Susanoo was absolutely not letting Sailor Gagarin live down having a meeting down later. Still, Saiulor Dubhe was home tonight, a civilian night in with their baby cousin venting aboiut Emitt leaving her behind again, so Susanoo was patrolling alone tonight. He'd almost pestered Sailor Oumuamua to join him, but she was dealing with finding out her sister was a senshi, evidently, and frankly, Sailor Susanoo didn't want to deal with Oumuamua sputtering somewhere between Japanese and English in his ear. Phone was bad enough.
But a night without responsibility was an opportunity to think. Zayne was off doing his own thing, being irritably insufferable to -- Susanoo had no idea so watching his brother wasn't an issue. And it also make Susanoo... Think. A lot. Wood clacked on concrete sidewalk as he considered his affairs and events since awakening so far. Sure, he didn't do much powered, but... He realized Diubhe didn't need him. She fouight her way to Super. And he had Gagarin to work with. Oumuamua offered good information, but... Susanoo paused. Actually, he had to keep Gagatrin from fighting youma too. ... Oh no. Was he getting to be the mature twin?! Well that was a frightening thoughtm considering his sphere was Tengus and his fuku matched way too well for his little weeaboo heart to ignore. Although, at least his hakama was tidy, and slowly, Susanoo gracefully slid off of the sidewalk and onto grass as he entered the park, stretching a bit as he walked. It was such a quiet night he considered reminding himself to be young and mess with his grandsire Hadrian's house when a feeling washing over him - another aura, and he looked about amicably, humming. Well. It seemed he wasn't alone tonight after all, and he spoke calmly in a smooth voice.
"Mmmm. Come on out. I won't bite." Niot... Usually? Not unless he was in a fight with Zayne anyhow.

Cardinal had perched herself in a tree and she felt the energy signature enter the park. The senshi sighed and glanced back up to the stars for a moment before she heard the owner of the energy signature call that they wouldn't bite.
"Are we sure about that?" She asked as she jumped out of the tree straightening her skirt and her antlers. She flashed a bright smile before giving a chuckle, "I guess at least you're not a youma."
She leaned against the tree she'd jumped out of. "So out on a stroll this lovely evening I take it?"
"Well there's always exceptiuons." Susanoo lauighed, a rather bemused laugh. He grinned as Cardinal emerged - somewhere between friendly and feral but it wasn't unkind. "I do suppose it all depends uponwhat's happening."
"And it is a pleasant night for a stroll." Susanoo added after a moment. He turned as Cardinal emerged, originally, but now he took a calm step closer, the tall senshi nodding politely as he motioned politely to himself. "Sailor Susanoo. Nice to meet you."
He was patient. Sensing no threat, he was caalm, the kind of calm bred of being used to sitting silently for hours - as Susanoo was used to. He did huint after all.
"It's pretty quiet, so far as I've sewen. And you? there's been no trouble I hope?"

Cardinal nodded when the other said there were always exceptions. "That's fair, it does depend on what's happening."
"Ah Sailor Cardinal, nice to meet you; Susanoo."
There was a nod, "Ironically not as much as a peep, I was watching to see if the owl that lives around here would come back. A youma tried to make it a snack a few nights ago. So I figured I'd hang in the tree and see if it'd come back."
She said softly, "It's the only trouble I've seen tonight."
Susanoo listened, smiling faintly as he nodded, listening to Cardinal with surprising attention. He was admitting it awkwardly to himself but - he liked meeting new order. It was nice, and it was nice not having Zayne around constantly. Or Dubhe. Honestly it was nice to have family.... But nicer to meet people without worry.
"Ah, owls." Susanoo drawled smoothly. Calmly. "Quite elegqant creatures. It may not return, or it may. It might takle a few nights yet. Owls are p[redators, predators are tenacious and lack a prey drive aside some few rare cases llke rodents. It will likely return. Eventually. Better than crows; crows are too clever."
Susanoo had seen crows think. But he also learned to respect them when hunting, lest some drop stones on him. No - the man learned to let crows be.
" Far more pleasant a night then. I never do enjoy a bit of combsat. Too..." He motioned. "Tiring. I can handle it. But I do not enjoy seeing others or even monsters bearing down. You?" He asked, slightly worried now.
"Forgive my concern of course. I simply... Well..." He fidgeting. Still unused to opening up so. "I've seen chaos agents acting of late. You are... Safe? At night?"

Sorry for the delay~
Cardinal smiled and nodded, with a shrug, "Yeah they do enjoy looking for mice and other small mammals. It's quite fun to watch them when they swoop down to pick up a meal."
There was a chuckle, "I love crows, they are very clever. There's a box that's been made into a dispenser in the park just on the outskirts of the city. It's near a ranger cabin. The crows can deposit trash and they get a tasty treat. They enjoy it as an enrichment activity and they get some of their favorite treats such as different sorts of nuts and seeds."
There was a nod, "I don't mind sparring just to keep my skills sharp, I actually enjoy a good spar. While tiring it keeps me on my toes in case I do happen to run into a monster or a chaos agent who actually is looking for a fight."
Cardinal smiled, "Well I do appreciate the concern, my cousin worries about me as well. She's been a senshi a lot longer than I have."
There was a pause, "Typically yes I do feel safe at night, though there's usually also safety in numbers."
Susanoo listened, but he didn't look bored. He relaxed, slowly. Visibly fascinated as he listened, speaking.
"I know the crows revel in deer season." Susanoo admitted finally. "Fresh carrion. I personally - I prefer to breing the venison home." He was a hunter, but not iorresponsible. And he smiled again, surprisingly a little uncertain. Shy. He wasn't used toi making friends easily. Cardinal seemed... Well, she seemed like someone he could befriend and enjoy the company of. "I would love to watch owls or birds of prey huint some time. I enjoy watching other hunting creatures."
Rhe admissiuon was the shyness of one unaccustomed to socializing easily, but trying.
He listened, letting Cardinal speak fully. Although his arms crossed there was no shift, simply an act done for comfort. He looked completely at ease now, smiling with understanding.
"I used to wrestle with my brother really." Susanoo admitted. No longer was his speech trying to seem anything diufficult or strained from uncertainty. ... He was showing vulnerability and there was a sense he did not do so for strangers easily.
"I've been sparring with some recent friends." Susanoo admitted. "I have more experience because I know fighting is necissary in this conflict."
Susanoo was quiet again, composing his words carefully, choosing not for deception but to be truthful.
"My cousin ia a senshi. She's been in this longer too, a little. She's still growing." He seemed to be quiet. Then concerned. "She's why learning to fight matters to me for other senshi. She was sweet. She was gentle, kind. Peaceful. But. Then a youma killed her father and I watched my cousin have to pick up the pieces when she did not dust it in time to sdave his life. I don't want others to see loved ones go through that because they respond to a threat too slowly."
Susanoo was unsure it was his place to mention what happened. Huis cousin only told him because he asked what happened alone. Because his father was breaking losing his best friend, and Zayne wasn't as boithered. He'd asked becauyse he saw her small tells. The anxiety in his cousin's voice that everyone else was too shocked to miss.
She had told him alone. He was all she could tell.
Susanoo was quiet a moment, and then looked at Cardinal with a feirce protective look.
"I'd be willing to spar if you want. And - offer you someone to talk to if something happens to family or friends. You and your cousin need not face the war alone, if you need someone to turn to. And I can put you both in contact with my copusin as well. She's a healer." He didn't know what else to say, but... Finally voising his conviction. His wish, his side of what happened settled somethiung to him. He wanted to help others.

Cardinal chuckled lightly when he said the crows revel in deer season, "Well if there's parts you don't use you could always leave a little something for the crow or give them some seed they should leave you alone."
There was a nod, "Bird watching in general is interesting and shows you a lot of different habits that they have. Even watching bats at night is impressive."
There was a nod when Susanoo said he use to wrestle with his brother and gave another when he said he knew fighting is necessary in this weird magical war. "Sparring helps a lot to be honest, I'm more of a distract magic. My cousin -- is I think she heals some but well it's just defensive magic you might not believe me if you didn't see it for yourself."
There was a chuckle, "Yeah mine started out as a chibi. So when I found out I was consistently worried about her. But she's been at this much longer than I have so I've learned to trust her."
There was a frown when he mentioned that a youma killed his cousin' father, "Yeah it's rough to lose loved ones in the war. If she wants more people to help her or to lean on I'd love to and I'm sure my cousin would be more than happy to help her out sometime."
There was a grin when Susanoo offered to spar, "Yes, lets spar! I need to get some energy out anyways. And it would be fun to meet up with your cousin later as well, because it sounds like all three of us are defensive."
"Mmmmm. I may. A pity I can't leave parts for them. I have the meat professionally processed. I... Well. I like to make my hunting useful instead of waste. I should do more, I feel, but unfortunately I'm uinsure what." Susanoo was proud he didn't just kill wantonly. And venison was delicious. So was duck, really. And boar. He shook his head to prevent a moment of distraction.
"Bird watching may be a good way to find ideas as well. Locate locations." He actually almost weanted to offer to bring Cardinal some venison or boar some time, but held off. It seemed a touch too overly friendly."I think Gagarin, my friend - he seems to have.,... irritating magic." Susanoo noted. "But there's nothing wrong with possessing defensive magic. Defensive magic is useful. It can help someone make it home. My father saw copmbat when he was younger... Sometimes the smallest act made the difference between surviving deployment... And... Not."
He was quiet. The war, and this, gave him a lot to chew on mentally. Quite a lot to consider and focus on.
"Some time we should bring our cousins to meet up." Susanoo finally agreed. "Dubhe never had siblings. But she was like a sister when we were all kids. These days she overworks and... POutters about. She's been at this longer. Won't discuss some stuff she's seen. She's been mentioning... Trying to bugger off. Deal with her homeworld--" And as if he were finally realizing what Cardinal was sying, his mind caught the word 'chibi' and could even translate it and bring it into context. "Small children can awaken? I'm sorry, I - There's been children awakened?! I thought Gagarin was young awakening at twenty two or three months ago!"
Clearly, Susanoo did not like the idea of kids patrolling alone, unprotected. He muttered some profanity under his breath, exporession mortified at the idea of children in the war and he was informing Dubhe, and Oumuamua, AND Gagarin. Kids needed to be kept safe. A few more swears, and he sighed. "Children. Bloody hells, I.. I apologize. The idea of kids risking their lives is just... Horrifying."
Then Susanoo shifted, arms lowering as he nodded. He cvoached himself not to move into a combative position too quickly - he wanted to help, not hinder, and he shifted his weight to improve balance, his feet moving.
"Alright. Show me what you can do. And don't worry, I'm not offended by veuising. It means you have bite."

Cardinal seemed to think, "With your meat professionally processed what happens to the bones and the hide?" She was curious as to what they would do with those parts, "I would admit I'd like to have a skull or two from a deer. I do try to pick up some here and there as long as I can within the guidelines of the wardens."
She thought about what he could leave for the crows, "Maybe bring the crows some nuts or berries then? They'll appreciate that as much."
She listened and nodded as he spoke, "Hm irritating magic sounds interesting." She chuckled when he mentioned that there wasn't anything wrong with defensive magic, "Wait till you see Hugbell's magic. It's very interesting how she's figured out how to work it so it assists her as much as it defends her."
There was a pause, "Oh tell your father thank you." She said.
There was a nod, "Yeah I need to go back to my homeworld and explore more, it's in complete ruins it seems but there's some interesting things going on there so I need to investigate more."
There was a pause when it seemed to hit him that chibi meant children. There was a half shrug, "Yeah she was nine... there's been some other kids that I've seen. I think over all order is more supportive of them now than when my Cousin was coming up, from the way she occasionally speaks. So I'm glad there's been a shift to protect them more."
There was another pause, "I think -- and this is just me assuming, cats probably only awaken them if they are in danger which means it's a difference between them coming out alive or not."
She sighed, "It can be horrifying, I plan to look out for any if I do run into any... my cousin has a baby sister - I hope she stays blissfully unaware of what goes on here."
She watched as he got into a combative position and chuckled and nodded as she got into a fighting stance as well, after a moment's thought she called out her magic, "Uktena's shine."
Once she let the attack move ahead of her she decided to try and knock him off balance with a leg sweep.
tabUktena's Shine
When Cardinal calls this attack an illusion of the Uktena appears behind where Cardinal is standing. The gem on her tiara then gives off a dazzling light that temporarily leaves her opponents seeing spots if they look directly at her.
This attack lasts for 30 seconds and can be used 3 times. This attack effects those opponents that are 10 foot (cone radius) in front of Cardinal. Usually, the spots seen from the light after the attacks ends are also gone, but could last longer and be distracting if a player so wishes.
"Mmmmm. Well, if you want a skull in the best condition would be archery season. I enjoy archery season anyjhow. I have my license for the year as well. I can take time to discuss with my butcher about preserving the bones and skull if you want them. I know some hunters keep parts taxidermied for trophies as well. As if the trophy of a dominantly herbivorous creature were a prize." Susanoo rolled his eyes. "I'd be happy to acquire a skull for you. Sounds.. Educational. As for hides..."
And now he looked a little shy.
"I have a lot of leather from it. I'm considering having someone make a few coats or something for family or friends. I simply need to find if anyone wants them." To Susanoo, he was simply huinting prey and that meant he needed tyo be as efficient using it as possible. Sometimes he just needed to work out... Hows. He figured he could ask Gagarin for help making coats later, the man might know where Zeke might get a hand in sewing with leather.
"Life and death... That's a good reason." Susanoo admitted. "As is protecting them when we can. T4eaching them so they can escaope, There's no way they'll always be safe with an adult to power up. They need us to be examples. To help." It felt odd to say. For a moment his mind went to childhood, to his father... Trying. And surprisingly... He felt fine with it. Not angry. Realization his gfather tried.A siogh.
"I've never been to my homeworld." Susanoo admitted. "My cousin told me once hers was... Unpleasant and grim. Personally sounded fascinating, but she was unsettled. I'm surprised she visits." He supposed Homeworlds must be important. Supposed. Buty he felt unsure. Insecure in his assessment. There was no yrlling wgat was on his homeworld.
And they were fighting. Susanoo was pleasantrly and regrettably caught off-guard immediately by the magic , buyt moved, wincing as he shielded his eyes. He took a moment both to recover but as he saw spots he took a defensive posture. So fgar as he knew, hioss magic ewas support. It only worked to defend others from opponents.
Didn't stop him from considering it though, as Susanoo fluinched, remaining defensive.
"A good time to attack." Susanoo offered helpfully. "Or retreat. When the enemy is blind and disytracted. Unfortunately my magic is meant to protect allies." Or perhaps fortunate? It left him a bit disadvantaged, but he could protect others.
He could keep them safe.

Cardinal looked interested, "I would love to have a skull and some of the bones." She tapped her chin when he said educational, "Actually it would be an interesting educational set up for kids. I might could do that for my job."
There was a soft head tilt when he mentioned he had a lot of leather. "Ahhh, back home there were a few leather workers, I hope you find someone. As large as the city is there's surely someone who could actually sew coats from them."
There was a nod, "I've been to mine once so far. I could see where one's homeworld could be unpleasant and grim. I guess it depends on the sphere - but I feel like one could probably turn it around if they found it as such and make it feel less so if they wanted."
There was a soft chuckle when he mentioned that it was a good time to attack or retreat. She settled on actually trying to sweep his legs out from under him. "Perhaps, if we were faced with an opposing enemy we'd make a good team, protect, blind and jet." She said after.
"...I have enough leather if you wanted some. I assume educational if you have a desk mind." Susanoo shrugged, but he was smiling. "I try not to waste."
And he certainly caught enough deer it was no issue."That..." SAusanoo admitted, as his feet were swept from under him. He was used to hunting, the woods - and activity, falling back and twisting to land on his feet but barely, spinning on Cardinal apidly as he brpouight a hand up and initiated an attempt at a palmstrike. "We could even help civilians with teamwork. kujeky, There's certainly plenty of people we could team up to protect, not merely ourselves." He considered.
"What does your cousin's magic do?" Susanoo asked, mind in thougg5r aas trhey sparred.

Cardinal chuckled, "Well it's not quite a desk, but I think I can make a frame for it out of timbers to display the leather."
Cardinal saw the palm strike and attempted to block it at least keeping it from hitting anything vital. She wasn't looking for a broken nose tonight. She moved from a block into a swing of her own hoping to punch him.
"We could, perhaps there's something on the homeworlds that if we're there enough we could hunt too. Might be able to feed the homeless with it." She suggested as she watched for his next move keeping her arms up in as if she was in a boxing match.
"She grows a teddy bear to a large size. She's senshi of comfort." Cardinal explained, "I mean the bear's suppose to catch people but she's used it for a few various things over the years."
"Oh, that would look nice." Susanoo brightened at the idea, even surprising himself. "I never considered framing it."
Susamoo shifted posture, entirely relaxed by now.
"It's possible but we want to ensure anything we find is edible, first. Although... I mean I can take you hunting, if you get the licenses and the like to go." Susanoo offered. He was firm about ethical hunting, his father empohasized the importance of an ethical hunt. And Susanoo knew huntiung ewnded if not done poroperly and sustainably. "It's not always easy," Susanoo warned. "But it is relaxing. A lot of time alone, waiting in the woods, with your own thoughts. Almost therapeutic."
Sure, some people fished for that but he didn't.
Susanoo hummed in ap[proval at her block. He was prepared to avoid vital points and anything that might do grievous harm, but he ability to block. To fight. To defend was most worthy of approval. It meant impressive reflexes and he knew those made the difference in a fight. And he wanted to help others in Order make it home, so Susanoo shifted his weight and adjusted his posture slightly, and moved to try catching her fist for a block. Susanoo winced as fist met palm, and he used his own strength to slow her inertia before dropping to kick for her legs, careful to not knock her down into anything that might do serious damage.,
"A teddy bear? And Comfort?" Susanoo whistled. "That's versatile though. And useful. She absolutely sounds experienced to know how to work with her powers. Mine... Well I mean. The tengu it calls protects others. Never tried it on mysaelf. Not sure it will work."
