^^;; Gomen if it's already been done...but how and when did you get into Saiyuki?
I started a little more than a year ago. ^^ I was randomly at Blockbuster and I saw the Saiyuki Requiem movie. My mom usually makes me pay for my anime movies so I wasn't going to get it...but by the luck of the draw she paid for it (to be rented of course) and I loved it!! @_@;; I think that was the fastest amount of time I ever got into an anime...^^ I remember my first reaction to Goku's voice was..."O_O Woah...what the hell?" But about a 1/2 hour later I was like: XD Hurray Goku!! *hugs*
^^;; I didn't understand much of the movie though because I hadn't seen the episodes. I got lucky again when I checked my library and they had all the DVD's accept Vol. 2...^^!!

i've been watching just over 2 years now-i love my saiyuki *pets her gojyo pants*
i first got into it when my friend send my a pic of sanzo and said check it out so i did and i fell in love with the series heart

Wow...a lot of people are getting into Saiyuki from friends. Has anyone ever suggested Saiyuki to a friend? ^_^ I know I have...*thinks* must be about...5 friends now that at least watch some eps of Saiyuki thanks to me. ^_^

I got into Saiyuki about 2 years ago. I was watching The Anime Network section in my OnDemand menu (I have comcast) when it appeared. At first, I thought Saiyuki was stupid (don't hit me), so I skipped it. One weekend, I was completly bored so I went to The Anime Network menu again and saw that Saiyuki was still on there. I thought to myself "Oh what the hell." and that's how I got into it. I started to get into it when I heard the theme song, which was For Real at the time. When I saw Sanzo, I quickly developed a crush on him. I reconginzed his voice from Sorcerous Stabber Orphen. After the episode, I became a devoted fangirl. I tried to get my friends in it but they just didn't watch it. Just this year I found out that there's another person who watches Saiyuki at my school and she's a Gojyo fangirl. As far as I know me and her are the only ones who watch Saiyui in my entire school, it's kind of sad crying . I heart Sanzo!!

I've only been reading Saiyuki for about the past year now. Some guy in my homeroom class knew that my friend and I were into anime and manga so he let us borrow volumes three and four. (For some reason those were the only volumes he had.) I was totally hooked. So I bought up to volume six, I think, but then my mom found out that I had been reading sixteen and up manga, which I'm not supposed to read because I'm not sixteen. So I had to sell all of it. My friend has it now.
And then I started to miss my Saiyuki. Oh how I missd it so! So, after Christmas I went to the bookstore with my friend and bought it all the volumes! Mwahahaha!!! I keep them stashed in my closet. Along with the dead bodies...
I guess that was a little more than how I came to be obsessed but, whatever.
I've also gotten most of my friends into Saiyuki.

XD. ^_^ We went to my house today for lunch and watched it. ^^;; Our little gang was all over the place. 2 had gone to Ottawa, 1 wasn't there, 1 we...kinda lost...er...forgot...@_@;;, and yeah...that's pretty much it...@_@;; well...there's another one...but we haven't hung out with her for awhile...

My fandoma began back when I was still intrested in american comic books. Until that fateful day My art teacher came back from the San Diego Comcon with a bag of free swag. As I was looking through it find the new MARVEL stuff, the 2003 Tokyopop sampler falls out of the bag. I look though at and low and behold I stopped a picture of this hot monk with a gun. I read and start to think " there's four of them and their all hot" and " MARVEL and DC don't use Language like this!" Saiyuki got me hooked to manga and anime. My art teacher calls it "the Day I turned Japanese". No regrets live the life that is hand to you.
