They ran. Ran and ran. Ran so much it seemed that they would run forever if they were merely given the chance. But like all things that happened with chance, they did not always go according to plan or the way one would have liked it to go.
A murder of crows had been aroused by the heaving running of the pair. Such exercise often signaled a hunt, which often meant meal time for the crows. They didn't really eat fresh meat, but rather waited until the wolves had left their kill unattended before they swooped in to gorge their birdy bellies. This time, however, it seemed a meal was not included in the package; suddenly, one wolf stopped, the other probably soon to follow as it seemed they were in each other's company.
Unaware of the birds, but certainly aware of something else, Mozelle let her paws cease in their quick steps. "Gareth," she whispered hurriedly, fearing that there would be at least sentries posted at some posts.
"Do you smell that?" she asked, her own light nose twitching back and forth restlessly as she seemed to scent the air.
The air was drenched with the scent of many wolves, all lingering in with one another in some way or another. It seemed to be a pack's border's, but by one outstanding smell out of the whole bunch alerted her to the danger the brown male could be in; she was still uncertain of how Phib would react to his son's appearance.
Worriedly, she sacrificed a quick glance in his direction.
"Do you wish to go on?" she asked carefully, the female's words slowly leaving her maw. He had courage, she knew, but perhaps not when it came to confronting his own father.

Mozelle merely stood there, unresponding to the male. Her tail, however, twitched effortlessly to show that she had indeed heard him, while violet eyes searched the landscape ahead of them. She hadn't actually been on Phib's lands before, she had just noted the origin of his scent one random day and had made a mental note, as she had with all smells that enter that detector they called a nose.
Suddenly she turned to him. "Oh nonsense, you could have very well done this on your own," she mumbled, looking him straight in the eyes. "You have courage, Gareth. You just need to see that." The stare was broken as she again turned her attention towards Phib's lands.
"Maybe we should howl," the female randomly suggested. Where she had come from, it was forbidden to enter another's land without an invitation. To do so would mean death for a wolf. And being an alpha only made the rules all the more important to her. If she broke it, her pack would see it as alright and would break it too. And that, she certainly knew, would cause chaos.
"You don't have to if you don't want to," she went on, speaking softly but still not looking at the male beside her. But then her head suddenly and gracefully turned to face him. Curious orbs fixed his. Silently, she was speaking to him. Eyes spoke more than words, often times, and now she was relying on it to get a message to Gareth. Be strong, it said, I know you can.
And with that, Mo broke her gaze and lifted her head to the sky, cracking open her maw only slightly to let forth a great yet warm howl.
'I am here!' the howl said.

Mozelle's body lay hunched over for a few minutes more. Even as Phib spoke to her, she continued to mourn. His words didn't do much to help her and she found herself to be weeping silently. Her mind cried out again, the whole of its content unable to really accept the fact that her mate was gone. He hadn't been killed, because there was no blood as Phib had mentioned, but he might as well have been. Gone would he have been either way, and she was quite unstable now.
She ignored all others as she was engulfed into her own world, a nasty place filled only with sadness, darkness, and tears. Violet eyes remained closed all the while she mourned, their magcificent colors hidden from view. Ears pressed back against her skull as she suddenly took in a deep breath, as if finally coming to life and realizing that she must live out her life and continue on with things, Kapu or no Kapu.
But it was frightful for the female to glance up with teary eyes and see the one who so closely resembled her old companion and mate. Even the scars were similar, though this alpha seemed to have a few more. Nonetheless, it was all too emotional for her.
Gareth, however, brought her back into the real world with his shout. She hadn't noticed Ame looking him in the eyes and was unaware of the fright the seer had given the male, and so she randomly thought that perhaps his own thoughts had frightened him again.
Instantly Mo was nosing his face and licking at his ears. Her own sorrow was forgotten in a moment as instincts took over. Gareth was troubled, scared out of his wits. She had to help him.
"Be calm, Gareth," she whispered soothingly. "Be calm."
Then the spotted wolf backed off slightly and glanced back at Phib. Immediately she was reminded of Kapu, and she lowered her head and averted her eyes to the ground.
She remained silent for a while, unable to cope with the black alpha in sight.

Mozelle quickly straightened herself when the brown male leaned into her. A broken heart leapt suddenly as she glanced down at the other. It had been a long while since she had really been a mother, and yet now she randomly felt shoved into it. But no one had forced onto her, at least no one but her own self. She had taken it upon herself to look after the male, to protect him from any threat that had the intent of harming. And she planned to do just that.
Coming out of her sorrow, she finally decided that her mourning had to be put on hold for the moment. Gareth needed her and she wouldn't dare deny him after all the support she had shown him thus far. Blinking slowly, the spotted female watched as Phib seemed to be fighting with himself. He didn't want to talk with his son, it was obvious. But then she figured that he knew it must be done, and that was why he eventually gave in.
Eyes still pleading, Mo watched the two figured retreat. Her ears perked forward as she listened intently. If anything happened, she would be darting to his aid in an instant.
Once she could no longer hear the two males, which was a bit before Ame, she then turned towards the seer. "Yes, too much," she agreed, sighing and bowing her head slightly. Yet then she attempted to change the mood. Such feelings were dangerous when about for too long.
"But no matter... they always seem to get better in the end. How are you, my good friend?" Mozelle then asked, settling down close to the other, though whether it was for comfort or not she didn't know.
