I was just curious, how many gods and goddesses are there in Wicca and what are they associated with? (ie...Roman God Bacchus= god of wine, etc.)

~ In WICCA there is the god and the goddess. That is all. I mean there is the triple goddess but it's all the same goddess just different stages of her being but yeah that's all. In new age people pick up a bajillion different deities from wherever they like. Some people like to claim "ecclectic" wicca and have a whole lot of deities, but it is new age with wiccan influence. 3nodding ~

I believe in the God and Goddess. If it takes a man and women to create a child, it will take a God and a Goddess to create mankind.

Aren't all Female Goddesses the same goddess, as well with the Gods, the same God. Just in different Masks?

Well, um I only believe in the goddess and a god. Im not sure where more than two come in at but there are different embodyments and such. I am actually typing up something like this for Krist so I might post it here as well.

I don't think that you can be Wiccan without believing in any Gods or Goddesses at all.
In Wicca, there is a lot of balance. In order for your magick to work, you must have the spiritual belief in there.

If you don't believe in any Gods or Goddesses, doesn't that make you athiest? And if you choose to believe in only either the God or Goddess, doesn't that make you monotheistic, and Wicca is polytheistic? sweatdrop

I am currently studying the Norse pantheon of gods and goddesses....but then I am pagan, as opposed to wiccan.

I know wiccans who use any number of the gods picked from mythology, every mythology from egyptain to norse. So there are as many as you feel the need to work with.

i follow hecate and cernunos and you may call it culture rape or what ever but i think that these are speciffic attributes of the god and goddess and not just wanting to sound cool, and besides is it up to anyone to judge what gods choose who?
