The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn't the first time they've appeared in Destiny City, but no one's been able to tell where they came from or where they're going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

Odainsaker was walking through a field in the park, she was listening to Butterfly by smile.dk. Being on an DDR kick lately the squire of cosmos was humming to the song as she paused an aura caught her attention, of some sort of senshi near by.
Not only that, the squire got distracted by a firefly that flit past her. While a firefly wasn't unusual, what was unusual was the fact the firefly was an unnatural color. The first one that caught her attention was blue, another shortly after was red. The squire looked confused and took off her headphones watching the fireflies.
She figured she'd be joined shortly by the aura she felt so she was interesting watching the fireflies but not so much she wouldn't notice anyone's arrival. "Fascinating." The squire mused.

Minkowski's mind was a bit scrambled at the moment.
The past few months had been strange in the follow up to what she had experienced in space. Raina had always been so good at putting on a brave face, but Anming was not, necessarily. She shrunk. She worried about the future. She wondered if any place in the world was safe. She wondered if her own world was safe. She wondered if continuing to work on pastries was what she should be spending her time on-
So when her mind got too mixed up, she went on a walk.
What she wasn't expecting on her walk was to see something so beautiful. At first, she thought someone might've put up some hanging decor on the streets or pathways through the park, but then she realized they were moving. They were moving toward her, away from her, mingling with each other, catching the attention of people beside her. She reached out, letting one land on her hand for a moment before it flit away.
Her gaze found and met the knight that was a perfect fit for the colours around.
Odain had been offering her hand to any of the fireflies that would give it any attention. So far none had come close enough to land and she looked thoughtful. Maybe they weren't interested in landing on people.
She smiled when the other joined her and murmured really quietly. "Hello~" Odain said sweetly as she watched another firefly flit around. "I'm Odainsaker!"
She introduced herself as she finally got one of the fireflies to land on her hand she softly moved watching the bug. "I've seen some odd and interesting things lately but I don't think I've seen such a colorful firefly before." She said softly and looked over towards the senshi, "Have you?"

Minkowski hadn't been expecting someone to talk to her, and jumped just slightly when she was introduced to somebody's name. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves, and then turned towards the Cosmos Knight more fully. The rainbow colours of the fireflies fit around her so well and beautifully. "Minkowski," she murmured, in turn.
She cleared her throat and straightened her back. Minkowski had been part of this life longer than she remembered, honestly, and yet she not only couldn't quite clamp her nerves, she also had never seen anything like this. Her eyes scanned the environment, trying to pluck out anything that might've been familiar. Had she seen this once?
"No, I don't believe so," Minkowski reached out for another firefly, hoping they would land. "They give me ideas for cookies I can make, though. Make little seasonal decor with tiny colourful specks on them." She giggled. "I suppose that would be popular anyway, even without this."
There, that was more words, right?
These were so beautiful, though. Beauty was always worth talking about.
Odain frowned slightly when the other jumped. She didn't mean to startle the other. The smile returned quickly though as the other introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you Minkowski! That's a pretty name."
Odain's headphones were still playing music just enough to be able to hear it faintly. The song had switched to another DDR song, casltes in the sky. Odain was swaying in time with the tune while listening Minkowski said she didn't think she'd seen anything like it either.
There was a mention of cookies, "Ohhh cookies! Do you sell them? Because I would totally buy pretty firefly cookies." Odain was not one to turn down whimsy or tasty sweets. "I'm sure they'd be popular. People like stuff like that."
There was a pause as she watched the fireflies again. "I wonder if I could make an outfit based on the fireflies..." Odain mused thinking about what might be needed to do such an outfit. "Maybe a skirt with little colorful lights?"

To hear her idea endorsed and also asked further about brought some light to Minkowski's features. Perhaps she should be specific more often, though the thoughts about her own shiness were buried under the chance to talk about her own baking experience. "I do, actually! I'm a baker, professionally. Went to culinary school." Minkowski was always eager to talk about her chosen field. Baking was something that brought her a lot of comfort. It was nice to see people be excited about things she made and also be comforted, too.
... Maybe that big snake trapped in the sky just needed some baked goods and it would just chill out and leave them alone.
Probably not. Minkowski buried the thought as she watched Odainsaker's sways. They were sways she instinctually mirrored just slightly, even if she couldn't quite hear the music that was pumping into Odainsaker's head. "Oh, I've seen skirts like that," and she had, honestly. On Pinterest, often, but, "with little LEDs in the skirt, right? That would be super pretty."
Minkowski could only imagine how much attention that would draw. She might explode, but it sounded like Odainsaker might've wanted those eyes on her.
