Merleawe has left her hometown and moved to Viegald to attend the magical school to become a wizard. She still has little magical power and trying to improve her skills at the school. One day, on the way to her school, she bumps into Vaith who is the follower of the wizard master, Sylthfarn who is currently missing. Vaith thought she was Sylthfarn and brings her to the castle where the followers of the master wizard gather. Glen, Yue, Felun, and Vaith were getting nervous that the country will go to war if the people find out that Sylthfarn is missing. They ask Merleawe to take the role of the master wizard until they find Sylthfarn.

She takes the job. She starts living in a castle and starts practicing lessons to become the temporary substitution of Sylthfarn to disguise herself as him while she still keeps going to her school. She must maintain a low profile as she leads a double life. The King, Princess Selafia, and everyone who know Sylthfarn believe that Merleawe is Sylthfarn. But Merleawe realizes that she does not have the same magical power to protect the people in the country, and she gets devastated by not being able to prevent one person's death
