I have a myspace, you may not have my name as I only allow people I know irl onto my friendslist.

I find it to be fun. Although I do find Gaia to be more addictive. Kids already spend all thier time online.

Ahhh Myspace<3
Lol.
Myspace - I use it too just talk to friends that I wouldn't call.. ya know? I get on, check my comments.. get excited when I have new ones, and then get off. Hahaha.
But since I moved, I can keep in touch with my friends back in St.Louis..

Shift in topic; Controversy/
There is so much controversy surrounding myspace. I mean, it gets more hits than ebay and google. Lol. I read a news paper clipping about how a boy got kicked out of his private college for having pictures of him in drag. Kids not accepted to college cause of stuff they had on their myspace, kids in Alaska plotting to kill people.. means of communication -myspace. More later though. My hands are feezing cause its like 20 degrees and I just got home from soccer practice

Btw, my myspace is myspace.com/insecurities

oh i love myspace. I dont think it makes kids stay online all day, in fact i think gaia would make people stay online more than myspace would because it's more fun. oh yeah im myspace.com/dcrawford230 so add me if u all want.

I like Xanga better. Myspace looked too confusing when I visited the site.

I've only added people I know in real life to my friends on myspace. I tried adding someone I found was on Gaia also, and all they did was send me chain letters through Gaia's PMs. I'm not saying that any of you would do that, but I'd like to keep my myspace for real life for right now (I've only had an account for a little while). I think it's because myspace is geared more toward your real life--your real interests and pictures, etc., while on Gaia, people tend to be a lot more into role-play. The two communities are just completely different to me in that sense. Though they do both have the same topics in forums, the same netspeak, the same immature kids and stupid adults... rolleyes

I have heard on the radio and read in the newspaper about people "getting caught" doing/saying/plotting certain things on myspace and having to face real life consequences. One police officer even had the audacity to say, "The people on myspace don't realize that everyone and anyone can read what they write," including people who could have an effect on their real lives. The officer was using myspace to obtain clues and leads for crimes committed by high school kids.

It's funny how people post anything and everything on myspace. It's a public place...and the world isn't as socially "huge" as people assume. That is, you could reveal that you smoke marijuana or about your promiscuous sexual activity, and anyone who knows your real name could find out.

I applaud law enforcement officials for beating some dimwits to the punch by letting those alleged suspects or accomplices tell on themselves or others.

I'm not sure how an online obituary listing for myspace users is all that great, but maybe I'll look into it in more detail...

..maybe not. ^-^

To me, it's just to keep in touch w/ people I know from real life. I use it know to send them messages. I guess I have learned just a little bit more about them than I would have known if I hadn't joined myspace, but I could have gotten the same info by talking to them, lol. xd I guess I use the forums there too, from time to time. 3nodding Other than that, there's no real hype that would keep me excited about that site. xp

I never been to Myspace before and I don't plan on going on there any times soon. I'll just stick to LJ.

MySpace is also being blamed for sexual preditors and I've heard it called a pornography site too.

People are so stupid! Ack!!!
MySpace is what you make of it.

I use it to get in contact with people I thought I'd never see again; people I met in grade school, high school, college, girl scout camp, etc.
I also use it to hear about new music artists.

I don't have a problem talking to strangers, but I refuse to meet up with anyone that I haven't met in person before meeting them on MySpace.

If parents are having problems with they children sitting around on the computer all day then they should turn it off and tell them to run around outside for an hour.
