Locked due to inactivity. If a wish to continue the RP should arise, it can be unlocked.
RP type: Feral, magic, furre
Open to: Everyone
Posting order: None
~~~~~Setting~~~~~ A series of forests' long ago seperated from their homeworld. Furres, feral, and the RARE human type all coexisted here with no technology. Magic was seemingly the only amazing thing to this place, common to even ferals.
Trees of all kinds were here, the majority of which was earth-based though. Occasionally one would come across a tree which appeared organic, some even managing to move from spot to spot throughout the night.
Water was of the purest type, clear as glass. The fish in this world were... Odd, some seeming to be yards long, others were thin as paper. Always avoid those that were bright red though, for they were poisonous, and every creature in this new world knew that. Certain knowledge was implanted during the 'transfer,' enough to survive and live comfortably.
As of this moment in time, there were no threats other than natural predators... In the distance though was a red sky, another sun. No sound came from here, but occasionally one could see the eruption of a volcano, still no sound. Nothing to worry about though, just 'natural' occurences.
~~~~~Notes~~~~~ This is an RP to pass the time. It is left widely open to allow it to develope, and allow people to have fun with what they want.
~~~~~Posting Order~~~~~ There is none. Simply state which post you are responding to (~ElemDS)
A female furre of slight build creeps around the trees. From head to toe, she is either black or white, from her white falls of hair to her black, star-tipped tail. As she slunk from tree trunk to tree trunk, she kept watch on the trail, eagerly awaiting the approach of a passer-by. She was hungry. It had been days since her last meal, which may have accounted for the slight protrusion of her ribs from beneath her shirt. Spotting a suitable tree, she lept up into its branches, white-tufted ears and black cut-offs disappearing into the foliage.
A small feral creature, sharing similarities to both canine and feline. Large ears sprouting fron it's head, twitching eagerly at every sound. Smooth back leading to two very prehensile tails. They moved slowly back and forth as he walked down the trail, nose pushed to the ground as he followed a scent. He was pure white and silvery fur, blue eyes, and beneath the fur and on the palms, pink skin. At least he had been eating healthily, he had found vegetable patches and fruit trees along the way.
A new scent.
His ears perked and he began to run along the trail, them came to an abrupt stop as it halted. He looked around, left, then right... Then up.... He could smell something above him. Tails twitched back and forth, a slight energy forming between them.
"Mrew..." He released a quiet, rather cute sound in an attempt to gain attention.
At the approach of another, the furs along her back bristle. As the other creature draws nearer, she lowers herself down, sniffing the air for a clue to the new-comer's identity. At the base of her tree, it had grown to close. A deep, guttural sound emerges from her throat by way of warning. "Mrrrowwww."
The other's soft, non-threatening exclamation catches her off guard. Poking her face through the leaves, she peers at the other, eye to eye. Gazing at the other, her hard-set expression softens.
"Well, come up or don't. Just don't stay down there and frighten off my next meal."
He had backed away slightly at the first warning, though returned when he heard her speak. Head tilted slightly as he 'watched' her, tails still twitching behind him. He had let the energy die out for now, finding no threat.
Slowly he moved forward, placing one paw on the tree trunk, then the other. He stayed still for a moment, stretching his back. Standing like this, he couldn't have been more than 3 and a half feet stretched out.
Then, an odd thing happened, he began to walk, up the tree... It was as if gravity didn't effect him as he walked up, not using claws, or gripping, just walking. Once he was close to her he jumped up onto the branch, standing next to her. He just stood there, watching her curiously, then he moved forward pushing his head against her side. Another quiet sound escaped him.
The furre's violet eyes grew wide with surprise as the newcomer strolled up the tree to meet her on her branch. She dug in her back claws to pull herself up, sliding easily back into position. It was a graceful moment, but not nearly so effortless as the other's. She examined him a little more closely. He was a little thing, a little less than a foot shorter than her.
Her new companion's head makes contact with her side and, yet again, she is surprised. She conceals it though, pulling herself into a sitting position and looping her tail around her, legs dangling from her branch. A ghost of a smile passes over her lips. After a few moments of easy silence, she says,
"Friendly little thing aren't yah? Don't worry too much about what I said, about being quiet. There hasn't been anyone through here for days. I don't suppose you have any food on you, do yah?"
She doesn't look at him. She's ashamed to be asking for handouts, though she doesn't think it very likely he's got any anyways. But her hunger outweighs her pride.
Finally he pulled away, looking to her as she spoke. Head occasionally tilted to the side, ears twitching. He leaned forward again and pushed his head against her, before turning...
He launched from the tree, landing on the ground with a slight roll, then running. He dissappeared into some bushes, growling sounds came from them, then the bushes shook. Then, he emerged from them again, walking back to her with pride. In his mouth he carried a few things, oddly enough... It seemed he had used a large leaf to place a now dead rabbit... Around it and atop it were berries of various kinds.... He was fast, or showing off.
Once again he walked back up the tree, the 'bag' to seemed to show no gravity, as the way it hung from his mouth, it might as well have been the tree that was ground. Once again he jumped the rest of the way to her branch, walking up and standing there...
He didn't move, just watched her, waiting for her to take notice of his bounty.... A gift, one might say.
The cat-girl watches the she-doesn't-know-what disappear into the woods, presuming that it was her request for food that had sent him running. Great. Frightened off a potential friend. She's in the middle of scolding herself when the creatures comes bounding back, leaf in mouth. Her own mouth hangs slightly agape at the present. Tentatively, she accepts the leaf-wrapped gift, unfolding it with care. As soon as the meat is exposed though, she finds herself consuming it in only a few bites. Afterwards, she licks her paws greedily before raising her eyes to meet the gaze of the other. "Thank you.." She murmurs, bashful and grateful in equal measure. "I hadn't eaten for days..really..thanks.." She considers this mysterious friend a moment, before offering; "I'm Ava."
He had watched her eat, slowly moving to sit his hind on the branch. He licked his lips a few times, leaning forward to snag a berry from the leaf and munch on it. Afterwards he licked his lips again and sat up to look at her. If he could have grinned, he would have. He dipped his head slightly when she spoke her thanks and name.
"Mrew..." That was his only responce, seeing as he couldn't exactly... Speak to her. His two tails twirled around each other, giving the illusion that he only had one.
In a very large lake, something stirred. Something big. REAL big. An enormous shadow appeared and started moving towards the shore. Swells in the water rose and rippled out accross the entire lake. Suddenly a gigantic creature finally rose out of the depths and began lumbering to the shore. It was migration time.
The humongous Legothid had been asleep under the lakebed for years, and had finally awoken, and now began its journey to the sea. Each footstep shook the ground for many yards around it. Tall, proud trees, all but the oldest and strongest, snapped like twigs in its path. It paid no mind to whatever creatures lied in its path. And soon it was joined by its brethren, thundering through the forest in a steady, growing cocophony.
Legothids... the true titans of the world. They were a generally peaceful race, though they often caused considerable damage to anything that should happen to be in their way during migration, simply by accident. They were giant, dark-colored things, with glowing green eyes as big and ornate as chandaliers turned sideways. They were roughly humanoid, with high shoulders and stonelike scales covering their body, glinting in the sun.
Amongst the various panicked wildlife currently scattering at the feet of one such creature, was a young foxlike creature, with tassles on his ears and odd, birghtly colored markings on his ears, tail, and various other places. His fur was mainly white, but his markings were.... well, currently bright green, dark blue, and yellow, with golden sparkles glinting around the floating tassles on his ears. He was quadrupedal- at least, at the moment- and was currently using all four paws to dart this way and that under the giants feet, trying to avoid being crushed both by the megaliathan and the other fleeing creatures in the woods. He was fast, but unfortunately had been dozing right up until it was almost right over him, so he had gotten a late start in the parade of escaping animals.
He also had the magic to contend with... with all the various other creatures of the forests instinctively flinging magic out of sheer surprise at the Legothid, he had to avoid being zapped, turned into things, being frozen, etcetera etcetera. He tried using his own magical abilities to teleport himself away, but with his current energy level, he could only zap himself a few feet, so he only managed to narrowly avoid obstacles with it.
His name was Qylk, and this was not his day.
Sev had wandered away from the cat-girl quite some time ago, grazing simple berries and herbs. He was enjoying himself, occasionally flinging a berry into the air, then catching it again with his mouth. Then, just as he was about to repeat the process, the ground shook, knocking him to the his belly. A quiet whine escaped him.
The ground shook again, his ears perked.
Sev quickly got up, looking around frantically, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. His twin tails twisted around each other, curling between his hind legs to protect themselves.
The ground shook again, thunderous sounds in the air. Sev took off running the opposite way.
He hadn't been running long when he came across a peculiar looking fox, one that was intriguing. He took in stride next to him, dodging magics, brush, tree trunks, and everything else. He hadn't bothered making himself known, but he didn occasionally cross right in front, or right behind the fox, Qylk.
Sev let out a loud yelp when another, larger creature nearly stepped on him, he had instinctively let out a burst of energy, stunning it and probably leaving it in harms way.... He didn't care right now, he had to move!
With ears laid back, body low to the ground, he was running at full speed to keep up with Qylk, he didn't know why he was keeping up with him, he just was.
The energy burst, like most of the other magical energies being zapped around, merely bounced off the towering creature's scales. Legoliths were known to be highly magic-resistant creatures. It continued on its course, totally unaware of the chaos at its feet.
Qylk barely had time to take notice of his new travelling companion, but he did manage a quick glance. But before he could say anything he nearly ran into a tree and had to blink to the other side. He panted heavily, beginning to wear down. It became somewhat easier, though, because apparently they were now in the beaten path of another lumbering giant, now long gone. There were broken trees and enormous footprints everywhere, but at least the path was more visible.
As soon as it seemed safe to do so, he veered off to one side, out of the giant's way, accidentally landing on a deer-like creature's back, who immediately sprang to life and started running full-speed into the thicket. He jumped off just in time to hit a tree and the edge of the clearing. He fell to the ground with a thud. Most creatures would have been knocked unconcious or in severe pain. But, while he definately was in some pain, he made it seem rather minute, and only swayed some once he stood up, wobbling around dizzily, and almost bumped into Sev.
"Gnu blleb gribble fnib?" he gibbered as he tried to balance himself again, his eyes rolling around almost cartoonishly. Finally he shook himself to his senses. He almost immediately wished he'd stayed dizzy. With the ache and exhaustion catching up with him now that the adrenaline had subsided, he flopped on his side, panting hard. "Unnh... I HATE migration days."
Sev followed Qylk closely, and when he 'blinked' to the other side, he had to do a double take, before running around the tree, taking off after him again. When the other veered off, so did he, jumping from the ground to a tree stump, then back to the ground occasionally.
When the other almost bumped into him, Sev pushed forward, pressing his head against Qylk to help steady him. He was panting lightly, having expelled a lot of energy.
"Sowwry.. I don't understand gibberish.. And I had no idea that there were such big creatures." He was 'speaking' in a tongue that only a feral, or someone that understood feral could understand. Tails behind him uncurled and began to weave in the air behind him, occasionally a 'bolt' of energy going between them.
Qylk sat down and licked his paw, then smoothed some of his headfur down. He had a slightly strange air to him... he still seemed somehow sort of... cartoony, in a way. His eyes were slightly too big and shiny, his fur stayed frizzed up even after he tried to smooth it out, his limbs and body seemed slightly dis-proportional, and despite what should have been a nearly-lethal collision with the tree, he seemed only merely dizzified by the incedent. Eventually, though he actually started to appear more normal as the dizzyness fully wore off. His eyes looked more normal, his fur smoothened out, his body shifted to a somewhat more sane-looking form, and the goofy grin on his face subsided, and his eyes stopped rolling.
"Heh, thanks, and don't mind me. That bonk on the head must've screwed my stability up for a moment." He finally looked at Sev and smiled, talking in the same feralish language. "Yeah, those thing usually only show up about once every ten years or so, though they've been known to stay asleep for over a hundred. Annywho, I'm Qylk. What's your name?"
Sev was enjoying watching him, occasionally reaching up to brush out his muzzle, as if hiding his eyes... Like he was laughing. Finally, once Qylk seemed to be all better, Sev moved forward and dropped to the ground before him. Head moved to rest by his paws, pushing against them gently.
"I haven't been here long.. I go from place to place.. I used to live underground even, once." He mrewed quitly, pushing his head even more against Qylk's paws. "I'm Sev... PLease to not be crushed by those things, and nice to meetcha."
