Do you feel that perhaps that some jewish people are racist against the black community?
I know this is really offcourse i just wanna know i feel that in some instances.
and i know nothign is perfect but i wanna know what you think?

I believe that there is no racism in Judaism, rather a caution toawrds a people, but no real hate.
I don't see one of these cautions towards the African American People, they have done nothing, that I can think of, it is late at night, to the Jews. In fact some of them are Jews. So as a whole, no I do not believe a racism towards African Americans exists within the Jewish community as a whole.

Well, the torah says to be wary of non-jews because they might try to harm you, but it's not nessicarily racist... The torah says not to act towards your fellow man in such a way you wouldn't like done upon yourself. We cannot hate anyone for who they are unless they are from "amalek". Amalek is the ONLY nation we are actually commanded to HATE.
And on a side note, when someone converts (gair), upon their entrance to the community you treat them with respect, and if they suffer, g-d hears their cry extra louder than others. 3nodding
Actually, there are certain points in the torah that, depending on how you understand it, you might point it out as racism, like "amalek". It is NOT racisim however, anyone beleiving it is wrong.

ZonkotheSane i like to think that my race is better than the local black community... so yeah. that makes me racist. that isnt something to be proud of at all. Racism is a horrible and Discusting thing. If your gona indulge it and say its A.O.K to be racist against a people because of their skin colour, beleifs, traditions etc. basicly that puts you along the lines of Nazis and the KKK, meening, sorry to say, that makes you a peice of s**t.

erm...I can't really speak for Zonko, but I think he was joking? Hopefully.....?
Anyway, I at least like to think Judaism has never had a record of racism or stereotyping towards anything/anybody; most know what it's like themselves, so they don't want to do anything towards others.
However, this is generalizing. As much as I hate to admit it, there is probably one person out there that is racist towards others. While I am definitely NOT racist myself, there's a very large percent that somebody out there is. But on the bright side, Judaism has never really had a record of fighting/violence/racism, so I don't really think so... 3nodding

Racism may be too bland of form of prejudice.
Prejudice is needed to an extent.
We as humans have the need to categorize.
Place things in groups, associate things.
Like the fact that we see a face in things that are not faces.
(The moon, mars, breakfast with two eggs and a couple pieces of bacon, etc.)
Most prejudices, whether you want to believe it or not, has a purpose...
Even if it is dead wrong.
So to start off with, everyone is prejudice in some way about something.
Most of us, about a lot of things we don't even think of that we do.
So the question I ask myself, am I racist?
(Well being stated from earlier, the answer is "duh" for anyone)
I have black friends, educated, and fun to be around.
Then there is the term "******", referencing to dictionary: ignorant black person.
Well, I have to say it. That describes most of the blacks that I drive by.
Uneducated, couldn't care less about anyone else attitude.
There is a night and day difference between my friends, and ignorance.
Now I will continue on a little more...
No one is devoid of ignorance, but to the extent that people want to kill each other... ok, go back to the ghetto and kill each other off, because we surely don't want to deal with it in the "nice neighborhoods".
And that doesn't go for all in the ghetto, some try to leave.
So let's sum it all up.
Everyone is prejudice and everyone is a bit ignorant.
But rampant ignorance and rampant prejudice is the problem, not prejudice to begin with.

i wasn't joking.
but honestly, i don't hate black poeple any more than i hate anyone else. and i don't hate anyone at all, as a rule.
the deffinition of racism has nothing at all to do with hate. racism is, according to webster "the belief that one race is better than another". now, i'm not one to judge, but i hope for my family's sake that my race (that is, if you consider jews a race) is better than the black community. i mean, the only neighborhoods i wouldn't walk alone at night in that aren't black are arab, and you don't have too many of those in the states. this is, of course, a gross generalisation. black poeple, as individuals, are not neccesarily inferior in any way, the same as with all poeples. but black community and society, on the whole, is defunct. at least in the area where i live, ie, the east coast. some village in kenya is not at all what i am reffering to by "black community". but then again, one can always claim that this "a unique culture".
so i guess, i'm not racist, not in the common sense of the word, ie, "******-hater". but webster says i am. and even then, it's not blacks as a race i have any issues with, or individuals. it's blacks as a community that i hope my own community is at least slightly above. and that, according to webster's dictionary, makes me racist. ("communist" doesn't sound right)
thank you computermind, for pointing that out. "******" is an insult, but it does have a meaning besides being a dirty word for "african-american". which reminds me: i have some friends from africa who are white. so, if thet're african americans, how come they don't get benefits?
