I'm not sure weather this has been my favorite episode this season or I absolutly hated it. The writers seem to be making everything, I dunno, really Nickelodeon. They are trying to hard to make it humorous.

Kioshi (spelling I'm not sure of) was pretty wicked awesome though. And I liked all the rhinos. They are probably my favorite Avatar animals next to the horse-trich thingees.

So, discuss the episode, what you did and didn't like about it.

It wasn't serious enough. It was like one of those "The Great Divide"/"The City of Omashu" episodes.

"Zuko Alone" will definately be more serious. Nothing overly-silly ever happens to Zuko. And next week's episode, "The Blind Bandit," will more than likely be more serious.

You know what there should be? A TV-14 Avatar. It would be like, "Oh, le drama! Oh, le akshun!" ;D

I really like that it was so light hearted after The Swamp. It was funny, and Sokka made me giggle. I'm really glad he got his boomerang xd .

Am I the only one who didn't mind the funny? I really didn't. Avatar's good at balancing the screwball with the serious--I found this episode to be a good example of this.

I mean, first I'm laughing because Aang makes a cute girl--which is vaguely disturbing, but whatever--and then I'm like, OMG*DROOL* because... well, Kyoshi. That's really all I should have to say.

Sokka also had some of the greatest lines ever in this. "Boomerang! You DO always come back!"

Sure the humor was a bit nice, and I did laugh quite a bit, but it just seemed rather Nickelodeon, which I hate by the way.

And I think Le Spiffy One is absolutly right. They should slap a TV-14 rating on it and stop trying to make it so kid friendly. It's NOT one of those cute little kids shows like Spongebob or Fairly Odd Parents.

I like it so far. I'm one of the unlucky peoples who doesn't get Nick, so I watch all my eps on Youtube now. ^^;;

I'm just after the part where Zuko has left Iroh, and the remainder of it is downloading now. I must say, I liked the triumphant return of Aang's fanboy. xD *gasp!* *whimper* EEEEYAAAAAHOOOOOAAA! *foam*

Also, Kyoshi is awesome. : O

As for being too Nick, I don't think it's so bad so far. Aang actually said murderer! GASP! Cartoons allowing children to know of a concept like DEATH? In this day and age?!?!

Meh. I like it the way it is, and think certain other cartoon companies could learn a thing or two from Avatar about making a good kid's show without being kiddy. My sister lets her 9 year old watch this, but I can enjoy it too. xD

yes.. this eppie i did like quite a lot... i was really pleased w/ it.. having avatar Kyoshi actually step onto the scene was pretty awesome, i mean the power she had was quite incredible... i liked pretty much everything about this eppie. *And Sokka as the dectective? lol hilarious* blaugh however, i do see what you mean.. nick is kinda trying tom put too much humor into it, and its kinda changing the whole thing u kno? *ive also noticed that this new season.. the animation is different.. ~ i eman besides the computer generated water...~ the characters look more cartoon-ish? ~does that make ne sense~ and honestly im not too crazy about that... like some o fthe new facial expressions on the characters.. are a lil weird... stare dont get me wrong, i love the show, and its my fav. but i ahve notcied changes between this new season, and season one... whee

Yeah, they've definatly changed the animation style.

And in the first episode of season two, Zuko's hair kept changing from black to brown. It was all very confusing.

Waaah. I don't want Avatar to change for the worse. D'=

I've liked the first few episodes of this season quite a lot. I'm not entirely sure what you guys are talking about when you say it's getting childish.

Yes, there are some episodes that are obviously comic relief, i.e. 'Avatar Day.' But I remember some of the earlier episodes where there are dark themes underlying Azula. There's also the fact that Zuko is leaving Uncle--to me, that spells serious.

I don't think that the show's changing, I just think that the writers are trying to keep a balance of light and dark. The next two episodes are probably on the darker side, like how the Le Spiffy One mentioned.

As for my opinion on this episode, it made me laugh pretty hard, even if one or two of the jokes were a little forced. I actually punched my couch at the end where Zuko walks away from his uncle. It made me mad.

The animation's not changing. It's not getting more or less cartoony--and new expressions?

Do you guys not even remember "Imprisoned"? They even did the special anime speedlined backdrop at one point there.

I seriously have no idea what you're talking about.
