It was late. A silver-furred kitten slipped out of the hidden alcove that was the entrance to Mauvian HQ with her head still spinning. After claiming her own little room the kitten had attempted to at least read up on what it meant to be a Mauvian. In her little pocket of subspace she held the blueprints that would enable her to construct a gadget that could allow her an hour of time in order to walk around like a regular human each day. That was definitely going to come in handy. For the moment though, until that device was crafted, she was stuck in a body that felt much too small to contain the energy that wanted to burst free.
Taking the necessary time to check that everything was clear Quicksilver stopped when the clouds parted allowing moonlight to illuminate the ground and the strange, sparkly object that was just begging to be liberated. Darting over the Mauvian batted at the object before realizing just what it was. An ornate-looking die. How cute. And now it was all hers.
What Quicksilver did not expect was the sudden burst of wind that slammed into her side nor the sudden blackness that overwhelmed her.
When consciousness returned to the young feline she had the strongest urge to simply close her eyes and go back to sleep because surely, she had to be dreaming. What else could explain the strange place that she now found herself to be in? Padding over to the wall that seemed to keep her separated from the golden path beyond Quicksilver checked her surroundings before she spotted the mysterious die from earlier. What would happen if she were to roll the die?
"Guess I need to do this," she queried into the silent surrounding before she batted the die with her front paw. The impact caused the object to clatter around before stopping and the wall that separated her from the start of the game path disappeared.Quote: Space 0 You have arrived here; nothing happens until you roll your die.

She had not seen what number had come up on top with her first roll but the impact of walking into the barrier that had sprung up on the end of the first square had the Mauvian rolling her eyes. Of all the luck, she had to roll an one with her first attempt. All in all though nothing really strange seemed to be happening just yet. Almost as soon as that thought went through her mind did the fur on the back of her neck raise up. Her head turned quickly to peer into the inky blackness that drifted about the sides of the path before she shook herself firmly.
"Nothing there. Nothing at all."
And yet the persistent feeling of being watched continued. Quicksilver located the die just as a faint chuckle sounded from a location to the back and right of her small body and she darted forward, batting the die forward once more in a hasty effort to put as much distance between herself and whatever was in this space with her.Quote: Space 1 You feel eyes upon you, and hear a faint chuckling, like you’re the butt of someone’s joke. It sets a bad mood for the rest of this game; you’re already being judged–and, it looks like a long road ahead.

Quicksilver's roll allowed her to get out of the current square with a grateful sigh. The idea that someone could have been watching her and jeering at her was bad enough. Now it seemed as if she was stuck in this place until she finished making her way across the tiles. Feeling the now familiar passage suddenly stop her from progressing forward Quicksilver grimaced before her ears flicked back and forth. A squeaking sound emanated from somewhere above her head and although she could not see anything the young Mauvian could definitely hear whatever it was that was staying out of visible sight. Sitting down to quickly scratch at an itchy spot on her right shoulder the young cat spotted her die and quickly picked it up in her mouth before spitting it back out.
Feeling and spotting the wall in front of her drop down Quicksilver darted forward to escape whatever it was that haunted her previous square. Quote: Space 7 Something is twitching and flapping above you, and while you might be minding your own business, something is a little too invested in what you’re doing. You can’t see them, but you suddenly hear shrill, high pierced noises that are disorienting and confusing. They can bring about dizziness and pain and can cause vertigo if you’re stuck in them for too long.
