This was Bast's apartment when she worked at the Club before going to Sebastet's island. She worked as a Blade Dancer in the Club and may work as one again now that she's back.

Located on the seventh floor of the Club, at number 31, it's a corner apartment and one of the few with plenty of windows. But all the windows on the building are unique. No one can see into the building from outside, not even with thermal imaging. But the occupants get to see outside and still enjoy the warmth of the sunlight when it presents itself.

There's a kitchen, laundry room, living room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The entire apartment was painted and decorated to look like it's in a forest. Complete with rustic hand-carved furniture and colors to reflect the forest atmosphere.

The master bedroom easily showed her subtle and cautious personality with a slight flare of humor. But this room also showed a lack of the laughter and teasing she'd developed on the island. This room showed the girl that had just left her family behind.

One bedroom was done up for her friend Vivian, a rare female among the Sniffers.

The third bedroom is a weapons room and exercise room.

In the living room is one painting. It's a younger Bast with her family, her parents and younger brother standing with her. In it, it's very obvious that she looks very different. They were Iberian Lynx, complete with rosettes in shades of grey or shades of brown. Bast was blacker than night.

That was all she'd been able to take with her, carefully rolled up in her pack when she'd been smuggled to Wolfgang's ship the day before their village was attacked.

Cassarria had helped with the decoration and introducing her to Vivian. It was in an effort to keep Bast alive after she'd arrived here.

Now, she was here for a different task. Now she'd brought a Mate with her. What touches Desmond would place on the rooms was anyone's guess. She wouldn't care as long as he was beside her.

The ship finally docked underneath the Club and the crew started unloading the cargo while Wolfgang led Bast and Desmond from the ship. But he had already made a point to change his clothes before leaving the ship. If he didn't, Cassarria would have attacked him. When he changed, she was a bit more subtle about it.

He directed the couple towards the elevator pushed the button for the private quarters of the staff.

They said nothing in the elevator. Certainly nothing about the ship they'd sunk on the way here. One less batch of Hunters...

The doors opened and Wolfgang exited into the arms of his beloved. Cassarria didn't hesitate to give up her mouth to her mate and husband, giving a very pleased moan as he kissed her very thoroughly.

When she was let up for air, it took her a moment to get her breath back and look at the guests he'd brought. She considered Bast for a moment then knew she was going to have to remove the memory-block from the young Hylarr.

She looked at their Marks and didn't hesitate to smile, "Congratulations on finding your Mate, Bast. I'm happy for you," she told her simply.

Bast couldn't resist a shy yet happy smile, "Thank you, Aunt Cassarria. This is Desmond," she introduced him easily while letting him know who the vivacious redhead was.

Cassarria looked up at Varos for a brief moment then looked at Desmond with a more serious expression, "I need you to do us all a very big favor and hold her. I have to remove a memory block from her and it can be a bit overwhelming. But she will not survive here if I don't do it. Once she processes the memories, she will be fine," she told him simply then simply acted.

She raised one hand towards Bast and her sapphire eyes glowed briefly. A flash of light moved through Bast then she simply passed out and collapsed into Desmond's hold.

She shook her head, "I'll explain after you get her into a bed," she said then led the way to an apartment, "This is hers. Put her in the master bedroom. I'll make some coffee," she told him as she moved into the kitchen.

The master bedroom easily showed Desmond her subtle and cautious personality with a slight flare of humor. But this room also showed him a lack of the laughter and teasing he'd come to know. This room showed him the girl that had just left her family.

He tucked her into the bed and petted her for a moment then went for that explanation.

Cassarria served everyone coffee in the living room, sitting herself next to Varos as the older male wrapped his hand around her thigh possessively, "Bast spent five years here before we could get her to Sebastet. RRT was patrolling the harbors too heavily for him to leave. So she started to develop a life here. She even became one of our Blade Dancers. Very successfully, I might add. She's quite deadly," she started the explanation easily then looked up at Varos briefly before continuing with a heavy sigh, "Unfortunately, someone took an interest in her. There were other things happening and I freely admit that I got distracted. I think that's the only reason it went as far as it did... He wasn't a good match. Now please understand, I don't judge anyone. Everyone has a right to their path and kinks and I don't interfere with them. In fact, I make a great deal of money from some of those kinks. But I didn't see this one coming until it was almost too late. The only thing I could do in the end was block her memory and send her to Sebastet. Then I cleaned up the mess left behind. Unfortunately for you, you may wind up dealing with him... Upstairs, in the Club, you have to abide by the rules. So does he. But if he comes for her here, you are free to do as much damage as you want to. I will simply clean up the mess after," she explained everything as calmly as possible, only Varos keeping her from doing anything regrettable with how angry she was over everything.

After another moment of silence she continued, "She has a friend here, Vivian. She's one of the Sniffers," she waved off any explanation since he'd be able to pull the information from Bast as she regained her memory, "One of the rooms here is set up for Vivian. It allows her a place where she can escape for a bit. She will be cautious with you. When you first meet her, explain what you are to Bast. That will help. Past that, give her the space to get used to you," she needed to add that but in because sometimes Vivian still came to sleep in her room here.

"I've made sure that the kitchen is stocked with shifters in mind, so there will be plenty for you to eat. Your luggage will be delivered in a short while. I will tell you that you can trust all of the staff that work in this building. If you have an issue with any of them simply let me or Varos know about it. I should also let you know that he has about six different names he uses, so don't be surprised by it. The manager of the Club is named Garos and he's a trustworthy demon, highly efficient. Wayne is in charge of the Sniffers," she gave him a few more bits that he would need then moved on.

"I have something else that I need you to prepare her for. One of my siblings saved most of her Clan from England. Unfortunately, her parents didn't make it. Her brother did. He's alive. Unfortunately, the way the clan was saved meant that many of the children were aged to varying degrees. Torr is now a fully adult male Hylarr. He's been processing everything since they arrived and has finally gotten his feet under him. He's also been going through a fast tracked training program, so he's just as lethal as his sister," she explained, hoping that he'd understand what she would need to be told.

"You're welcome to find something to do in the Club if you wish to. Just ask Garos about it. Bast will know where to find him. Also, be aware that some that work here have a different name while working, much like Varos does. Bast is known simply as Kitten among the visitors. Staff will know her real name," she added then looked up at Varos as if asking if there was anything else that needed to be discussed.

In the bedroom, Bast slept. But she twitched and moved here and there as her mind supplied fragments of memories, almost like a computer defragmenting a hard drive. Slowly, her memory was restored, one piece at a time. In frames and moments that slowly became days, weeks, months, then years.

Back then, she'd only been at the Club for five years. Then she'd been gone for five years. Back then, she'd made friends, taken a job she'd liked, even got into a relationship. The first two had been a wonderful dream... Until the latter had turned it into a nightmare...

And right now her memory was supplying plenty of the nightmare....

It increased her breathing and made her shift a bit more.

Through the bond, Desmond was getting more and more from her. But he would be able to put the fragmented memories together easier. He knew how she thought. He knew her heart. So organizing her memories would be easier for him right now.

Desmond listened to everything Cassarria told him, giving himself a moment to process everything that was important and critical, having been a dog of war for so long being precise in his information gathering was essential especially when it came to possible threats he would likely encounter. Varos took note of his expression and just grinned “don’t overwork yourself, the one upstairs will have his due soon enough, I doubt he’ll leave you be once word gets around those circles that our dear kitten has returned, even the accessway used by my ship is seldom ever not monitored by someone within certain circles, though my dear would know my feelings on the matter of having those watching us, it is sadly bad for business and in some cases can prove useful.” Desmond looked at Varos and Cassarria and replied, “what are my options for weapons?” Varos shook his head “while the use of weapons would be problematic, I wouldn’t advice it, your wolf should be more than enough to handle anything that comes your way up there and push comes, security will handle anything that requires a more direct response, your job is to keep low, don’t forget RRT is just across the street” Desmond nodded.

When Varos and Cassarria left Desmond returned to the Bedroom and checked on Bast. Sitting down next to her sleeping form and rested a hand on her cheek and held it there for a moment before he stood back up and went into the living room as their bags came in and simply took the weapons pack and opened it revealing quite a few choice weapons that Bast and himself preferred, he grabbed his bow and checked it briefly before he grabbed the quiver and checked it making sure the heads were ready and primed before he pulled out a few sets of throwing knives Bast insisted he carry with him for this trip along with the knives he preferred to carry, these cross sheathed on the ball of his back, The throwing knives not being as obvious as to where he hid them on his person but easy enough to draw in a pinch. After he was done he sat down on the couch to take in the information he was given fully, as well as what was next for them.

Bast eventually woke up with a growling groan, sitting up with a hand on her head. She stayed like that for a moment then eased herself to her feet and started moving towards the kitchen. Her pounding head told her that something for the headache could be found here. She found it in the drawer next to the sink and popped two pills, downing them with some water without thinking about it.

Why were the headache pills in the kitchen? Because she and Vivian had agreed on that central location for easier access when dealing with a hangover.

Needless to say, Bast now avoided tequila like the plague...

She left the kitchen and headed for the couch in the living room, dropping onto the couch and putting her head in Desmond's lap, "After that stuff works on my head, we can go get something to eat. We can call the restaurant downstairs for delivery if you want that instead. I'll have to adjust the food delivery for the apartment when I can think again. I'll also have to get in contact with Garos and a few others. That too can wait until I think. I appreciate the return of my memory but I could do without the pounding head," she said each word very carefully.

She gestured in the general direction of the phone, "Each phone in the building works off some kind of weird magic Cassarria tricked out. Phones outside of the building are on the city system. These are more reliable. Numbers are next to the phone. Should be current menus for the restaurant and the food delivery system over there too," she added.

She was going to have to wait for about thirty minutes for the medication to work. But for now she was giving him a few options.

Before they could do much, a call came in on the phone and Bast groaned as she got to her feet to answer it. She listened for a moment then said a simple, "Yeah. Be there in a few," before hanging up and turning to him, "Come on. Let's get ready for a meeting. Aunt Cassarria has apparently made arrangements for some help getting the last of your packmates free. The ones in the warehouse," she told him simply.

Then she went to the bedroom and changed into the traditional Hylarr fighting leathers that had been in her luggage. She gave a soft giggle at his growl of appreciation as he watched her arm up. She shivered at his promise to properly disarm her when they came back.

She watched him change and get armed with his blades as well, silently admitting that it was something she found supremely hot.

She finally pulled her mind out of the proverbial gutter and got them heading to the internal elevator that would take them to the back hallway of the first floor instead of making them walk through the restaurant.

Desmond, knowing what his mate needed in this moment simply left the elevator and back into their apartment. He led Bast to their room and simply closed the door behind them before he brought her over to the bed and cared for his mate. Desmond didn’t say anything, there wasn’t a need, he simply held her close to him allowing her to take comfort in his presence, and if she needed to cry because of finding out her family however few remained could.

When the time came that she needed a distraction of the pain and joy of the discovery of her brother being alive, he didn’t waste any time being intimate giving her the kiss he knew she needed before their passion went beyond. When hours came and went, they were a panting mess entwined in each other’s arms and legs, their clothes having been scattered about the room at some point, but in the heat of passion neither could remember when the clothes came off, only that now they had spent their time together in a heated passion, and now Desmond simply ran his hand along her spine allowing his touch keep her in the here and now. Desmond’s bond with Bast was strong and he could feel the love she had for him as much as she could feel the love from him, how much he would do anything for her.

Bast was panting hard as she laid on the bed where he'd let her drop, her body feeling tingly all over. With each movement of his fingers over her spine she shivered, her body still on overload. She didn't even care about the sweat soaking her fur. Although, if she didn't get cleaned up and dried off, they were going to have to replace the mattress. And when one considered that she didn't have a spare bedroom, that could be problematic.

She worked to calm her breathing then turned to look at him, "Shower..." she had to gasp and shiver as his fingers trailed down her spine again before she could try again, "Need a shower... Or we'll have to replace the mattress," she finally said, her mind letting him know about the full-body dryer in the bathroom that took care of her fur after a shower.

They didn't have them on the island because electricity wasn't as needed, plus the shortage of furred individuals there.

She shivered at his grin before he scooped her up then carried her into the bathroom and started up the shower, getting the temperature right before stepping in with her. She enjoyed the showers she took with him, knowing that he enjoyed helping her clean up as much as she enjoyed teasing him. Plus, she liked it when he brushed her fur out. That made her purr every time. He knew just how much pressure to use to make it feel so good...

And this time, she didn't have any problems with drying off!

They changed the sweaty sheets together then she got into the bed and curled up next to him, letting his petting soothe her to sleep. Thankfully, she didn't have any dreams of note. She simply fell into a peaceful sleep.

She did still need to order food for the apartment, and needed to show him around the apartment. The bedroom next to this one had been converted into a weapons room, the one closest to the living room was Vivian's with the bathroom across the small hallway. While she wanted to explain everything to him, she didn't need to. Their bond showed him everything he needed to know.

So he'd know about the layout of the apartment, as well as the ordering system and how to call others in the building. And since he'd thoroughly worn her out, he was most likely going to wake up before her.

Desmond and Bast slept peacefully, Desmond was relaxed more so since his mate was sound asleep and relaxed. That was until someone knocked on the apartment door which woke him instantly, groaning as he pried himself from bed and Bast, being careful not to wake her as he put on a pair of shorts on before he went to the door and simply opened it, a message being handed to him before the staffer walked off. Desmond looked at the note and just sighed, Varos wanted them in his office when they had a moment, which turned his mind on immediately, he looked at the time and noted that they had been asleep a while, even so, Desmond didn’t want to wake Bast yet even though this was likely serious if Varos was wanting them and simply went into the kitchen making coffee before he went into the bedroom, two steaming cups of coffee in hand as sat down on the bed and put them on the night stand before he leaned in and gave her a loving kiss to wake her up, when she finally stirred he spoke softly “Hey Gorgeous, Varos wants to see us in his office, something’s up” he offered her a cup and sat there a moment to give her a chance to process what he said and let the coffee do its job.

Bast started purring as he kissed her awake, but gave an unhappy groan at the news, "He's lucky he's my uncle... Otherwise he'd be getting a set of claws in an uncomfortable place..." she said in a grumpy tone as she finally sat up.

But he'd be able to tell that she was grateful for the coffee. And that she was mostly serious about clawing up Wolfgang for waking her up. She was well known in the Club for sleeping in. And clawing up people who woke her up.

Desmond was lucky that she loved him.

She finished the coffee fast then gave him a kiss of her own before she moved to get dressed. And armed. Varos should be feeling very lucky that she wasn't carrying anything longer than a dagger. Then again, she was lethal with her daggers, so it was a toss up if he was still safe...

And she was even better with a bow...
