Quarter to one in the afternoon. There were a few minutes left before her next appointment. A Mister and Misses Bell. Jack and June to be precise. She couldn't help but stifle a bit of laughter. Such perfectly fitting names. She, however, had no doubts that they likely wouldn't be as picture perfect as their namesake.
It was something she had learned through her own, personal experiences, and from speaking with couples for the past few years.
Taking her seat she opened the folder containing the Bell's information. Cray had given it to her in the morning. He'd come in wearing a pink bathrobe, his hair up in curlers. Said he'd woken up late and needed to take a shower.
She'd let him quickly take his leave.
"Five to." she mused, looking at her watch. They'd be here any minute.

June shuffled through the door to the clinic, arm linked to Jack's. For only a moment, she felt as if she had died suddenly and the light at the end of the tunnel approached. The lobby was amazingly... white. Blinking, she glanced around. A slight smile curved her lips, the thoughts of how clean the janitors must keep the building slip into her mind. Looking up to Jack's face, her smile widened, "This must be the place, I guess."

Glancing around almost uncomfortably, Jack's eyes flashed as the brightness came into view. He blinked and almost raised a hand to hide his eyes from the blinding light, though his blue eyes quickly adjusted. He looked down at his dear wife and a tentative smile crossed his lips as well. "Must be," he replied. "Have you ever seen anything so bright?" As if reading her mind, he added, "They must have some dedicated janitors here."

She could hear a light murmur of voices outside her door. Something about janitors. She wasn't sure. Sliding her glasses up along the bridge of her nose, Julia laced her fingers together over her desk, and waited for them to make their presence... officially known.

Nodding thoughtlessly, she glanced around, not quite sure where to go. The lobby area, which she assumed it was, was void of life. Noting a receptionists desk with a bell on it, the kind that could be found in instrument shops and the like, she looked back up towards Jack. Giving him 'those puppy-dog eyes', she smiled sweetly and murmured, "Will you ring that bell over there for me?"

He quirked a brow, looking down at her with a trace of a grin across his lips. "While I feel that you're perfectly capable of doing it yourself..." he winked, "for you, I'd do anything."
How sweet... or pathetic. Or both.
Strolling over to the counter, he tapped the bell and listened to the echoes reverberate off the empty walls of the lobby. He almost cringed. The entire building had an eerie feeling, so he returned to his wife's side, finding comfort in pressing his side lightly against hers and grasping her hand, intertwining their fingers.

The receptionist's bell. Julia had to laugh in spite of herself. Most people didn't bother with it. Then again. It could be due to the fact that, really?
There was no receptionist.
Reaching across her desk she flipped the switch of her intercom. It beeped out in the other room.
"Hello. If this is June and Jack Bell, my name is Doctor Julia Walts. I'm afraid the receptionist is currently off duty... if you wouldn't mind just passing into the hall on your right and making your way down, you can find my office. First door on the left. Thank you." the intercom then clicked out.

The voice over the intercom momentarily startled June. Glancing upwards, she looked around for the speakers, but gave up after a short time passed. Looking back up towards Jack, she shrugged and began to lead him down the hall to their right. Taking a deep, nervous breath, she knocked on the door, saying, "Dr. Walts?"

Jack allowed himself to be led down the hall, also a bit surprised by the announcement and by the fact this Dr. Walts knew who they were. Blinking once or twice, he waited as she rapped on the door and butterflies exploded in his stomach. This was it, wasn't it?
Calm down, Jack. It's not like it's your wedding day again.

"Come in." Julia called from inside the office. She had just finished folding a set of papers off to the side, and sent the normally present lizard like creature off to the coffee room. He knew better than to be present for patients.
Well, she thought,this shall be interesting

June looked uncertainly around, making sure no one important was looking. Normally, she wouldn't be caught dead in a shrink's office. Heck, she didn't even know what she was doing there. Somehow, one thing led to another and they had an appointment for some shrink she never even heard of. Seeing no one in the empty hallway, she gave Jack's hand a tight squeeze and opened the door. Uncertainty features on her face changed immediately to pleased ones (fake, at that). "Dr. Walts, I've heard so much about you. This is my husband, Jack." She said, patting his chest with her available hand.

Squeezing her hand in return, he trudged through the hall and arrived at the door, blinking. Why was he nervous? Shaking it off, he thought of something pleasant. Sam! Yes, his little boy's face pictured in his mind and he relaxed slightly.
As they entered the room, he nodded in greeting to the doctor. "Hello," he said softly.

Julia laughed softly as June spoke her polite greeting. Waving a hand she motioned towards a set of seats before her.
"It's lovely to meet the both of you. June and Jack yes?" she turned her eyes towards June.
"Thank you, that's rather kind although I must say I find it hard to believe you've heard of my work." even through pointing out the obvious flaw, the smile on Dr. Walts' face was welcoming.
While unheard of through the mainstay of the psychiatry network, there were an extrodinary number of certificates, creditials and other such framed papers handing throughout the office. Unheard of or not, this woman had definitely done her homework.
"Today will be a brief meeting. I just like to meet the families before the children are born." she paused, lifting a pen to her lips.
"Am I to be left with the assumption Professor Zee has told you what's going on?" she doubted it.

Chooding to ignore the bit about Dr. Walts' work, June listened on. She raised her brows, glancing up towards Jack, then back to the Doctor. "I, uh... not particularly? We have yet to even meet with this... Professor Zee." She paused, wondering if she dared go on or stop. "Excuse me for being so blunt, but, at the birth of our other child, Sam, we never had to visit a... shrink. Have times changed in five years, or am I missing something?" She stopped once more, adding on a quick note, "And a brief meeting is perfectly fine; we have to pick Sam up from soccer."

The more the two spoke, the more uncomfortable Jack became. He shifted slightly in his seat and cleared his throat at least twice until he finally realized he couldn't put off talking anymore.
"Professor Zee?" He shook his head to agree with what his wife had said, before adding once she finished, "Yes, Sam's soccer practice ends soon."
Thank god, he added silently to himself.
