Whomigosh! I'm back - dunno how long but yeah I'm back for those who remember me smile All I remember is gaughan and ragnarok off the top of my head but yeah here I am biggrin

Anyway yeah I was outraged when I heard this name and I really considered getting a ps3 (whoa) cos Wii was the most terrible name ever but yeah I think I'm calming down now and yeah I don't hate the name as such - I think it was a bad move by Nintendo to change the name - it sounds all lame now IMO and Revolution is the best nintendo console name to date so I have mixed emotions rite now but at the moment I'm not too excited about getting one.

eh. I don't really mind that much. Sure its a little different...but so is the Revolution Wii. huh, thats gonna get weird. xp

At least this one won't have to be shortened to an acronem (NES, SNES, N64, GCN, ...Wii). What would people shorten it to? The "Big W"?

I'm still calling it the Revolution.

And it isn't really that bad. If anything, it's a brilliant marketing strategy because it's getting so much attention.

Hate to break it to you but revolution was the project name, not the consoles name. They called it Project revolution simply because it's going to revolutionize the gaming industry (As nintendo always does and always will) with their new controller, the nunchuck, and the way the games are played. Hell you can even download classics from the internet.

I guess people were so hyped up about it they assumed the console was going to be called the revolution. Ah well it's all good

I like the name Wii. Wii is the sound of inclusion. "Wii will Wii will ROCK YOU!" is a good musical pun. makes it easy to recognize the console.

Revolution was Wii's code name, but it gave the point of the Wii already, revolutionary gameplay. and still allow reverse compatability with the previous generation. powerful graphics dont mean s**t if the next generation is just gonna be a polished off version if the previous generation.

though Wii did seem to posess Xbox360 powered graphics. I saw the game demos on video, it was very cool to see how Wii would revolutionize the gaming world. and Wii is all about the smallness of the console and making gaming easier. ^__^ Nintendo may develop implants or a neural-tap for it's next generation of gaming. ^__^ I look forward to Wii, and I will point and laugh at those who wasted their money on a PS3.

with a Wii, you only pay about $200.00 for a new machine. for the PS3 you pay $500.00-$600.00 for their machine. I'll save a couple C-notes and buy me a Wii, not just for the savings, but Wii just is more awesome than PS3.
