The Mayan/Aztec calendar points to the year 2012 as the end, but it still doesn't count for the fact that it is written in the bible that no one really knows. Even if it was tommorrow, I think it will be fine. That is God's decision, so that is what I hold too. biggrin

3nodding I agree-- and "the End" is really only the beginning for us, so really, it's nothing to worry about. Actually, I consider it a nice, healthy chunk of what can be termed the "rest of the Good News"-- not only did Christ die for us, but because of that, we have a place to call home for all eternity!! The sooner the better, I say-- which puts me on the other extreme of the spectrum when it comes to God's timing. Far from wanting Him to put it off, I find myself getting impatient from time to time.
Anybody have any comments on when they hope "the End" will come? Sooner? Later? ...Now? cool

Actually, I really hope that "the End" comes as soon as possible. After all, if that happens, then we'll all be up in Heaven with Christ. I feel sorry for those who will be left behind, but maybe they can find Christ before they die then. If they accept Him during that time, they should be able to go to Heaven after they die, right? The funny thing about it is 6/6/06 is my friend's birthday. I doubt the end will happen then, because God says that no man shall know or expect that it will be the day. Since there is all this talk about it that day, people are beginning to wonder about it. So there is a bit of expectation for it then. But still, it makes you think, what if someone we know and love gets left behind? It really makes me wonder who I know that really is saved.

We've had very long discussions about that subject in my Bible study group-- and I've come to the conclusion that society has the whole "rapture" theory backwards. I'm very familiar with the verse that everyone points to regarding the two people standing in the field and one being taken by Christ and the other being "left behind." Think, though, of the parable of the wheat and the tares. At the harvest, the tares are seperated from the wheat and thrown into the fire-- not the other way around. If the seven-year tribulation is to take place literally, I think that the Christians will be there along with everyone else-- right up until the coming of Christ. I don't think that God would take all of the believers from the world and then expect the rest of the population to come to Him on their own. It is our charge to lead them through and persevere, despite the hardships and dangers we are sure to face.

A missionary came to our youth group and while we were talking he said that the end won't come until all the people of the world have heard of His love for us. There are still hundreds of languages that don't have a Bible in their language, so if what he said is true, Christ won't come for a long time. I also never saw anywhere in the Bible where it says what he referenced. If you guys can find it, please pm me, as I only come in here every so often. I dunno. Any thoughts on that, though?

I don't think anybody will be left behind as people think. Not like those "Left Behind" series make it out to be. People all eventually will die and their souls will go somewhere. Remember the whole Y2K thing? Yep. I remember my church that year had a New Year's party and my family and I went and when the count down began everyone was quiet and you could tell people were holding their breaths and I was like "oh brother" and nothing happened. Everyone was running around like crazy buying supplies and I pretty much just laughed because people have been saying nonsense like that for years. Hey now. Hillary Clinton isn't the antiChrist. She's a very nice lady and a Christian herself. rolleyes And of course Iran's president believes in the "end of the world" stuff himself so he's more aligned with the fundies then anybody else. BinLadin is dead so he's not the antiChrist. Plus, the whole world isn't fooled by him. I remember when the last Pope said it was George Bush. LOL. Bush is just stupid and can't fool everybody. Funny how the Bible contradicts what is said. No where does the Bible say that about the "end of the world" that I'm aware of. LittlePinky82, If Hillary Clinton is a true chirstian then why does she stand for things that are not bibicaly correct? If she such a nice lady, then why don't she go after the main problems instead of beating around the bush? She is like most of the of our goverment officals, there for the power.
Bush trys sometimes to do the right thing, but his big problem his lack of acting strong.
As for the anti-christ, the scripture shows that it is Satan, not any human we may think it is. "Anti" in the greek is "instead of" so when you say "anti-christ" you are saying "Instead of Christ" and we all know Satan is the one appear to be Jesus and is not.
The "end days" or the "end of the world" realy is just the end of this second age. The frist tribulation was seven until it was made know in Matthew 24:22 that the tribulation has been shorten. The new time frame has been given in Revelation 9:3 with the word "Locust". This word here is symbolic like the word "scorpions" in that same verse.
I feel sorry for most of the christian here at the end days. Many will be decive as the second and third chapters of Revelation has shown, and when the second tribultion comes, those christian that fallowed Satan thinking he was Jesus copming to rapture them away will fave the wrath of God while then few Christians that stayed working in the field of our Lord and found the temptaion to be sickening that they wanted no part in serving the false one, will not be harm by our Father.
