The sunset was truly splendid outside the Ar'Idil Lodge. The sky was painted in brilliant hues of red , purple and orange. It was on of Tobias' favorite parts of the day. He was perched on the windowsill, looking out onto the darkening sky. He loves sunsets, but nighttime had to be his favorite part of the day. The stars were just so pretty to look at.
"Tobias. Be careful on that windowsill. We don't want you falling off." Jizzy called out to the gryphon as she came back into the main room witha cup of strong tea in hand. It had to be strong, or else Jizzy wouldn't be able to taste it. Settling down in a chaiir by Tobias' window she looked out.. "Lovely, isn't it?"
Tobias hooped in approval. It was very nice indeed. Shuffling his paws so that they wouldn't slip off the ledge he perched himself more comfortably to watch the sunset.

Sanar and Chao were also watching the sunset, except from outside the village. The duo was down by the ocean, watching as the ocean seemed to lap up the sun as it slowly dipped beneath the horizon.
Sanar yawned a little, tuckered from swimming and running and playing in the sand. Her bag was heavy with new shells and shiny bits of sea glass.
All in all it'd been a good day.
Chao ran her fingers through Sanar's thick hair, humming to her daughter. Her long hair was down, pooled in a small pile near her but, still drying from a day of swimming and chasing Sanar.
She looked down, bluegrey eyes meeting Sanar's, "so luv, what do you say? Shall we raid the Lodge for some chocolate before we go home?"
Sanar grinned brightly and nodded her assent and the two got up.

In the distance of the beach a small boat was approaching the shore. It got closer as the sun dipped lower and as twilight overtook the island it landed ashore. Stepping out regally from the cart, a tall, balack haired man emerged from the boat, looking about.. He looked almsot noble.. Glancing about he nodded and set for.. "Hello?" He called out softly, searchign for somone on the island.. "Hello?"

Sanar perked as the soft call reached her ears, pausing and causing Chao to nearly trip over her own feet.
Shaking her head the guardian looked to her daughter, "what is it San?"
Sanar made a curious face, wings flapping lightly, "out der der's some'un," she pointed in the general direction of the voice.
"Oh..." Chao tilted her head, "well, maybe it's a guardian we haven't met yet, hrm?"
"Maybeh."
"Should we go say 'hello'?"
"Mmm.. hmm!" Sanar nodded after a moment and, tugging at her mother's hand, set off in the direction of the voice.

The man, David, continued walking forth as night overcame the island. His brown eyes could see through the darkness with ease. He could see two figures somewhere ahead. Though one, no, both of them, he knew were not even remotely human.. "HellO? Excuse me?" He called out a bit louder so that they could hear up ahead. His pace sped up and his face broke into a smile, fangs baring. He may have finally found what he'd been looking for.

No jars, no gryph, no child. Chao halted and pulled Sanar to a stop alongside her. On Ar'Idil she's managed to do away with much of her ingrained paranoia but occassionally it decided to rear its ugly head.
Sanar blinked as her mother pulled her back to stand beside her, "Mu?" she asked, the frown on her mother's lips were curious, espically since she was usually as eager to meet new people as Sanar herself was.
"Who's there?" Chao called, giving Sanar's hand a squeeze.

Finally catching up to the teen and the child, David's smile grew wider, revealing his sharp pearly whites. "My name is David. I am searching for someone I believe to be on this island.. Could.. Could you please help me?" He said, the last sentence slipping into a tone of near desperation.

David...? The name hit raised some sort of warning sign in the back of Chao's brain.
Sanar tilted her head, giving the fanged man a curious look, "you mouth is veeerrry pointy," she said, rather matter of factly, adding a nod for emphasis.
Chao gave Sanar's head a pat, casting her daughter an amused smile before turning serious as she looked back to David. She wasn't frightened by the fact that the man seemed to have fangs, she'd met plenty of nice fanged people in her life, but it did give her added reason to be slightly wary incase this was all a ploy and he was out to massacre the Ar'Idilians.
"I don't know if I can help. Who're you looking for and where'd you come from?"

"This woman.." He said, shuffling in his pockets and pullign out a crumpled sketch of Jizzy, only with much longer hair. "Her name is Mahlah.. I met her in Earth and I've been looking for her ever since.. Is.. is she here?" He asked hoepfully, holding out the sketch to Chao as if hoping that if she looked at it hard enough, she would give him the answer he wanted.

Chao peered at the picture closely. How bizarre, it actually resembled Jizzy... but no, name (not to mention the hair) was all wrong... or was it right? Nah, wrong.
"Nope, never heard of her, so sorry," she said with a grin.
Sanar tilted her head at the paper... "it lo's like Tobais' mum.... jus a lil' though."

David's face seemed to fall instantly. "Oh. Oh, well I'm sorry for the trouble.." He said, his tone almost pahetically sad as he placed the sketch back into his coat pocket.. "Well.. Is there any hope there may be, I don;t know, an empty cottage, a cave, a empty room, where I could stay? I'll never make it back to shore by sunrise." He said, looking out into the twilight before turning back to Chao, not looking her in the eye though the whole conversation.

Chao felt just a little sorry for the poor guy and that feeling only increased as he talked. He looked like a puppy someone had shoved out in the rain and the poor teen's tell tale weakness for lost things reared it's ugly head immediately.
Chao twitched and Sanar spoke while her mother was still debating.
"We haff a house!" the Aerandir child said brightly, "'s dark 'n dere. Point mouth man could stay there."
Chao sighed, "she's right, you could...."

David smiled this little awkward smile, as if he was much to shy to smile fully. "It'd just be for the day.. A closet would work wonderfully if possible. I have to leave at sunset tommrowo anyways." His face saddened once more. "I was sure I'd find her here.."
It was night already when Jizzy finished her tea and Tobias let out a sleepy hoop. He was tired. Climbing off the windowsill, he tumped as a ball onto the floor, then uncurled himself and toddled into her bag, where he lay on the sheets she kept for him there.
Juzzy watched her charge and smiled. It was his bedtime. Getting up and rinsing out ehr teacup in the ktichen, she returned to the bag and hitched it up onto her shoudler, heading out towards her home. Before she reached it though, she spotted Chao and Sanar and, someone else. Assuming it was a friend of thier, she moved closer waving at Chao before the moonlight sent David's face into sharp relief. "David?!" She exclaimed, much to loudly to be a nightime voice.

Chao looked up and tilted her head, "hey Jizzy, you know this guy?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
Sanar grinned as Tobais' mum came into sight, "'allo Tobais Mum!" she caled, waving a hand in greeting.

David's head spun round and his eyes widened, hsi lips curling into a smile. "Mahlah!" He shouted and rushed to her, his arms open to give her a grand hug, as if hey were old friends.
Jizzy stopped him though, palcing her hand heavily on his chest. Her eyes were confused. "Why do you look and sound like David? He should have been dead years ago.." She said, studying his face.
"That's cause I AM David. Please Mahlha.. Please.. I've been looking for you for centuries.." He said, his eyes taking on a puppy dog sheen as his arms dropped from the rejected hug.
Jizzy shook her head and looked past him to Chao. "Good evening Chao." She gulped. "Great night for ghosts, isn't it?" She seemed chockd up, refusing to look at David.
"Mahlah.. I.. we were going to get married.. Don;t you remmeber?" He pleaded.
This made Jizzy snap though and tears flowed freely from her eys as she turned furious to David. "I remember how you left me to HANG!" She shouted, waking Tobias who stirred and jumped from the bag, spotting Sanar and curling up by her feet. His mother's voice ahd scared him.
