Siouxsie and the Banshees! There one of the most underated bands to eever emerage out of the scene. They deserve way more credit for the creation of Goth Rock and the development of Alternative Rock and Siouxsie Sioux for being one of the best females in rock

I'm not sure where you've been, but in the world of "goth" Siouxsie gains MUCH credit for her contribution to the musical genre and the scene.

She may be outshined sometimes by Bauhaus and others but Siouxsie is the one that all goth girls want to be and all the goth boys (bois?) want to ********.

coriander18 She may be outshined sometimes by Bauhaus and others but Siouxsie is the one that all goth girls want to be and all the goth boys (bois?) want to ******** class="clear"> Thats what I ment. A majority of the times, a lot of people seem to put Bauhaus and Joy Divison as being more influential which I don't find fair. That and the fact that the Banshees are always compared to The Cure which although I love the Cure (as do I love Bauhaus and Joy Divison) The Cure are more New Wave sounding.

I don't even see why it matters. If you like them then huzzah for you in liking them and supporting them. If others like Bauhaus or Joy Division more, then that's their deal. Musical preference isn't about fairness.

Musical preference isn't about fairness. It matters a lot, since everyone goes around saying how Joy Division is more important than them. (Ian Curits didn't last long people, he took the rope...!) Bauhaus just ripped off David Bowie. (I love them anyways though) Siouxsie broke from her punk roots into goth-rock and is still around today.

The music was still produced. Still being produced. they aren't going to disappear from the face of the earth if people like Joy Division and Bauhaus more. You people look too much into the superficial issues. Just enjoy the beats. Let it fill you.

And "you people" refers to all the younglings who like to make a big deal out of music to the point where arguments about what genres bands fit into become some odd source of power, but in reality just demonstrates the immaturity of the bunch. And therefore, missing the entire point of music.

Younglings? I am not fighting about what genre Siouxsie falls in, nor anything about genre; just the importance of Siouxsie and The Banshees. The entire point of music is amusing oneself/others and expressing yourself. I may be young, but I know more about goth than some elders.

Which returns the point I was making before but you so aptly missed, the fact that other people don't think Siouxsie is important (not saying I don't think she is) doesn't change the fact that Siouxsie and the Banshees exists and contributed to the goth scene. If people don't like her and don't think she's important, that's their business. ::shrug::
