore Jonas. You hear about the sixteen men that died again last night? All of them veterans of war. I knew three of them and they were not the type to start a fight with."
Nodding slowly, Jonas replied, "Three months now these attacks have been going on and the king does nothing. I tell you, Thomas, if this keeps up my family is packing up and moving out. It's hard enough to feed 'em as it is, with the king taking over half of everything we make. My farm's dying because I can't keep care of it."

07.11.2006 - I put up the latest of the maps I'd been working on. It's only a very basic map, but it still looks pretty good. I'm working on getting foresty areas as well as some towns and such in there. I'll update again as soon as I have something more.
07.03.2006 - I'm making a new thread where any OOC business can take place. As part of this I'm also deleting any OOC bits within this thread. Please keep all OOC remarks to a minimum on the RP thread.
06.17.2006 - The character profile thread was moved to the character profile subforum of the guild. You can still get there by the link in the members section of this thread and if you bookmarked it the link should still work.
05.10.2006 - I've set up a second thread for the character profiles and will keep it up to date with any new members.
05.08.2006 - I'm still working on the map and I'm trying to come up with a good solution for the characters profiles. Thinking thinking.... thinking.... stressed Ouch, hehe... I'll get back to this one.
