Notes Well, this is my first FMA fanfic. It's only a short one-off.
It's been posted on ff.net, but I'd like to put it here too, becasue it has some... 'subtle' Roy x Ed hints. So, here you have it... "Bloody Fangirls"


The bathroom mirror showed nothing but a distorted swirl of colour as the boy moved around in front of it. Edward Elric ruffled his dripping hair with a towel, trying to dry it off as much as possible. The result was rather disappointing � a heap of knots and lanky rat�s tails. Sighing, he pulled a hair elastic from one of the vanity draws and, pulling the towel around his body, headed for the room he was staying in.
His feet left damp indents in the carpet, a sopping trail that lead to his room. Dragging one hand through his hair, Ed turned the door handle, swung open the door� and squealed.
Inside his room, rummaging through his chest of draws was a girl. Caught off-guard and almost naked, Edward pulled his towel tighter around his body, trying to cover his whole self at once with the fabric.
�Who the hell are you?!� He recovered enough to yell rather angrily at the unwelcome visitor. The girl stopped her rummaging, and turned her head slightly. She looked at the boy in the doorway, taking in his beet-red face, sopping hair and hands � one metal, one slightly scarred but otherwise normal � that tried desperately to hold a towel up around his body.
�Oh... Ed! Hello!� The girl seemed surprised to see the boy standing in the doorway of his own room. She started to crawl along the floor, behind the bed. Ed watched, still too stunned to move. The voice came again, from below the bed.
�I wanted to ask you�� a hand appeared, gripping a royal blue jacket with intricate designs and holding it suspended in the air. A head appeared beside it.
�Who�s is this? I mean, it can�t possibly be yours. It�s far too big.�
�WHAT? Who are you saying�s so short they could use Roy�s jacket as a dressing gown!� Ed exploded, waving his arms around and momentarily forgetting about the towel, which he grabbed and pulled back up just in time. A triumphant grin crossed the girl�s face. She waved the jacket around, mocking Edward, who finally left his post at the doorway to grab for the jacket. The gril�s grin widened as she tugged it out of his reach.
�Aha! I knew it! Tell me, Ed, what could you be doing with Colonel Mustang�s jacket beside your bed? Hmmm?�
�Shut UP! Give that here and get OUT!� Ed launched himself across the bed, groping for the jacket and falling over the other side. He and the (still unidentified) girl crashed to the floor, tangled in the sheets that Ed had pulled down after him. He continued to clamber over the mess of sheets and limbs, reaching for the jacket that the girl always seemed to keepjust out of his reach. She cringed as she copped an automail knee in the stomach, but still refused to give up the tailored blue material. It was only when the sound of heavy footsteps outside drifted in and somehow found their way among the scrabble on the floor that the girl hesitated for a moment, the material still gripped in her fist. Edward, sprawled across both the floor and the girl at once, finally got a hold of the jacket and ripped it out of her grip.
The girl looked up at him, disappointed. Ed glared at the girl, pulling on the blue jacket. She had been right about one thing � the jacket was far too big. It came all the way down to the boy�s thighs, but it saved him from having to worry about keeping a towel up around himself.
�You know, you really look good in bl-� the girl stopped halfway through the word to duck a blow aimed at her head.
�Get the hell OUT!� the girl, wide eyes but not looking all together fussed, clambered out of the sheets and to her feet. Ed followed close behind as she raced out the door.
In the hallway, Alphonse stood and watched, shocked, as a girl rushed out from his brother�s room. Her hair was ruffled, and she held her stomach like it hurt. Her face was scratched in a few placed, and a bruse was beginning to appear on one arm. She grinned up at him as she rushed past.
Alphonse stepped back as an enraged Edward stumbled out of his room after the girl, dressed only in a blue military jacket. His hair was in a worse state than the girl�s, and he had a sheet and a towel caught around his automail leg. He watched as the girl hurried out of the brother�s quarters and into the passageway beyond. Edward ran over and slammed the door, locking it. As his brother watched, still at a loss after what he had just seen, Ed slid down the door and fell heavily onto the floor. He looked up at Al, running a hand through his hair and groaning as it got tangled in all the knots.
�Bloody fangirls.�
