[WC: 1042]
Cardinal had decided it was time to visit her homeworld again, it had been a while since she was there and had more questions than answers. Especially with having met Bacchus and housed Vizi.
It sounded like the homeworlds and wonders all had met their demise with chaos. It had made her curious as to what ended her homeworld. She'd had the vision talking about a plague of chaos but that didn't explain what happened.
She arrived on her homeworld and moved to the center where it seemed ceremonies were held and sat down on a log. She was looking at the world, it was in disrepair and while there was some things left, there wasn't much.
"What Chaos plagued this world?" She asked softly as she moved from her seat to look around the area of the smaller buildings. A lot of them were built into the side of the mountain.
Maybe there would be clues as to what had happened in the houses that were nestled in the mountain side. There were logs for fences which made her curious, it looked as if there were parts that had been gardens for food and flowers.
She was looking at some of the frames built, "These look like drying racks for pelts." She was curious as she wondered into one of the houses that had an entrance at ground level.
Once inside she closed her eyes and listened, would it tell it's story? When she opened her eyes again she saw a vision standing in front of her.
"Do you think the great Uktena will guard us Grandpa?"
"It's hard to say child. As the senshi of the Uktena you must be ready for anything."
The younger senshi nodded, "Yes Grandpa." There was a twirl before she chuckled, "I'm going up to visit the cave then!"
"Be careful you know the Uktena sleeps and shouldn't be waken."
"Of course Grandpa I'll be careful!"
The vision faded and Cardinal stood looking curiously at the spot in which the vision had been. "Odd... it's gone back in time."
She wondered what the visions meant, and why they seemed to be out of order. Perhaps her homeworld fed off her emotions or was teasing her? She walked the house to see what the life was like here, though it was largely a one room house it seemed as if it was sectioned off the way the layout was. She'd noticed curtains though she wasn't sure what they were made of hung on a wire system and she started pulling them to.
When she was done she realized there were rooms sectioned off and a central point for a heat source in the middle of the floor. A fire pit, with something that resembled a smoke stack went out the top of the roof. Made from some sort of clay - at least what she guessed was clay.
"I guess this is where they cooked and kept warm at." The pit was surrounded by blocks and seemed to keep a gap in order not to burn the cedar plank flooring.
She found a small plush dragon in one of the baskets. There was a smile as she could picture a younger senshi playing with the toy. "Some day we'll meet the great Uktena." She said softly wondering if it still lived in the mountain.
Though she paused, "Of course not, there's no life here." She said softly as she placed the stuffed toy on the cot and drew the curtains back so they were open.
After she was satisfied of her exploring of the house having located a cellar that seemed to store things like vegetables considering the loose soil and what she knew of persevering food in root cellars.
She walked outside and looked around. The senshi in the vision she'd noticed was heading up the hill. Perhaps that was where the great Uktena could be found, if it had lived.
She sighed and decided to follow the vision anyways. She'd placed her boots on before she started her hike dismissing her heels into her subspace and made her way up the mountainous trail. Watching as the houses became more sparsely placed until eventually it was nothing but forest.
Cardinal wondered what sorts of creatures use to live here. The world as quite and still as it was, gave her the creeps. It took some time for her to arrive at the cave that seemed to be indicated.
There were totems outside, it seemed to depict animals until the top most totem that was carved. She recognized it as the way the people here carved the Uktena. She watched as the young senshi in her vision appeared and walked to the entrance of the cave.
"Oh great Uktena." She said folding her hands and bowing her head. "Please lend me your wisdom and help guide me through my trials. I cannot help my people if I do not become the strongest hunter."
Cardinal tilted her head curiously. The young senshi was talking about hunting? But why?
"Grandpa said it's getting close to hunting season and as tradition goes I am suppose to track and capture our first harvest but in years past I have not been successful." There was a pause as she took in a deep breath before continuing, "I want to make them proud. I cannot disappoint them again this year."
Cardinal seemed curious, perhaps she had misjudged what a senshi was or perhaps each world was different?
She had no idea but now she was curious about what others had done on their own homeworld. "I wonder if she ever managed to harvest her hunt successfully."
"Grandpa says I shouldn't bother you too much but I could really use your blessing and your help." She paused, "It's all I ask for."
As the vision faded it seemed to leave cardinal with more questions than answers. However, she figured it was time to leave here. She wanted to explore the cave but felt as if it wasn't the time or place to investigate that further. "I don't know if you're still here...." She said softly pausing in the same spot she'd stood in her past life.
"But I'm back. . . . I will protect you now, where I might have failed in the past. I won't do so again." She said looking sternly into the darkness and gave a firm nod.
She had seen a homeworld with life, she was sure she could bring such back here. But she didn't know how long it would take to restore. "I wont give up until this world is back thriving and even after I'll fight for the people."
She moved to head back down the mountain to sit where ceremonies were held.
As she sat and watched the still world and listened to the silence she wondered what could she do different? Was there something better that could be done in this life time she hadn't done in the past?
She looked towards the hut where her past life had spoken to her grandpa. "When the wonder's restored. . . what should I do to show you? What could I do to prove, I won't fail this time?" She asked softly it was as if she expected her own grandfather to come from the cabin and answer her.
