Slowly navigating the very normal neighborhood, Jason eventually stopped in front of a very normal house. Hopefully Talia would be as calm and put together as he'd seen her on the battlefield and they could just, get this over with. He didn't think she wanted to be hanging with him anymore than he wanted to be hanging around her. Even though he'd come here to have her heal Luke, his twin wasn't the only body between them. But Luke didn't know about that at least. Hopefully she wasn't going to mention anything awkward in front of him. "Maybe she'll still give you a rabies shot, anyway," he said calmly smiling and wholly vindictive.

Luke was tired. Exhausted, really. There was a small part of him that wondered if maybe he should have gone to the hospital, they could have given him more blood if he had needed it…he doubted that Lysithea’s magic could do that, but the idea of rabies shots…
And then Jason had to go and be the worst. Slowly he turned his head and rolled his eyes. “No. She won’t have any rabies shots. If she does, we're leaving and I’ll just. Deal with it until it heals. Drink more juice or something.”
He felt some relief at seeing the house and tried, and then failed to stifle a yawn but that was fine. He would be fine soon enough. This was great. Wonderful. Amazing.
His mind drifted to Reims and he hoped that there was someone around to heal him as well. If only he would have stayed they could have come to get help together but…that was fine. It was fine. Everything was fine.
“Can you get the door for me, maybe? My arm has entered the really, really hurts, stage of all of this and I don’t want to move it, if I can help it…”

Bemused, he explained, "Juice really doesn't work that way. Not even Capri-Suns." Turning of the car, he got out and went around to help baby brother out of his seat. Luke had to really be in pain for this one. It wasn't the first time he'd asked for help, but it was one of the times he'd asked for help when it came to something involving their Knight life. Something about being powered made his brother feel like he had something to prove, and part of that was not needing help. At least not Jason's. Holding the door open, he let Luke step out with a hand to stabilize him. Then closed the door behind him. "Are you feeling like... poisoned or anything?" He kept an eye on the front door, like Talia might jump out of it waving a knife, or worse, feelings at them.

“Well, it’s not magical. But it has sugar in it which helps to keep you going. Isn’t that why they give it to you when you donate blood? To like…keep your system running on something artificial? And it helps with hydration. I don’t know. It made sense.” He stood straight when he exited the suv and shook his head.
“I don’t think they were poisoned. I had worried about that…especially the quills? But they all vanished when the youma was dusted so we can’t even like…test them…I had ripped a bunch out and they were barbed but…I shoved them in the thing’s eye and it helped the situation. It was necessary…didn’t realize they were barbed until that moment but…what can you do.”
Luke began to make his way over and sighed. “Jason…I don’t know if I can knock. I feel like such a dud right now. Why couldn’t it have just gotten me all on one side?”

Juice wasn't magical to the point that it also wasn't even very effective in the mundane, Earth-style healing way, either. Jason let the amusement wash over him, a soft, bright counter to everything else going on. Like barbed quills being jerked out of his brother. Making a face, he offered, "That was smart thinking." But that was about all the praise he had in him for the situation. Jiminy Cricket, what would have happened if Reims hadn't also been there? Giving his brother a pensive look, Jason tamped down the well of useless panic. The internal insistence that he shouldn't let his brother go around as Lisse without him. Ever.Reaching the doorstep, Jason rung the bell.

It had been smart thinking. Jason was right, and the words were like a balm to Luke, not that he would admit it...and if Reims had just hacked at the things neck...it might have gone better. Absolutely would have gone better, he was sure but...he wasn't going to say so out loud. Right now, he just wanted Talia to come and heal him and then to sleep.
Maybe for a few days.
Oh, and have something to eat...like cookies.

Now, Talia had been expecting the knock, of course she had. She had been sitting on the couch, legs tucked up under her petting Soleiyu for comfort, but still the sound made her jump and she all but leapt off of the couch and made her way to the door, drawing in a deep, steadying breath before opening it.
“Luke, Jason. Come in, come in. I’m glad you got here all right.”
She noticed the vehicle in the drive and nodded to herself. Okay, so they hadn’t come powered. Which was good. She hadn’t thought they had, but it was reassuring to know, and to know that they hadn’t walked here either. If Luke was that badly hurt, that would have been foolish.
Ushering the two inside she quickly closed and locked the door behind them, just in case.
“Okay. I’m, I was…I am going to take us up to Lysithea. Soleiyu will make it so nobody can sense my aura but I figured it’s safer to do this where nobody can interfere and we can make sure Luke’s as good as he can be…”
She was babbling. She knew she was babbling and she couldn’t seem to meet Jason’s eye, looking literally everywhere else but finally she powered up after exchanging a glance with the Mauvian and holding out a hand for the boys, she withdrew her phone. “Come, we’ll get this all taken care of.”
Not wanting to linger, she took the two boys up to Lysithea and breathed a sigh of relief when they were there. Not that she didn’t trust Soleiyu, for she did, with her life and everyone else’s but…it was still better to be safe on her own world.
“Tell me what happened?”

"Thanks for letting us come over, ma'am." She seemed a little flustered, but honestly that made Jason feel a bit better. If he was going to feel awkward, at least he wasn't the only one. it took a moment to realize that the Soleiyu she was talking about was her cat. Which meant the cat was a Mauvian. He gave them a wave and a small, grateful nod. The princess turned into a whirlwind of magic and action, and they were on Lysithea with its crisp clean air and lavender grasses within moments. It was comfortingly familiar, if not as familiar his own forest way off somewhere on it. He should look for a world map at some point, shouldn't he? At the question, he glanced over at Luke and sighed. "Youma attack."

Luke nodded. “It was a…really bad one. Super fast and with really sharp teeth. Zero out of ten don’t recommend. We dusted it though…but it got a good chunk of my arm? And I don’t want to get a rabies shot so…when Jason mentioned you I thought it was the best solution all around…I don’t think there was any poison involved but it had quills too and got me in the shoulder and then I yanked them out and they were barbed so…that didn’t help my…you know. Skin.”
He was tired, and upon getting to Lysithea he sank to the ground, lightly moving his less injured arm so that he had the grass tickling the palm of his hand.
Lysithea was such a beautiful place…

Nodding, Lysithea knelt next to Luke and looked over the injuries that she could, humming softly. “Well I’m glad that you were able to defeat it. Are you hurt too, Jason?” She summoned her basic magic, pressing it to his shoulder first. Hopefully that would be enough to take care of the wounds, even the ones that were exacerbated by him pulling out the quills.
“I should have enough magic to help you too, if you need it, please don’t hold back if you are.”
She watched, satisfied as the wounds closed and scabbed over. Not totally healed but…much better than they had been. The small punctures were hardly even visible now.
Drawing in a breath, she summoned her super magic for the arm, gently pressing the tip of the ethereal horn to the wound, watching as it, too, began to heal.
“Do you need anything else? I have some snacks and supplies here if you’re peckish.”
This was so much easier. Tending to Luke's wounds....avoiding Jason's gaze not out of discomfort, but purpose. So much easier.

"No, I wasn't," Jason swallowed, but the sudden lump of guilt didn't go anywhere. "I wasn't there." He'd failed again, hadn't he? It was one thing to say he wanted to give his brother space, to breathe and grow and learn at his own space rather than his own. It was another thing when staring at Luke's bloody wounds that wouldn't be there if he'd had somebody shielding him. Wounds that would have be so much worse if Reims hadn't shown up, filling in the gap that Halle had created by not being where he should have been. Biting the inside of his cheek for a moment, he glanced over at Lysithea and then back to Luke, the injuries advancing like she'd hit some kind of fast forward on them. It was actually extremely cool. He was getting ready to tell her they'd be fine, when the blood on Luke's clothing choked the words right out of him. "Uh...could we use your washer and dryer?" Wait that could take like, awhile. "Actually, we can just go to a laundromat, we don't want to keep you up, ma'am. Thanks for healing him." It was said in a rush, like he'd just realized he'd left the oven on.

Luke watched, fascinated, but eventually looked away, the sight kind of turning his stomach though he wasn’t going to say anything. It was much easier to play with the grass now that his shoulder wasn’t on fire any longer…this magical healing stuff was honestly nice.
When Jason suggested going to a laundromat he looked at his brother sharply. “...Seriously? I just want to go to sleep, Jase…I’m really tired.” He supposed that was due to blood loss but. Whatever. Coming down from adrenaline could do it too, he supposed.

Lysithea shook her head. “Of course you can use the washer and dryer, and please, stay the night with us if you want. We can check the car in the morning and make sure there’s no bloodstains in there. Do you think your mom would be okay with it? Because I am. It’s a cramped house but it’s comfortable.”
And then she could keep an eye on them both for at least a little while…and maybe. Have a hard conversation with Jason on top of everything else. She didn’t want it, obviously but…
Hard things weren’t about wanting them. They were simply about doing them. “I can make us a good breakfast in the morning? Something fancy?”

Jason wanted to glare at Luke, but the expression ended up the sort of gross, helpless sympathy that it nearly always did when his brother was sick or injured and wanted something. One day. One day he would have some sort of immunity against this. He offered Lysithea a crooked smile, looking straight at her for the first time that night. "Okay, yeah. I'll give her a call, she'll probably think we went out to a senior party or something," he sighed. It wasn't that she'd be mad, it's that she'd tease them like they were up to normal teenage antics. Underage drinking, hopefully no drugs harder than weed, getting involved in low stakes relationship dramas. It was hard, sometimes, not to just tell her. But doing so would just make her assumptions go even wilder in the end. "Thanks."

Luke nodded, stifling a yawn. “Yeah, thanks! That sounds really good to me.” Now that he wasn’t in pain, he just felt tired, and it wasn’t a bad feeling by any means, he just…wanted to sleep…and the grass was so soft. Maybe he could nap here for a bit…but then again. A bed or a couch sounded even better than the ground, if he were being honest with himself.
