This is seriously a WTFHAX moment.
Since sixth grade, I've been seeing a pediatric enthircrinologist [harhar, I can't spell] because of delayed puberty or something. Basically, she told me to eat more, blablabla. Anyways, in the summer from seventh to eighth grade, she said that I would hit puberty this year and that I can stop seeing her.
So I'm fourteen and I remain unpubertized.
Advice/thoughts/comments/etc?

How much do you weigh?
No serious, if your a skinny thang your body might not be able to mensturate without causing your harm.
I believe it's a 14% BMI that is the limit for being able to mensturate. usually most girl have there first period once they hit over 105 pounds.
but don't worry if you are over that weight have yet to start. these things take time. My grandmother didn't start her period till she was 17!
I should wait untill your 15th birthday, if it hasn't arrived by then you can go to the doctors and voice your concern. 3nodding

lunashock http://kidshealth.org/teen/sexual_health/changing_body/delayed_puberty.html I was told (and this was years ago so might not be accurate) is that it's not uncommon to go up to age 16 before it happens. I would just discuss this with your doctor and make an appointment to discuss this. I agree.. I had a friend in HS who was 16, and he was still all short and girly-sounding... and then I graduated, and when I saw him a couple years later he towered over me and had all that manliness goin' on and such. O: Just be happy you're not having to deal with it yet. XD; TREASURE THIS TIME YOU HAVE WITH A v****a THAT DOTH NOT SPEW BLOOD EVERY SO OFTEN.

I have heard, and been told, that if you don't have it by the time you're 18, then you should be concerned. Anything before 18 is pretty normal.
If you're worried, talk to your doctor. But to not have it by 14 sounds pretty normal to me.

Omg, okay this is not a big thing! You can be 17 or 18 and still not have hit puberty (although then we pull into question how much estrogen you have. SO off topic) I didn't even get boobs until the end of grade eight. I was flat and I didn't wear a bra and then BAM I got a C cup which is now a DD. Point being, quit trying to grow up so fast! You don't want to have your period! It sucks! Growing boobs hurts and the extra hormones and acne are not fun!

She's not trying to grow up too fast, she's just lacking the information and general knowledge that what she's going through is indeed normal. No need to jump down her throat for it. sweatdrop

Yeah, puberty sucks for everyone. As a young kid, lots of people think 'it's great! You become an adult!' But there's the bloating, the body growing hair in places you didn't have before, the general plague aspect of acne... Oy. I'd never want to go through it again.
It's perfectly normal to feel that way about it. I was scared shitless about having my period, and now it's ... well, eh. It's my period. I cope. Doesn't mean I like it all the time.
There were girls in high school who developed at 12, and others who did at 18. 13-14 would be 'normal' I guess, but I think that's all perception and bias.
It'll come at the most inconvenient time possible, though wink That's just a law.

i was 10 when i got mine and like 85 pounds, but i had already started the breasty biz of puberty. a Lot of people say: "OH THE PAIN!!!" "shut get away from me" and stuff like that. for me it doesnt hurt. i dont get moody and its not a problem. same thing with my friend who lied about stuffing her bra, which means she lied about her period too. when i first got mine i didnt tell my mom until i got the first talk. so dont make the same mistake i did, tell your mom!

._. So odd...I was 109 pounds when I got mine. xD
Did your mother have the same issues? If so, it could be something in the family line. I watched a movie, and they said that 15-16 is the time you should get worried.
There is this girl in my grade who hasn't yet. (I am also 14) and she's very tiny. .__.
One tip: Don't try to rush it! I don't know how you could, but if there is a way for you to make puberty come faster, I'm sure that it isn't safe, and would hurt your body more then helping it.
but you are to that age where you could get your period. So you might want to carry around a pad. (Just in case, it could be coming while you read this. *The horror movie special*)

My aunt was 17 when she got hers.
It's different for everyone, but 'normal' age range is bout 8 to 14 I think confused but that's crap. I would suggest that if it doesn't come by the time you're 18, then enquire about it.
The longer you're without, the better.
No pads, no tampons, no cramps, no pill, no pregnancy biggrin
