Anyone know any Halloween Myths? I know one, it sound kind of dumb actually, but since we're on the subject, I'll share it. On Halloween night, five minutes before midnight, if a girl sits before a mirror, brushes her hair, and takes one bite out of a red apple she can see her future husband?
So, does anyone know any other Halloween myths? Has anyone tried any? xd What? It could be worth a laugh. Plus, I'm bored. sweatdrop

You have to wear costumes on Halloween so that demons and ghosts will think you are one of them and not possess you.

OOOH!
The offering of candy(food) is a tradition passed from the Celtic Holiday Samhain and was intended to satisfy the spirits of the dead. Sometimes evil spirits would come to one's door and check to see if the inhabitants were friendly. The inhabitants proved this by offering food to whomever knocked. If they didn't then when they slept that night the evil spirits were allowed by gods to smite the household. So, the stiffs who don't offer candy shall be smited! Buahahaha!

Dia de los muertos....one of my favorite holidays...To expand on what oblivious said, family members of the deceased leave offerings of favorite foods and objects of the deceased on the grave. They also clean up the grave and decorate it with all sort of trinkets and a specific yellow carnation (i forget what it's called). They then make a trail of petals of the yellow carnation back to their house. This is so the spirit of the deceased can find their way back to the house. Inside the house, the family sets up a kind of alter in memory of the deceased. They cover it with favorite things, pictures, and favorite things of the deceased, as well as skulls and toy skeletons, (some of the skulls and skeltons are even made of sugar!)
I could seriously go on for hours.... sweatdrop

@ Reistera - Yep. Last year in Spanish we learned all about that. It was pretty interesting actually. I bet it looks cool too, with all the graves cleaned up and flower petals everywhere. eek It would be a lot different from here where all people do to graves is kick the tombstones over or something. Stupid asses. I'd like to take those tombstones and beat them over the heads with it. I myself like graveyards and hate it when I see stuff like that.
@ [x]Living Dead Girl[x] - Oh, good, I'm not getting forgetful as well as crazy. Yet.
@ Oblivious666 - For the kids in my elementary school last year, they let the kids make masks and go out and have a parade-like thing that week and go running outside and through the halls.
