Jay showed up on Joi's poarch about a half hour before sunset, the sun was staring to set actually, as he landed on the poarch and turned and looked at it. Just in time, I really hope I'm not late, I don't want to look like I stood her up, not after how far we've come now. He smiled and walked to the door, lifting his hand and wrapping at it with his knuckles, giving it three sounds taps. He heard footsteps coming from the hall and the door opened.
Vale stood there holding Lucius in one arm, his face went from 'happy father' to, 'Oh, it's you" in a matter of seconds. "Jay," Vale jerked his head a moment. "Joi told me you would be stopping by for dinner..." The tone of his voice told Jay more than enough about how he felt about THAT little detail. "So, please, DO come in." Because the faster you get in here, the sooner you can LEAVE! He stood to one side and watched Jay as he entered.
Lucius gave Jay a smile, the child was hugging onto his father, obviously playing a game of some sort. He waved his hand at Jay, and smiled. "Hi Jay!" He said loudly, proudly showing off how much bigger he was now.
Vale looked at him a moment and shook his head, carrying Lucius into the living room to put him down. "Joi! Your boy to... Boy friend is here, where do you want me to put him?" Yes, Vale had LITTLE respect for their relationship.

Joi had been in the kitchen helping her mother prepare dinner, wanting to make sure it was perfect for Jay. She wanted to impress him still. She'd been a nervous wreck all day and even cleaned the whole house. TWICE. Dizzy liked when Jay was coming over she learned.
Lucia ran into the living room when she heard the door, she had been standing behind her dad looking up at Jay when he came into the house. She ducked behind her dad's legs, sensing that he might be a bad man if Daddy didn't like him. Her little thumb found its way into her mouth as she stared at the visitor.

Jay smiled and crouched down when he saw Lucia. "Hello little trouble maker," He smield and wiggled his fingers at her, chuckling a little and trying to be a personable as possilbe. "Still trying to give your sister heart attacks?" He smirked.
Vale just coughed and motined for Jay to join him in the living room, tapping his foot and pretty much trying to keep Jay away from the kids.

Lucia furled her brow at Jay, mimicking attitude her daddy was giving. She stayed behind his legs as best she could, peeking around them as she clung to one with one arm, moving with Vale as he moved.

Jay chuckled a little and shook his head, "Such a little cutie," He smirked and headed into the living room to sit down, letting himself fall onto the couch actually, smiling at the children - Lucia espeically - when they came into view. He was not going to play the bad guy, even if Vale was going to paint him as such, he was here for a nice dinner with Joi, if Vale wanted to be an a*****e about it, let him. Jay was going to try and be on his best behavoir from now until Vale liked him, and from the way things were going, he doubted that would be in this century.
Vale smiled and leaned down, picking up Lucia and beeping her nose. "Don't Worry Lucia-darlin', I won't let him hurt you," He smiled and spun her around in his arms before putting her down. "Now go find your brother and play, I think I saw him behind the couch." He smiled at Lucia and then looked up at Jay, his smile withering in an instant.
"You know a frown does not become you Vale," Jay said with a smile as he leaned back. Relaxing a bit as he listened to the sound of Joi and her mother in the kitchen; that was where his heart was anyway.
"That's Mr. Vale to you, or Sir, whichever you would prefer." Vale said his tone speaking volumes on how less than pleased he was at Jay attitude. He leaned forwards his brow furrowing even more.
"How about Dad? Can I call you Dad?" Jay smiled and sat up straight killing his slouch to show that he and Vale stood at nearly the same height. Jay was not going to be intimidated by Vale anymore, it was time to show this man that he was the right man for his daughter.
Vale's eye twicthed badly and he bit his tongue. There were children present not more than a few feet away, and his first impulse was to chew this man out in probably one of the most vulger ways possilbe. So he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and counted backwards from twenty. When he was finished he opened his eyes again. "No," Vale said flatly, his eyes narrowing again at Jay. "You will call me Mr. Vale, or Sir, and that is how it will be." He nodded his head sternly and leaned back in his chair.
Jay just nodded his head and sighed, leaning back into the couch again, "Yes sir," He huffed and looked up at the cealing. Maybe he should go and pester Joi? That would definatly up his mood, though, he would have to get past the facist father first.
Lucius heard his daddy talking to his sister and another person, and he stuck his head out from around the back of the couch that Jay was sitting on, and waved his had at Lucia, smiling at her and not noticiing Jay was so close.

Lucia stuck her tongue out at Jay and ran behind the couch, tackling her brother and giggling like crazy.
Joi knew Jay was there, she'd heard her dad and him talking, but she didn't go out to great him just yet. She wanted to give him time to talk to her dad first. See if he'd run away again too.
"Joi, can you set the table, I'll watch that sauce." Dizzy took the spoon gently from Joi's hand, a knowing smile on her face. She knew her daughter's mind was preoccupied, so she created the distracted so the sauce wouldn't burn.
"Sure mom." she shook her head lightly and proceded to set up 6 place settings.

Lucius giggled and started to wrestle with Lucia, trying to pry his sister off him as well as try to get away from the back of he couch so he didn't smack his head on it. He'd done it some time before.
Jay sat and watched Vale, his mouth a thin line as he tried to figure out what to say to the man. "So uhm... Nice wheather we're having yeah?" He started, not really coming up with much else.
"Yeah, sure... Nice wheather." Vale said, keeping his eyes locked on Jay, trying to beat him down into submission and get him to leave. If he could prove to Joi that this man couldn't be consistant and trusted, he would win the long fought war.
Jay just sat there and watched Vale, knowing that it was now or never. "So, do you like sports?" He asked Vale, tilting his head.

Lucia squealed and giggled, poking at her brother behind the couch, and very quickly, got off him, shouting, "You're IT!" And she crawled backwards and ran across the living room to the chair her dad was seated in and hid on the side away from Lucius.
Dizzy had finished with the food and came into the living room to announce that dinner would be ready in about 5 minutes. Joi still had to finish setting the table. "Honey, I'm sure Jay doesn't care what side you put the spoon on."
"Mom, I gotta make a good first impression. I've never actually made a meal for him."
Dizzy sighed. She knew this was a big step for Joi and Jomund's relationship. A step she wished they would take. But, after the heart-to-heart she had with her daughter while preparing the meal this evening, she realized she can't stop Joi from growing up and falling in love. She's her own person and maturing all on her own. It was a tough realization actually and Dizzy wondered if she actually had a grip on it yet.

Lucius laughed and got to his feet, chasing after his sister and smiling, darting around the couch and standing in the middle of the room looking for her. "Bahhhh! Where are you Cia?!"
"She's not behind your father's chair," Jay pointed, chuckling a little and winking at Vale, leaning back and shaking his and smiling. "They're cute at that age,"
"You don't live with them... I really hope you don't want any anytime soon," Vale's eyes were still a death glare, even if his face was just a tad bit softer.
"Nahhh, not anytime soon," Jay chuckled, waving his hand and shaking his head again.
Lucius was busy looking EVERYWHERE but behind Vale's chair.

Lucia held her hands over her mouth and giggled, ducking back further behind the chair.
Dizzy called out from the dining room announcing that dinner was ready.
Joi stood nervously behind one of the chairs and waited for her dad and Jay to come in.

Jay smiled and stood, stretching a litte and turning towards the kitchen, heading towards it with a light chuckle. "Alright, lets go eat the good food!" He nodded his head and smiled at Lucius who had finally spotted his sister and was charging him.
Lucius giggled and was barreling in towards Lucia, he started to shout. "See Cia! See Cia! I'm gonna get you!"

Lucia squealed and tried to climb up over the chair into her dad's lap. "No, no get me Luc!" she laughed rather loudly, ignoring her mother's call for food.
Dizzy sat in her normal seat and just waited for everyone to join them. All the food was on the table all ready and waiting. "Joi, sit. You don't have to be so nervous. Its not like you have impress this man. I'm sure you'd need a prybar and pepperspray to chase him away..." she laughed, tho, was serious, but didn't want Joi to know that.
Joi just flashed her mother a 'haha' kind of look and then took a seat in her normal spot as well. She'd added a place setting next to her, on the opposite side from her father.

Vale chuckled and picked up Lucia, holding her under his arm as he stood up. He then knelt down quickly and scooped up Lucius, holding him under his other arms. "Thank you for flying Vale Air, next stop, the kitchen!" He laughed and started to walked towards the kitchen, forgetting for one blissful moment that Jay was in his home.
Lucius giggled loudly and looked forward as his father carried him. "WHEEEE!" He laughed with delight, waving his arms and legs and just having the time of his life.
Jay just smiled and shook his head, heading into the kitchen prior to Vale and the kids. He moved over to sit next to Joi in that extra spot, and after he was situated, leaned over and gave her cheek a soft peck. "It looks lovely, I hope you didn't go to too much trouble for little old me..." He chuckled softly and then pulled his head back, then whispered into her ear so that only she could hear.
"Unless you really, really wanted to. Then I guess I'll just have to make it worth your while," He smirked and pulled his head away, then turned his attention to Dizzy and waved warmly. "Hello, we've met before I think, I'm Jay."

Joi blushed deeply, turning her violet cheeks even more purple. She blinked and leaned away from Jay, not really knowing how to react, thinking his comment was rather cheeky, but was it?
Dizzy just smirked watching her daughter and Jay. "No we didn't, just a normal dinner. Tho, Joi doesn't normally help me, so that was a treat." she gave a wink to Joi, actually try to see if her face could go deeper purple.
Lucia wiggled and tried to pry herself out of her dad's arms. "Down Daddy! I a big girl! I walk on my own!" She whined. She was definately at that stage where she was testing her limits and actually NOT liking being the baby of the family.

Jay smiled and bowed his head. "Well it looks wonderful," He chuckled and turned to look at Joi, his smile growing all the more when he saw her blushing. He didn't want to embarass her, but the blushing was making her really, really cute, so he just sat there for a moment and said. "The light in here does wonders for your complexion Joi, your colors are in true form tonight," He smiled and turned his head towards Dizzy. "Thank you for allowing me to share dinner with you all." He bowed his head again.
Vale chuckled and put both of the kids down, patting them on the rumps, towards the table in the kitchen. "Hurry now then, you know the rule, we don't start eating till everybody is at the table!" he laughed and made his way towards the table, taking his place next to Dizzy across from Jay, then his gaze fell on the brown male, and his eyes darkened just a little.
Lucius giggled and quickly ran to his chair next to his dad and Jay, and clambered up into it, sitting and then standding so he could look over the top of the table with a big smile. "Eat! Eat!"
