So we're old now. We got jobs, families, responsibilities.

Ripped from the bosom of our upbringing into this planet we occupy... what are you up to these days? How's life?

I encourage folks to only share as much as they're comfortable, and please be mindful of that.

I wore a lot of hats since my time as an 04/05 (I forget the launch year) Gaian, which I joined through a friend who turned me on to the site in high school.

These days I work a lot with youtube in the background with content creators (not with Google/YouTube) with scripts, voice work (my voice is a**), ideas, etc as a passion project.

I also stream. And I won't be sharing any of those links, lol

I find this website fascinating in how it's retained an older audience who seems to largely coalesce with each other in a variety of ways. I know a lot of current GDers and many former ones, and they know me. Maybe not now, but it's cool to see people floating around or at times, running into them in the wild!

HBU?

Hello~!

I'm originally an '05 recruit to Gaia, after my sister got me started here when she got us IP banned from Neopets. sweatdrop

I remember Gaia was such a major part of my early teenage years, as it was where I really got a space to discuss my opinions and get into really worthwhile debates that helped shape my worldview going forward. At the same time, I remember the scene kid era from that time, and how badly I wanted to be like the "cool kids" and get popular as a "prommie" in the GD. It never happened (probably for the best), but it was definitely a dream of little teenager me to be cool enough to be recognized.

Nowadays, I'm an operations specialist for a solar observatory on Maui. I went from being a weeby gal from Tennessee to getting a physics degree and going into telescope operations. I also went from being a kid who was afraid of even potentially getting hurt to now doing performance/circus arts as a hobby. I specialize in poledancing and aerial hoop/lyra, and have the bruises and calluses to prove it. lol

Anyway, it's neat to see how things have changed so much for the people who have been around for so long. We all started as teenagers in the early days of the internet taking off, and it fundamentally shaped us. Now, we're still returning to these old haunts and practically forgotten relics of the old days of the internet. I'm glad to see Gaia is still around. I do think it's funny that they still hold to their PG13 rules given the actual age of most users, but it's nice to see that we all still love the nostalgia of this website that helped raise us.

it is interesting, right?

i remember being the tender age of 14 amongst us talking a bunch of mess for the time and while my old account(s) are deleted, i made a lot of friends here

when i closed my (at that time, a newer) account after all the trials and tribulations of childhood pained me a bit leaving it behind.

almost died several times, been with (now married) the same person for 15ish years, ended up doing my passion for zero money but did it.

and y'know for as s**t as the world may be, i really try to focus on community.

There's a non-zero chance we already knew each other, but it's really cool to come back fresh with older GDers cause even if we knew each other then, we certainly don't now!

Welcome in! Feel free to suggest if you know anyone who may be interested.
