So I was in the Abortion Debate room, where 90% of the inhabitants are pro-choice. It is a debate right, so I have the right to say what I want, correct?
Wrong! I stated I was pro-life 100% immediantely I was bombarded with the "what-about-rape-and-the-dangers" stuff.
So then, I said if you are raped thats sad, but you could adopt.
Then someone else said, "Childbirth is dangerous!" So then I said "Abortion is MORE dangerous". Heck, I even found a site!
But yet they act like I'm some horrible person for wanting to SAVE the "mass of tissues"
Then I also asked "When does this mass suddenly become a baby? Does it MAGICALLY turn human at birth?"
Of course, to them I'm evil. Has anyone else had this problem?

What Pyro said. The reason it's so heavily pro-choice is because a lot of people in here that I know of have just grown sick of the ED debate. After people spend hours trying to argue over anything with you to the point of telling you an orange is a vegetable when you make a simple analogy (I wish I was joking, she actually said, "an orange is a vegetable.") it gets kinda like, life is too short.

They like mudslinging, emotional response bringing assaults. Not all of them, but a lot of them. Some of them are really very nice, but then some of them will say they can use whatever sources they want but your sources aren't good enough since they're biased (because as we all know, Planned Parenthood isn't biased one bit over the abortion debate!) They've even thrown out things from medical texts because it didn't agree with their own views. It's stupid. Though most of them are over the age of 20, it reminds me of being back on the bus in middle school with kids arguing about their favorite bands being the best. "I'm right and you're wrong because I say so!" Actually, I'd put that below middle school.

Anyway...the truth is, most of them don't want to listen. They've already closed themselves off, and let's face it, a lot of us don't want to listen either. The difference is one side is definitely more civil in there. It doesn't help that the thread is run by someone who is pro-choice and though she graciously offered to inculde our imput hasn't done so yet for a LOT of things.

Yes, she says she's very bussy, but the info we gave her almost completly counters all the arguments she's built, so I think its more then her being bussy. Plus, her attitude towards lifers when our backs are turned or she thinks we're not listening is sickining. SO, that just adds another level of suspicion.

Yeah, they automaticly think your pro-choice. Most of them have th emind set that any one even remotely pro-life is a mudslinign biggot who wants to strip all rights form woman. That reminds me of some of the choicers I'm told of who don't beleive there is any such thing as a pro-life female. Ask Lyme on this one, she can tell you some pretty scary and funny and scarryfunny stories abotu some of those types. They say any woman who is active in prolife was either guilted into it (I still don't see how you can guilt some one into saying its wrong. Either they all ready knwo its wrong or they have a mental barrier set up around their on concious...or lack a concious entirly), is brain washed, or is a male with a female avi (here on gaia). I must argue over whos brainwashing who. Since it is natural to assume the unborn is human and a child, scociaty has to ingrain the beleife that the unborn is not.

As for their attitude, I can sum that up quickly.

I'm the one to debate the most, and I've shown considerable intestinal fortitude by letting them step over me, call names, emotionally attack, mudsling, etc. Really, I just quit debating all together after a while, while they make biased and stereotypical judgements and characteristics towards pro-lifers.

Yes, I hate women, I hate how they have the control of their body when they have a baby, I hate pre-marital sex, I WANT ALL WOMEN TO BE BAREFOOT, NAKED, COOKING MY MEALS, CLEANING MY HOUSE, AND USED A SEX DOOL WHENEVER I PLEASE....

I agree! I think I should have to be naked AND completely covered...naked whenever my master goes, "Woman, take your clothes off!" For he is my master and I must obey him! I'm a woman after all! I must be locked up underground, and if it catches fire and I burn to death because I'm unable to get out, I shall do so with a smile on my face knowing that my master is safe and he's got ten other concubines waiting to comfort him when he realizes his redheaded one is burned to a crisp!

Yes... I have the same problem.. and then when they all find out that I have given up college and I willingly CHOOSE to stay at home in the kitchen (And yes barefoot...is there any other way to be?) Watch my little boy grow up and I am HAPPY about it... well then I have a holy war on my hands.. I am the epitomy of anti Feminazi movements and I have no respect for myself and I am letting the dirty males trample all over me.... Blah blah blah

heart to me I would have no respect for myself if I handed my child over to be killed or if I handed them over as soon as they were old enough to some school or another and let someone else raise the kid... *shrugs*

I think the people that flame or mudsling us Just dont want to listen to the facts that are.. well Facts. they want their little half truths and blatent lies.. if it makes you feel good why not do it right?
I say if your not responcible enough to deal with the conciquences don't do it to begin with...

*nods* Or my favorite... ...Err... Yeah.... So to negate the irrisponcible non-Safe-sex you had you'll kill an innocent...

a leech? and she is not a leech? off of some system or another? to her parents should she live at home. to the earth for living on it and taking up it's resources. she is merely a leech given a voice.
