Mo'onasi, the adolescent Goddess of Love, slowly made her way through the Mistweaver lands. She had met an adorable little cub, named Kimaji, and was in a felightful mood. Were all in these lands so sweet? It made her very curious, in her innocent way, and drove her to explore the lands, if only for a little while longer. She had a tug on her heart to get moving, for reasons unknown to her, but shrugged them off as she normally did. Nothing could go wrong, right?

Kiuma laughed as she dodged a tree, leaping over a low rock. Her soft, dark-tufted tail trailed behind her as she raced over the ground, all muscle and deadly grace. This time, that grace wasn't for the hunt, but in play, bright crimson eyes sparkling in her red face. Somewhere close by must surely be Tanaka, the source of her mirth and the cause of this playful mood. So rare in her childhood, she freely induldged in it now.

The great lion smirked, green eye sparkling as he watched Kiuma. He never tired of watching the red lioness, the only one who brought out the kinder side of him, in his eyes she could do no wrong. They were a dark pair, a perfect match.
Tanaka charged after her, large paws pushing off a rock for extra momentum. He might have pounced his companion were it not for a sudden sense that caused him to stop dead in his tracks. Fur bristling, ears back, tail twitching, his eye narrowed in a glare. Something was nearby, something he did not like, something he'd only ever sensed...from a diety.

Mo'onasi noticed as the birds in the trees suddenly grew quiet. That was never a good sign, ever. Her ears flicked forwards, backwards...trying to pick up any sort of sound that might let her know at least where the chance of danger could come from. She picked up a laughter, one that didn't sound threatening. Why did the birds go silent, then? Concerned, she stopped suddenly, hoping that her eyes could pick movement up. What was out there...? Best to keep quiet for now, perhaps it would pass.

Kiuma ran on for a few paces before silence came where paw-falls should be. She slowed to a stop with a little bounce, turning to look back at the companion that had only moments before been bright and cheerful at her side. "Tanaka? What is it?" She called back, turning to pad to his side on soft paws. She didn't see or hear anything different than it had been a few moments ago...

(( sorry if it's god-moddish, I thought gods would be able to sense other dieties nearby. )) Tanaka stood silent and still for a moment, save for the lashing of his tail, eyes focused in the distance, a faint growl escaping his lips. Hearing Kiuma's voice he turned to her and briefly nuzzled against her chin, perhaps a reassurance that it wasn't she who had caused his sudden change in mood.
"There is someone else nearby...a god."
His head lifted, nose twitching as he sniffed at the air, ears flicking at every sound. His first desire was to charge forward straight into an attack and tear the being to shreds, but even for him that would be foolish. No, better to be more cautious this time, besides he could be mistaken and that energy was best preserved for the true fight. Crouching into a stalk he slunk onward, toward the unseen goddess.

Mo'onasi, still mildly unaware of the danger that approached her, slowly made her way to where she thought was away from the danger. It wasn't in the opposite direction, but she wasn't marching right up to where the danger was, either. Her nose suddenly twitched as she noticed something odd in the air. She couldn't quite pin down what it was....seeing as how she hadn't come across a god since she was very small, quite a time ago. But the feeling she had made her uncomfortable, and she did her best to move silently, and swiftly. Being smaller had it's advantages, but she wasn't moving as fast as she most likely should of been.
(I don't mind. XD )

Kiuma returned the light touch, her attitude suddenly deadly serious to reflect his. A god was nearby? Was it one of those that had hurt him like this? Anger flared up, hot and intense, and she bared her fangs in a silent snarl. All at once she was once more the deadly efficient hunter, and this new god was her prey. She fell into a predator's crouch and began to head of at an angle to Tanaka's course. They'd pin whatever god had made an appearance between them, and tear into him with tooth and claw. She slipped into the undergrowth like a blood-red shadow, her bright eyes shining fiercely.

The lion nearly vanished in his hunter's stalk, white coat blending surprising well with his surroundings. The only sound he made was a low growl as he quickled his pace, stalking silently toward the target. The closer the distance between them, the faster he moved, and the more malicious his posture became.
Despite the fact that the goddess was on the move, it wasn't long before he spotted her, green eye narrowing in a glare. She had wings, unmistakeably a deity. She was definitely a good deal smaller than him, most likely younger.
Paws flexing, talons scarring the earth with each step, the lion let out a low growl as he charged forward. If one were looking for him, the movement of the grass would have alerted them to his presence, though if they weren't, they might never see him.

Momo gave out a strange yelp of a sound as she felt the oddness in the air seem to get heavier. Something was definately wrong, and it was going to catch up with her no matter what the goddess did. She turned just in time to see a wave in the grass reel towards her. In a quick swiftness of movements, something that would only come to the goddess in life and death situations, she thruts herself off the ground towards a treee, pushed off the said tree and gangily clung onto another. The forest of the Mistweavers was too think for her to fly in, and made things much more difficult for her. She unceremoniously pulled herself up onto the branch, her weight making the branch bend, just able to hold her weight. This was certainly not what she wanted to deal with! She was not one for confrontation, and this was frightening beyond belief! She peered downwards towards the ground, trying to figure out what was after her. It was a little hard to see, even though she wasn't as high up as she could be.

Kiuma slunk through the underbrush right till the moment she head running and the rustle of grass. Suddenly frightened for her companion, after all, who knew how strong a god could be, when Tanaka was only mortal, she lunged forward into the open. A flash of movement caught her attention, but the confusing thing about it was that it had gone up into the tree...
Kiuma stood staring around her in confusion, her tail lashing in excitement. Where was Tanaka and their quary?

Tanaka snarled, a rumbling growl echoing through him as his prey escaped his paws just as he was about to pounce. Damn it! Blasted gods and their wings! If he still had his he'd have flown after her.
Talons extended, eyes scanned until he located the creature on the tree branch, tail lashing angrilly behind him.
"Climbing trees won't save you."
He stalked toward the trees, paws moving in silent steps. Though he might have been difficult to spot, his growls had most likely already betrayed his location.

Mo'onasi still couldn't see her attacker. But why was she being attacked? She had done nothing wrong! Perhaps she had errored when she was nothing but a new goddess, but she had done her 'time' for that, and did her best to be good to everyone, so why was this happening? Momo decided to at least try and find out, it was the least she deserved.
"Why, why are you attacking me?" There was a hint of desperation in her voice.

Kiuma shrank back as the... goddess called from up in the tree. Perhaps she hadn't been spotted yet. This was truly between Tanaka and his former 'kin'. She was here more as an observer, and support.

Tanaka snorted, lifting his head enough to glare at the goddess above the grass, though his true size and full form were well hidden. His tail lashed like a snake about to strike, ears back in anger. He didn't recognize this one, but she was a goddess nonetheless, and that was enough.
"That's simple...revenge."
He turned his head just enough to see Kiuma and shot a reassuring glace at her. If the goddess did decide to fight, she'd have to go through him first. But right now she seemed more concerned with hiding in that tree, so much the better for him.
