This thread is for the discussion of the cd Izayoi no Tsuki. This cd was made as a type of soundtrack to a book by the same name. The discussion here should be about only the music that appears on this album. This disucussion can range from musical discussion to discussions about the overall feel of the album. So long as the conversation focuses around the music from this album then it is on topic! Izayoi no Tsuki -dec-13-2002- -tracklist- -01- Kakera -02- Izayoi no Tsuki -03- Zashiki Hitoya -04- Mise Mono Koya -05- Tsukiyo -06- Houmon Mono -07- Kyougetsu Yoru -08- Mawaru Wa ~ Kioku -09- Maboroshi Yume -10- Kaikou

This is actually some of my favorite music of Kozi's solo career. Each song has a very independent sound and feel from one another yet all of them also connect well together to create a story. I can't comment on if this project does a good job serving its purpose as a soundtrack to author Minako's book (because I can't read japanese yet. If someone knows where I can find a translation of the book that would help me out alot) but I do feel that the songs on this project seem to at least create the feel of something story-like.

It is actually a book by Minako. Kozi made the soundtrack to the book (an idea that I love) and the two come packaged together.
You really should give it a listen. I think it is a highlight in his career (probably because it sounds so different to the rest of his music while still feeling like it is his music).

If you would like I could actually upload one or two songs from this project for you...as a sample. It would give you a good idea of the overall sound and feel of the album. Plus, if you like it you can always buy it (unlike some of kozi's other works this one seems to be rather easy to find).

All I've heard from this album is Tsukiyo and Kaikou.. so I don't think I can give it a fair statement about it quite yet. ^^; I also haven't looked into either of the two songs in depth yet.. but I happen to like Tsukiyo a lot. Perhaps I'll have more to say once I find out more about what I'm listening to. ^_^

I offer you the same option that I offered pappil. I can upload a couple of the songs from that album in order to give you a better idea and feel for its sound.

Sadly, I have not come across a translation of the book. I plan on buying it regardless but I was hoping that a translation could be found since I can't read Japanese yet. stressed If anyone here finds a translation, do me a favor and post the link here.

I would also like a traslated version.. I have wanted to read this book ever since Miss Shino sent me some of the music. I still remember waking up in a cold sweat to the baby crying in "Izayoi No Tsuki". I had my cd player on loud that night.. sweatdrop

I had my cd player on loud that night.. sweatdrop I think that album could induce nightmares if heard while sleeping. The album itself does kind of sound like a nightmare. In fact, I remember one person in the International Kozi thread saying that she thought of this album as a sort of precursor to a nightmare while Catharsis was more of the nightmare.

She's onto somthing i belive. To me it sounds as though it could introduce nightmares of your childhood.. and make you dream of things long forgotten. A type of remembrance i suppose.. It reminds me of Batman Returns maybe because of Tim Burton and the penguin i donno..
