 The day was dark and overcast. There was an electricity in the air that promised rain soon. Smiling, Cirrus strolled idly across the campus lawns, taking in the bright contrast of the Sakura blossoms against the dark sky and revelling in the peace before the storm.
Kayne had disappeared again, possibly to the dojo. Ever since Ms. Montecelli had made him Captain, he could be found spending almost all of his free time there.
Passing under some low branches, she paused and reached up to lightly caress a pale bloom. Her mind turned to Kade and immediately, butterflies started flitting around in her stomach. She wondered when they might run into each other again.

 It was one of those days filled with expectancy, but at the same time peace. Kade could remember days like this out on the beaches of Galveston, watching the storm clouds roll in from the sea, blanketing the small town, turning the soft waves that beat the shore into steel. Pausing for a moment in his wanderings, he closed his eyes and just took in the smell of the storm yet to come.
He could almost smell the slight brine of the sea, the same crisp clear tang of air waiting for the cleansing rain. But there was a differnt smell, one he had slowly become aware of with the coming of spring. Cherry blossoms had such a sweet subtle scent, one you didn't expect but could not help but be endeared to. For som reason that thought lead to another one, a soft one, an endearing one.
Opening his eyes, he should have been surprised to see the material of his thoughts come to life under the soft blossoms of the Cherry trees on campus, but he wasn't. Turning his feet unthinkingly, his nearly silent feet quickly made their way to Cirrus's side. Standing behind he, wanted to wrap his arms around her, but instead a soft hand came down on her shoulder.

Smiling to herself, closing her eyes at the memory of the feel of Kade's arms around her, she jumped slightly as a warm weight found itself on her shoulder. Her eyes flew open and slowly she turned her head to glance down at her occupied shoulder. Recognizing the strong, but gentle fingers, a smile danced across her lips. Continuing in the direction she had turned to look in, she turned to face those deep blue eyes she knew would be there. Looking up, she immediately felt herself drowning happily in them.
"So we meet again Mr. Kade," she said softly, her pulse already starting to quicken. He was so close she thought she could feel the warmth of his body being carried to her on the slight breeze. She wanted to throw her arms around him, but contented herself with his nearness and warm, smiling eyes.

As the smile spread across Cirrus's features, a now familar warmth blossomed in his chest. His own smile echoed hers and his eyes sparked with his sudden happieness. As she faced him, he let his hand fall from her shoulder, lightly tracing the length of her arm, he found her hand and lighlty held it in his.
"So we do Ms. Cirrus, and it is to my ruin that we make this second meeting." His words might have come off as odd, but there was a soft joke behind them and his smile held still the warmth of joy at being close to her. Her soft bright locks fell across her silver grey eyes that reflected the steely sky, and he unconciously lifted a hand to tuck it behind her ear out of her face.

Her heart skipped several beats as she felt his fingers run lightly down the length of her arm to find their home in her hand. And it did feel like home. The feel of his rough hand in hers felt as natural as if they'd been doing so their entire lives.
She laughed lightly at his jest, smiling warmer as he gently slipped some of her hair behind her ear. She couldn't help herself. Being so close to him, she wanted to feel his arms around her. She dropped his hand from hers and took the step that was needed to close the space between them to slip her arms around his waist and rest her head against his warm, broad chest.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss you," she smiled contentedly.

Her soft laughter fluttered across his mind, and was gone as she dropped his hand and moved close to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. A moments hesitation and slight confusion was replaced by soft natrual surety he was used to, just not in these cases. His arms lifted to wrap around her and keep her closer. Laying his cheek on the top of her head he smiled softly. She fit so perfectly against him, natural and right.
"Me too." His answer was simple and soft agaisnt her hair.
He was comfortable there, he didn't want to move. The world moving around them didn't exist in Kade's mind, the lifting of the wind, the scurry of passing students, none of it existed. With Cirrus in his arms, the warmth of her against his chest, her heart beating against his. Nothing could pull him from this moment.
A big fat drop of rain landed right on his shoulder, immediatley soaking through his shirt to touch his warm skin with its cold finger. Spring rains were like that, cold and random, seemed it didn't matter what continent you were on. His dark blue eyes cast up to the sky and he gave them a soft glare for their untimley interupption of his peace.
Pulling away from Cirrus only enough to tuck her to his side, one arm still wrapped around her. He began to lead them to one of the little gazebo type things that dotted the campus. His movements were unhurried, the laden rain drops were still slow in their coming. Smiling down at Cirrus he nodded towards the gazebo. "Unless you wanna go inside?"

When Kade had lifted his head from atop hers, she glanced up as well. Promptly a nice cold drop fell onto her cheek. As he turned her away from his chest to hold her against his side, she wiped the drop away with her free hand. As they made their unhurried way to an unoccupied gazebo, she looked up at him at his question. She shook her head no, then promptly pulled away, allowing her hand to slide down his arm and entwine her fingers with his, pulling him up the steps behind her.
The soft patter of the rain starting to pick up its pace on its way to the earth drew a smile from her. There was something almost magical about the way the rain fell. Looking up again into Kade's eyes the world melted away with each drop of rain.
"So tell me Kade, what have you been occupying yourself with since we last met?" she asked, making her way to the far railing to lean back against it, still pulling Kade with her.

Smiling he followed after her, hand entwined with hers, he let her pull him under the shelter of the gazebo just as the rain began to come down, effectively entrenching them in the gazebo till the rain passed. Leaning against the railing, his arm resumed its place around her waist. Looking down at her, his eyes soft looking at her beautiful countenance, touched by the shadow of rain fall beyond, again an unconcious hand came up to run a finger along her jaw line.
"What I have been doing?" He asked smiling. "Passing the time with home work and classes." He said with a shrug. "Thinking of a very lovely lady I met not too long ago." He said, his eyes twinkling. "And how bout yourself Lady." The endearment of the term came back from the other day.

"Really now?" she asked pushing herself away from the rail to move to stand in front of him, her eybrow gracefully arched. "And who might this lovely lady be?" She asked with her own twinkle in her eyes as she attempted a menacing stance.
"As for what I've been doing... pretty much the same. Passing the time with homework and classes. Avoiding my brother. Thinking of you," she said with a smile, stepping closer to him and reaching out to slip both her hands into his.

Smiling broadly as Cirrus moved around to face him, Kade crossed his arms over his chest. He watched her mock menacing and couldn't help but chuckle, he had gotten the response he wanted. When she took hold of his hands, he smiled keenly. With a deft movement he twriled her around, in one movement uncrossing his arms and crossing Cirrus's own across her stomach with his arms around her, and pulling her to him.
"Awww." He said lightly in her ear. "Now I feel bad, you thinking of me and here I am with a Lady on my mind." The name came up again, it was fast becoming a nick name for her. He layed a soft kiss on her temple and lifted his chin to the top of her head, tucking her in against him.

Twirling in a swirl of platinum, Cirrus landed with her back pressed snugly against Kayne's chest. Giggling at her sudden change of position, she leaned happily against him, enjoying the feel of his arms holding her tightly. His whispered words sent chills down her back and she closed her eyes at his gentle kiss. The memory of her departure from him before drifted through her mind. Their lips had been so close she could almost feel them on hers at this very moment. She would give anything for the feel of his lips on hers, but contented herself with the feel of his strong arms squeezing her gently instead. The time for that would come when it was right.
"Your Lady wants to know one thing, Kade," she said softly. "She wants to know if she makes you as happy as you make her."

"Hmmm." His voice hummed through his chest at her words and a sudden smile creased his lips. "You want proof?" He laughed lightly. "I was talking to my sister last night, and I hadn't said anything about you yet, and she asked who had made me so happy?" He smiled fondly at the memory. "Laurel is one of the few who could see how happy I was even over the distance." As he said this he let go of one hand and gently twirled Cirrus around once more, a bemused smile on his lips, as he pulled her against him. "You getting Dizzy yet?"
It seemed everything about her was natural with him. Bending down slightly, he laid his lips on hers. Staying there for a moment, breathing in her scent and her self, he smiled against her lips before pulling away. Still close he looked down at her, softly running his hands through the length of her hair.

Smiling at his honest words, Cirrus felt utterly content. When he released one of her hands she cracked her eyes open in time to be twirled around again, crashing lightly against his chest. She was just about to answer him, when he leaned down and she felt his soft lips press against hers. She was sure he could feel her heart about to burst out of her chest, as she slid her arms up over his muscular chest to drape loosely around his neck, twining a lock of hair around her fingers. When he pulled away, she kept her eyes closed as a smile played across her lips.
"I am now," she breathed, slowly opening her silver eyes to look into his. Pushing herself up on her tip toes, she closed the distance between them and gave him another soft kiss.

With her relaxed against him, Kade was relaxed with her in his arms. The warmth of her arms around his neck, the smell of her, the touch of her lips against his of their own volation, it was intoxicating. As she reached to kiss him, he pulled her closer, lifting her off her feet slightly.
With her in his arms, a few inches off the ground, Kade couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Apart now he gave her nose a slight peck. "So how have you been Lady." He asked randomly and out of context.

Cirrus laughed as her feet left the ground, solely relying on Kade's strength to not drop her.
"I'll admit... I was a bit worried after we parted ways the other day. But I've been grand otherwise. I'm glad to see that you weren't upset by the way our day ended," she replied warmly, then a small frown creased her brow. "You weren't were you?"
