The Fairies (8 ) : The City has been lit up for the Star Festival with banners and twinkling decorations strewn off the windowsills of shop fronts and windows. The gardeners at one particular park have put their heart and soul into creating a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, little beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter. The park is open to everyone and the citizens of Destiny City have been invited to respectfully explore the hidden wonders that have been placed throughout. The park is magical enough on its own but there have also been reports of a strange, ethereal and shimmering stranger in the park. The glimmer of a beautiful costumed figure fluttering through the park has been passed around as rumor, and no matter what anyone claims to see, no one can take a picture of it. As if simply seeing some magical figure isn't mysterious enough, there are also reports of mischief and small pranks being played at the same time this figure seems to appear.

The star festival had been a part of this city for as long as he could remember, though that didn’t count for much, Kioshi was certain he’d enjoyed the festival as a child. He didn’t remember it, he didn’t remember anything of his childhood, but there was just that feeling of enjoyment that the star festival brought to him. Even with all the magical mayhem, which he now understood, he didn’t mind the festival and found some enjoyment in it. It was magical, and not just in the cosmic magic way, and that was seen perfectly in the city park.

That was why he’d decided to wander the park, a hand tucked into a pocket, as he wandered. There were couples situated here and there as it wasn’t too late, not late enough for everyone to be home tucked in bed, but it was late enough for all the lights hanging from various trees to be shining brightly. The place had a certain enchantment too it…a charm. It was nice and it even gave him some ideas that he would use for work, maybe some flash designs he could offer up on social media. He could run a small sale on some water color designs, use the star festival as a way to get a bit more business.

Business was, in part, what brought him to the park. It wasn’t just to see all the people, and not be gathering energy from them, but he was hoping to catch a glimpse of the fairy people said was wandering the park. Some remarkable and enchanting presence that had been seen, but not heard from nor pictured. He was hoping to spot them so he could draw inspiration from them, from the beauty people claimed to see, he was certain he could draw some stunning designs from them and maybe use them for work…or keep them for himself. He wasn’t entirely sure, though he was leaning towards work, but he’d figure that out if he saw the figure and was honestly as inspired by them as he was hoping to be.

While the whispers were just that - whispers, and rumors, he was certain it was true because anything magical in this city was true. Now he just needed to find this figure…and he was sure they wouldn’t be found in a populated area - too many people and too much attention. That in mind he did finally drift off the path, away from the lights and the people, and wandered through the bushes and trees, till he got to some open areas of grass and flora where there was no path and no lights…and no people, the last bit being the most important.

It was nearly an hour later, he’d taken to checking his watch, when he finally heard something that was like a whisper in his ear followed by giggling. The whispers, and giggling, continued as he walked heading towards the giggling till he passed into another open space where a fountain sat bubbling with cool water. Fluttering about the fountain, the giggle sounding so sweet to his ears, he watched as they moved around. Ignoring the tugging at his clothing, and his ear, he shuddered when he felt something brushing against his ears. Oh! That did tickle a bit actually.

Oh yes, he could work with what he was seeing. He’d need to get home, quickly, so he could get to putting this to paper since he knew taking a picture wouldn’t work. Biting his lip, reluctant to leave, he took a few steps back and with a blink of his eyes the fairy was gone…as if knowing he was in a rush but also didn’t want to leave, and had decided to help him by leaving instead.

Turning quickly he headed off, making his way home as quickly as he could, he’d tell Omen about it while he worked on his ideas. He might tell Lorcan as well….though he knew the others opinion on witchcraft and such. Maybe fairies were ok since that was a part of Irish culture, as far as he knew.
