The broken ankle thing is just a work, remember Orton is being suspended for 90 days, it's just a storyline thing to cover for it.

I'm the one that broke the suspension news (so yeah I know). This isn't a cover. They might fake injury on the shows, but they have never fabricated a story like that on WWE.Com. Not to mention people that I have talked to that went to the taping of SD said this was exactly what happened and it looked UGLY.

Also.. why would they mention in the writeup about the suspension and play THIS as storyline?

*shrugs* Either way he's gone for 2 months if not 6.

if not at all. bleh, if he does come back he needs to get his act together and stop being a b***h to everyone.

It's just wwe's way of punishing him I guess, have him lose to Rey, have him tap to Angle...even though he was supposed to be suspended straight away>_>

I still don't think that the Angle thing was a work, but...

I really think it's crap that they let him stay for SD (his suspension happened prior to taping, but on theday of SD) even after he was suspended. Granted he was on the card for the night, but... suspension for something like that is serious. Being a woman mahself I would have kicked him in the nuts if he got to stay at the event after being suspended. I think it's s**t.

You're right. He needs to get his crap straight. He's not a bad wrestler, but from what it appears to be, he's a crappy person. There's usually room for that in the WWE, but when it boarders sexual harassment... that's a different story all together. They need to get him a bitchy girlfriend to put him in his place LOL.

his suspension actually started on Wednesday the 12th and Smackdown was taped on tuesdays. I don't think this is a work because a broken ankle doesn't heal in 8 weeks it usually takes 16 weeks to completely heal.

yeah but do you think everyone would know that?
For the purposes of a storyline I wouldnt put it past them to completely ignore a fact like thatXD

They are doing an angle (no pun intended) where Kurt wins the match then breaks Randy's ankle. Why they are doing this when WWE.com already announced his suspension is beyond me, but yeah.
Besides, during the match I heard Orton say something like "It's broken"...I'm sure if this weren't an angle he wouldnt announce it like that.

Or.......it could really be broken, and he was telling Angle so that he didn't accidentally make it worse. Please tell me you don't think people never actually get hurt in pro wrestling. Injuries do happen all the time, they just know how to cover it extremely well.

Of course I know that, i'm not stupidXD I just honestly believe this thing with Angle is a work.

*edit* Okay, here's how I see it, and of course you're all entitled to point and laugh at me if this turns out not to be a work...but anyway, here's my opinion:

The way I see it, the Ankle Lock is a move wherein the person who is 'putting you in it' has full control over the amount of pressure applied to your ankle.
It's not a move like for e.g. a Piledriver where there is a risk that an accident could happen resulting in a real injury, this is why I feel the Orton ankle break is a work.
In order to 'break' Orton's ankle for real, Kurt would have actually had to apply a lot of pressure...y'know, and really break it on purpose.

I know Angle doesnt really like Orton at all backstage, but I think it's a bit unrealistic to say he would actually break his ankle for real.

Good riddance. He suspension is nowhere near long enough in my eyes. Granted, I wouldn't wish personal injury on anyone, but he's really not entertaining and I geel he's getting a free ride. I personally don't watch Smackdown! (HBK is on RAW XD), but I remember a long a** time ago that Ken Shamrock actually broke someone's ankle, and you could HEAR the snap. It was ugly. So i doubt that the ankle was broken unless you could hear it.

Totally agree. I heard that there was talks of him not coming back at all. But I mean obviously WWE wouldnt fire him just for the simple reason that TNA wont get their hands on him afterXD

Was he going through one of his zones? or wtf his gimmick was....wait, shamrock had a gimmick?XD

Also, look at the hammy face pulling skills of Orton on the match photos, like "oooowww, my ankle;____;:O"

Yeah, at the end of the match he tried to extend it while the refs were around him and Angle did indeed break his ankle.

Having now seen Smackdown, i guess we're all a bit better off for making opinions known. I do have to say that Orton is a bit of an over-actor. What you're saying about Angle being in control of the move is exactly right. Except for one thing...Orton does a good job of selling the "pain" by flailing around all over the place. I noticed that the last time Angle came back to apply the move, Orton started with the same flail and scream thing. Then he flopped on his back and kicked Angle in the head (you can see Angle's mouthpiece almost come flying out). I take that as a sign that something really did happen, because that's how i would react if my ankle snapped. I'm sure it was unintentional, because whatever his personal feelings about someone, Kurt Angle is foremost a professional, and an extreme one at that. But if you have a joint immobilized, and someone turns a certain way (as in the flailing around that Orton was doing) if the joint can't turn with the movement, something has to give. I do think it is a real injury, and that it was a complete accident. My only, and i do mean only, problem with the reality of it was the camera at the end. It was a huge coincidence that the camera happened to be right there to hear Orton's final words of "It's broken" just before they cut to end the show. Looks like someone's video editors are getting much better recently.

keep in mind, I don't think that Angle did it, if you watched the show and saw the way they both landed out of the ring after that superplex attempt, that could've hurt his ankle first thus making his ankle hurt worse when Angle did his submission...and then think about this, Angle is a shooter (like the APA or Ken Shamrock) so if that's at all possible, Angle could be punishing Orton for reasons beyond our knowledge
