((Sorry, this is a bit rushed, and I'm assuming Milinda is close to the shore x3))

Dark slate blue paws walked an already well worn path, taken by many lions before him. And many that were a might bigger then he is. Despite his beautifully dark and thick mane finally filling in around small but sculpted features, it did nothing to emphasise his size. If anything, it made him seem that little bit smaller, as now a good portion of muscle was covered by his mane.

But this didn't bother Tambuzi. Well, it did, but he always thought his size an advantage for everything in life. Speed, intelligence, agility, and even the ability to swim. He was lighter than other lions.

Tambuzi stopped a moment, hardly noticing the fact that he'd stopped walking on hard, arid ground some time ago. Grasses sprung up all around him, and there was a distintive taste in the air that was unrecognisable. How far had he travelled? The breeze was quite lovely too, a great comfort to warm fur that was a magnet for heat and sunlight.

The lioness' deep violet eyes scanned the ocean contentedly. Everything was in perfect harmony-- the sky was a bright blue, soft clouds danced in front of the sun before retreating from it, and the waves that dragged over the briny deep were clear and turquoise.

A smile caused Mlinda's maw to curl up, before she turned around to pad back to the tall skinny blades of grass that provided shade. Today would be a perfect day to just lay about and eat fish.

But wait.

The lioness' ears perked up, and her nose began sniffing out an unfamiliar scent. Somehow, through all the salt and sand, she could pick up a trace of something.

Crouching low, Mlinda began crawling along the beach to where Tambuzi stood, and began growling low as a warning. This was her beach!

Tambuzi's moment of reflection didn't last long. He never let it do so. Day-dreaming often lead to mistakes and surprises of the unwanted kind. With a slight sigh, he heaved his bottom from the soft ground, and felt with uncertainty at the softer ground he began to tread. The grasses that licked at and tickled his legs quikly gave way to soft earth mingled with sand and then totally engulfed in sand for as far as Tambuzi could see. There were still patches of tall grass, but nothing solid to get his large paws onto.

"What the...?" he spun around.

In the clump of grasses before him, a pale shape wavered and flickered as the grass swayed. It was indistinguishable at first, but the growl was crystal clear.

"H-hello?" he queried, cocking his head slightly.

"GET OFF MY BEACH!" roared Mlinda at Tambuzi. Leaping out of the grass and towards the adult, she tackled him down, claws out and brushing against his skin. She held him down hard enough to make an imprint of his body in the sand.

"Get off my beach, or beware the wrath of the ocean!" she yelled at the male, before she widened her eyes. A lion. A m-m-m-male l-l-lion. The lioness leapt off him quickly, fear washing over her. She quickly sprang behind the grass, high tailing it to a few rocks that were nestled a good 20 yards from where they were. Waves washed over the edge of them, and a palm tree curled up around it. An ideal hideout!

The last thing Tambuzi expected was this grey and white blob to come flying at him!

He lost his breath for a moment as he hit the sand with a thud, kicking up some sand. He felt it tickle across his nose, and knew it would contaminate his lungs at some point. Coughing up finely grated rock and crystal bits, how attractive.

Speaking of attractive, the white blob came into focus as a somewhat stunning blue-eyed lioness. Blue eyes! Tambuzi kicked himself mentally, cursing his weakness. He didn't even mind the embarrassing situation of being pinned so easily by a femme. Although, he didn't mind the view and would gladly get pinned by her any day!

But as she skittered away, Tambuzi caught the flash of fear that polluted her china-white face. Huh? I haven't even done anything...she pounced me!

He rolled around in the sand until he could get his feet, and just saw her ascend the rocks.

"Hey wait!" he shouted after her, following her path.

The lioness looked back over her shoulder as she sprinted across the white, sandy beaches. She looked back, and started into the water, until she was up to her neck in it.

Thankfully, the rocks she had began towards were right next to her, and after a few tries, she scrambled up them and crawled up the palm tree. Mlinda released her claws, keeping a firm grip on the trunk. "S-STAY AWAY! THE SEA'LL KILL YOU!" she warned in a cracked voice, eyes still wide with terror.

Tambuzi trotted right to the edge of the shore, letting the incoming surf swim around his large paws. For a brief moment, he looked back at the paw-prints both he and she had made in the wet sand. Needless to say, he was pleased that his paws were bigger than hers. Thats all I need...a female being bigger than me he chuckled to himself.

He didn't enter the water yet, playing along with her cautionary threat. He was an able swimmer, and felt a slight smugness at the idea of shocking her when he leaps into the water later. That little flick of a smile curled at the very corners of his mouth.

He looked up at her as she desperatelt clinged to the tree. Was she afraid of him? Must have been the first time Tamba had instilled fear into someone. Ever.

"What are you doing up there? I won't bite," he shouted over the gentle surf.

Her claws slowly began losing their grip, before she clung even tighter. The lioness inched herself closer and closer to the top, until the palm tree bent over a bit, much to her embarassment. She wasn't fat, was she?

Then, caught off guard, her claws retracted, and she flopped off the palm tree and landed in a small tide pool just below it. "AAAAGGH-Oof!" Mlinda sat up, and gave a yell of surprise as she felt a crab snap at her tail. Quickly leaping out of it, she then ran to the edge of one of the rocks, watching Tambuzi with a hard glare. "You b-better get out of here! I'll make the ocean tear you to pieces!" she growled. Unfortunately, this wasn't very intimidating, seeing as she was sopping wet.

As she glared at the male, she couldn't help but notice a similarity between his fur and some sort of whale, or dolphin's. Hmph. Perhaps the ocean had cursed him with looking like this, she thought. Mlinda smirked down at Tambuzi, before leaping off the rock and straight at him.

Tambuzi's smirk was hard to hide, even after getting splashed a little by the lioness' crash-landing into the tide-pool. Lets see...dangling precariously from a coconut tree (how appropriate, she seemed a little nutty), then splash-landing, and finally, a soppign wet proclamation of her power over the sea.

Tambuzi wasn't impressed, neither was he scared of what this lioness thought she could do. He slumped back a little, quirking an eyebrow, that awful smile on his face. He could be a little smart-arse at times.

"Oh...and you can contro-WAH!" he began. The white blob obscured his vision once more, but this time, he shuffled backwards a bit to avoid getting pounced once more.

Mlinda bounded across the sandy bottom, storming towards Tambuzi, until she was right up in front of his face. This should strike fear into his heart of how powerful the ocean was!

The lioness pressed her face right against his so that she could glare into his bright yellow eyes. " I can control WHAT?" she barked, baring her teeth. "The ocean obeys me, and I obey the ocean! Now if you continue to mock what I hold dear, I'll feed you to the sharks, and leave your hide for the seagulls to play with! And another thing! I don't like males coming on to MY territory! If you come here again to taunt me or the ocean, I'll take you 50,000 leagues under the sea personally! Understood?!"

She finally drew back from him, snorting and puffing out her chest. How dare he, a mere lion, mock the greatest body of water, the source of life, the gateway to new worlds!

Tambuzi was gob-smacked. Literally, he felt like someone had slapped him with a wet fish. Nostrils flared slightly as she came so close, he inhaled the general smell of her, but it was mingled too much with the salty breeze. Or maybe she actually did smell salty...? And she was dripping wet still, moistening his muzzle.

"Listen lady. I didn't come hear to mock anything or anyone, alright! I'm just here. I came from inland, and I've just been wandering. As far as I'm concerned, this beach is all yours, I ain't about to argue," he said calmly, but with that hint of an authoritative voice.

At first, his posture was still in the shape she had forced him into - arched back and squished when she'd pressed her face to his. But then he straightened up.

'Lady'? Such crude language for a male lion. Then again, weren't they all? She shook her head a little in dismay, before padding out of the water-- it seemed a bit chilly today.

"First off, male intruder," she said, oblivious to his first answer, " I am not called 'lady'. My name is Mlinda ya'uziwa. Second off, get off my beach." She started towards him again, dipping her gray-white paws into the water. "This was my father's land, and I, the sole successor of his pride, will not tolerate intruders. And if you continue to come here or wander around here, I'll drag you by the tail through the typhoons!"

Feeling proud of herself and her family's history, she turned and started back to the beach, tail erect and head held high. She certainly felt like the alpha female of this beach!

Tambuzi blinked, his face a picture of blankness. She was certainly a forceful little minx. He looked at her, face expressionless for a moment, as if dumbstruck.

"Err, can I just call you Mlinda?" he asked honestly, but in that stupidly-funny way that many males have.

"I can seriously respect that this is your land. I'm not here to ruffle feathers or, kick up sand," he smirked at the clever use of wit. These moments came so often that his family often tired of it and groaned at his puns.

He stood to a more masculine pose, and painted a smug smirk on his face as he watched Mlinda's fine form storm away from him.

"I highly doubt, however, that you'd be able to outswim me. You say you can drag me to the depths of the ocean? I'd like to see you try," he chortled.

The lioness stopped in her tracks, turning slowly with a 'Are-you-kidding-me?!' expression on her face. She then smirked, and started towards him, crouching low. "Very well then.. and don't think I'll hold back on you just because you're a male!" she called, before leaping up and sprinting towards him.

White paws kicked up the sand as she darted towards Tambuzi. The lioness had grown up on the sand, and could use it to her advantage. She dug a heel into the sand, spraying some at the male's way.

Tambuzi's smirk stayed stuck on his face right up to the moment Mlinda started sprinting towards him. He gave his paws a compulsory wiggle on the sand, getting a feel for the odd substance. The splash of sand wasn't quite expected.

"Pfffft! Blech...what was all that about?" he spat out sand, shaking his head and thick mane vigorously.

He could have so easily fought back, afterall, his paws were much bigger and he could spray more sand. But his mother had always told him not to fight, not even playfight, with a female. It wasn't very gentleman like.
