Poultrygeist (15) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke.
Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth so characters can still use an NPC youma battle as well as this one for growth purposes. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

Not for the first time, more like the sixth time, the dark haired male looked over to the floating orb of light that was following him lighting his way gently. It was nice to have a bit of light, even if it might give his location away and draw attention to himself, not something most people would want, but he was ok if order found him and came for him…he was more than ok with that. So far though he’d been unlucky tonight…not a single signature belonging to the other side. He had sensed a few chaos signatures, though they had been right at the edges of what he could sense, but that was fine. He wasn’t really looking to socialize tonight, not unless a fight counted.
Shaking his head his blue eyes glanced about as he took a moment to decide if he could continue on, turn the corner, or cross the street and head that way. He’d come to a corner and had options and thus a decision to make, and nothing was helping making the choice for him. It was just as he was stepping off the sidewalk, to continue straight ahead, that he sensed something and that was when he changed direction and turned to the right and crossed the street.
Someone was close by…a chaos signature. But who owned it he didn’t know but they were close, closer than anyone else had been tonight.
This would be the first night in a long time that she hasn't gone patrolling with Ben or Ophie. Being on her own was fine, she was a big girl, she could handle things herself. It was just…Nice to have back up every once in a while. Still, she found herself wandering around two and fro, looking for some unsuspecting civilian to drain so that she could make her ever present quota when she felt another chaos signature approaching. Deciding that she was feeling social, Meinel stopped walking and waited, curious as to who was going to show up this time.
When he spotted the other corrupt he felt a small smile upturn the corners of his mouth. While she had long hair, as they all did, his was longer as it dragged the ground trailing frost along the sidewalk as he moved on slippered feet. “A good night I hope?” He called out, raising a hand in greeting. His wings denoting himself a bit higher in rank, she was a super, and he wanted to check in and make sure she was doing alright.
“Would you like some company?” Questioning lightly, his voice near a whisper, as he drew up to stand at her side. Tonight was rather peaceful and some company might not be too bad, even if it wasn’t exactly what he wanted, he’d rather something to occupy his time with while out gathering energy. It was also a good idea since this time of year meant the city went out of control and all manner of things happened, including rampaging chickens.
Oh! Oh oh oh! Meinel’s eyes lit up the moment she recognized who it was that came to greet her. Nodding excitedly, it didn't take the shorter senshi too long before she was hugging Miyamoto as if he were a lost relative. “Big brother!” She gave him a pleasant squeeze before backing away, looking up at him with a smile. “Of course! How have you been? How is Lor---Stitch?” she covered her mouth, sighing when she accidentally name dropped her cousin. It was still strange to know that Lorcan had actually found someone to be with, even stranger that the person was a senshi.
But then again, stranger things have happened. Rene and Alex for one since they seemed like total opposites. She didn't want to think about the other things that could be going on between the two just as she wasn't about to shout from the heavens what she does with Ben in between the sheets. Such things were improper and embarrassing. The only one that even knows an inkling is Ophie and that's because she doesn't judge and gives good advice.
“You’re really happy to see me…” Questioning as the blond was hugging him, why she seemed to excited to see him he didn’t know, though he did know her and had run into her before. He was certain he hadn’t made much of an impression on her before, not enough to be hugged and greeted as excitedly as he was just now. “Stitch…oh.” It took a moment but he understood now, a certain dawning realization entering his eyes.
“Family then.” Nodding his head slowly as he spoke. “He’s well, likely asleep.” Though he wouldn’t know for certain, they didn’t live together, he assumed as much since he had work the next day and Lorcan kept to a set schedule including bed time and when he got up in the morning. It was all something he respected and understood, even if he no longer kept a set sleep schedule because he went out to gather energy or blow off steam.
“I’ve been well, it’s good to know you’re night has been good.” Peaceful he assumed, though he’d almost have preferred it if she’d told him she’d killed a knight…or a senshi. But at least her answer meant she was safe and well. “Out gathering energy…shall we walk and talk. We can gather together.”
“Yes! He is one of my older cousins~” Being the youngest meant that everyone was older than her sadly. There weren't many people she knew around her age other than Andy and she hasn't seen him for a bit, which caused her to worry. Lorcan being asleep just seemed to fit honestly, he loved his schedules and boring stuff like that. “Sure!” She tried to calm herself and walked, hands behind her back, while she was always on the lookout for some poor civilian or senshi. She really wanted to run into that moth thing she found a while back but she hasn't been able to catch it running about. “Have you seen senshi that…Look different? I saw one that had antenne like a moth…It didn't seem human.”
Maybe there were more of them? Was the order side getting their own version of youma? That would be frightening.
“Yeah, they are aliens…from space. They aren’t senshi like us, or like the other ones, they weren’t born here.” They were actual aliens…not just alien souls reborn here as humans. These senshi weren’t human at all, and he had a split opinion on it. He supposed there was the awe that most people would feel over there being life on other planets, on the idea of what else could be out there in space, but they were still senshi and he did hate order oh so much. He’d given up having a home planet to visit, after only seeing it once briefly, but the idea and whimsy of seeing space and walking on a foreign planet still was there. He just didn’t like senshi, or knights, and if he could just take the space and alien thing separate from the rest he’d be fine. But that wasn’t how it went…it was a package deal.
“Looks like I’ll be sticking with you tonight, and any other night you want, since you’re his cousin.” He couldn’t very well let any harm happen to her. He’d keep her safe and not just because she was a fellow corrupt, as most he figured could handle themselves, but she was family in a sense. Lorcan might not know it, because he hadn’t said it, but the other was family to him. He didn’t have family, not in blood anymore, he’d given them all up. Lorcan was part of the what he’d been cobbling together for himself, the life he was working to create, and he fell into the family category. He was family and so was Omen and now Meinel was, not that she knew as much, and he was ok with it. A little more world building was good, he liked piecing together more of himself - of who he was and who he would be.
Maybe he’d tell Lorcan he was family…that he wasn’t just the man he was dating. It was more than that…
“I would suggest taking note of any of these alien senshi you encounter.” Touching a frosty finger to her temple gently. “Any detail you can remember make a note of. It’ll be good to see what sorts of aliens have infested this city.”
Oh so she was partially correct with her assumption. Actual aliens huh? Now she really wanted to meet that moth again so she could study them and maybe keep something of them on display too…She shivered a bit when the finger touched her temple but she knew he didn't mean any harm by it. “Alright, I can do that. I haven't seen the moth one in a bit, but I'll keep a lookout.” The walk was uneventful, so far but then Meinel spotted what looked to be some sort of nest with eggs in it.
“Am I seeing things? Or is that a nest of giant eggs?” Curiosity got the best of her and she started walking towards said nest, wondering why the eggs were so big. She didn't notice the red eyes staring at her fron the shadows till she was just a bit too close. Meinel looked up and gasped, quickly backing up when the monster went to kick her with it's feet.
“Anything you remember about the moth I suggest you write down, and put into the database as well.” Even if it wasn’t much he knew every bit counted, they had all learned that lesson with that big battle and the information gathering beforehand. Information was important, very important, and any bit was good…especially when it was about the enemy.
Watching as Meinel spotted something he stopped walking…and then he heard her words, and registered them. “s**t.” Eggs…he knew just what that meant and it wasn’t good. “You don’t want to….never mind.” Because before he could warn her the mother chicken, he still debated it actually being a chicken, was making to attack her. “Try your magic on it.” His own magic aiming for peoples emotions might just make things worse, anger the bird further, he wasn’t going to risk it to find out. “Those eggs come with an angry mother, she’s going to try and kill us.” Or eat them, he wasn’t sure, he didn’t care what the mother chicken was aiming to do…just what she was going to do to them.
Oh! Why didn't… Well, Miyamoto tried to warn her she supposed. Looking back at the eternal while dodging it's beak, Meinel shook her head. “I'm not sure if that is a good idea! But…” It was worth a try right? Making sure she was a good distance away, Meinel used her first stage power, running her finger along the palm of her opposite hand. A floral wine scent started to flow around her. The chicken[?] stumbled a bit as if it were dazed, before coming towards her while it was in a stupor. “Ummmmn! What now?” She knew her power did poison slightly, but it only worked for a set amount of time.
It was unknown how the power would work against animals or creatures though.
“If it doesn’t attack you we can try and put distance down…it won’t try and attack you. I’m hoping it will decide to stay with it’s babies, if it comes down to you or them.” But it liking her suddenly would keep it from attacking, for a time, he was hopeful they could manage something. Figuring out what to do like this, without time to work a proper plan, he could only hope his idea would work as he imagined.
“I would think a mother would put its young, eggs in this case, over other emotions and so will let us escape.” Without any further harm. “You’re not hurt, right?” Because if he had to bring her to Lorcan, to explain why his little cousin was hurt, he would even though he may not enjoy that. Seeing Lorcan fuss over her, did he fuss over his family members? He didn’t think he’d ever seen him fuss over anyone, though he had good bedside manner, he hadn’t ever seen him work on family either….
“Sounds like a plan!” Since the chicken was currently docile, Meinel slowly started to back away to put some distance between her and the chicken. Once she was next to Miyamoto, she looked to him. “I'm fine~ Let’s just…..Get out of here while we still can? Id rather not become chicken food.” She could already see that her powers were starting to wane so it would be better to get while the getting is good.
“Good.” He did not want to bring her to Lorcan injured, even if it would answer the question now rolling about in his mind. Did the other fuss and baby patients, family members, or was he just down to business serious all the time. Pulling the blond into his arms he focused on where he wanted them to be, somewhere far from this bird, and teleported them out. Good thing one of them could teleport.
