Sailor Pandabear had seen plenty of strange things in Destiny City — you didn’t survive long as a Corrupted Senshi without tripping over a curse or two. But the little wooden die glittering in the gutter? That was new.
She crouched down, brushing a gloved finger across its surface. The faint shimmer of opal caught the dim light, and she tilted her head, lips curving into an intrigued smile.
“Now, what are you supposed to be, huh?” she murmured, voice light, teasing. “You look expensive. Guess I’ll take you home before someone else does.”
The second she picked it up, a cold wind slammed into her — hard enough to whip her hair across her face and steal the air from her lungs. Darkness swallowed the street, the city, everything.
When the world righted itself again, she was no longer standing on asphalt but on some strange, glowing path stretching out into nothingness. Black all around. Silence pressing in. The die gleamed in her palm like it was alive.
Her amber eyes widened, then narrowed. “Okay… creepy pocket dimension? Check. Magic dice? Check. Me stuck here? Ugh, double check.”
Still, there wasn’t an ounce of fear in her tone — only irritation and curiosity. She straightened up, tossing her curls over her shoulder and grinning despite herself. “Fine. Let’s play your little game. But just so you know, I always win.”
She tossed the die into the air, watching it spin with a careless flick of her wrist. The golden numbers flashed in the light as it hit the board and began to roll.

The growl came first—low, guttural, and close enough to make the tiny hairs on Sailor Pandabear’s arms rise. Then came the bark—sharp, vicious, echoing through the darkness like a gunshot.
She froze for half a heartbeat, then scowled. “Oh, so we’re doing dogs now? Real original.” Her voice was steady, but her fingers curled into fists. She couldn’t see it, but she could feel it—hot breath, a snarl right behind her ear.
“Yeah, yeah, you sound real tough,” she said, taking a defiant step forward. “Too bad you’re all bark and no bite. Come on then—try me.”
The unseen creature didn’t move closer, but its growl lingered, vibrating through the air until it faded into silence. Sanaa let out a breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding and forced a cocky grin back onto her face. “Didn’t think so.” She straightened her posture, pretending her heart wasn’t racing. “Next square, let’s go.”

The sound hit first—a wild, chaotic flutter that made her glance up just in time for a black cloud of wings to dive toward her. “Oh, come on!” Sailor Pandabear yelped, throwing her arms over her head as the bats swarmed.
They scratched at her sleeves and tangled in her hair, their shrill cries filling the air. She spun, swatting at them with a snarl. “You overgrown pigeons better back off before I turn you into accessories!”
A few veered away at her voice, but most kept circling, a living storm of wings and fury. She glared up at them, breath quick, irritation simmering hotter than fear. “Fine. You wanna play rough? Let’s play.” She snatched up the die again, giving it a sharp shake. “Let’s see what this roll gets me.”

The dice hadn’t even settled before the first howl tore through the dark. It was deep—powerful enough to make the ground tremble beneath her boots. Sailor Pandabear stiffened, eyes darting toward the sound just as another answered from the opposite side.
“Oh, great,” she muttered. “Because one wasn’t enough.”
The air vibrated with snarls and heavy footsteps. She caught sight of yellow eyes glinting in the dark—then another pair, and another. Her pulse quickened, but she smirked anyway, lifting her chin. “So that’s how it’s gonna be? All of you against me? Fine by me.”
A low growl rumbled closer, and the tremor beneath her feet grew stronger. She raised her hands, power sparking faintly around her fingers. “You wanna run me down?” she said, voice steady and sharp. “Then you better move fast—because I’m not going down easy.”
She tightened her stance, ready for whatever lunged first.

no growls, just a strange, glowing light spilling across the board. Sailor Pandabear blinked, squinting against the sudden brightness.
“Wait… that’s it?” she asked, half-suspicious, half-relieved. The air shimmered around her, and the world began to dissolve into a soft opalescent glow. It was warm, almost gentle, wrapping around her like sunlight through glass.
A smirk tugged at her lips. “Tch. Guess even creepy magic games know when to quit while they’re ahead.” She glanced down to see the little die resting near her boot—harmless now, dull but still oddly pretty.
“Fine. I’ll keep you,” she said, scooping it up and slipping it into a pocket. “You’d make a nice trophy.”
And with that, the light swallowed her whole—leaving nothing behind but the faint sound of her laughter fading back into Destiny City.
