Storm stretched as he walked through the city. The weather had been unseasonably cool in his opinion and the night after a rain storm made things that much more interesting.

The dark mirror senshi paused as he looked around, he felt an aura. Some sort of knight perhaps? He moved to investigate the source and see who he was about to run into. Maybe they'd be interested in a spar or something?

Though he was still learning where each faction kind of stood with the other, so far he'd had fairly pleasant encounters but he still needed to get use to the magical boy aspect of this whole thing. It was quite a bit more than what his fire dancing was. It wasn't long before he saw a shock of pale blonde hair, it reminded him of the moonlight if he was honest.

"Aloha, fine evening isn't it?" He called hoping not to startle the page.

Howick didn't draw her weapon yet. The post-storm quiet was too lovely to shatter with unnecessary dramatics. But her senses didn't lie: someone magical was near. Not quite Chaos, not quite Order. A gray-zone hum, laced with heat and static.

Then he appeared.

He had the confident, strolling gait of someone used to making an entrance short, hair long, and eyes that were a little too vivid to be anything human. Definitely magical. Definitely not normal. But not hostile. At least not right away.

Her lips twitched as she caught his greeting.

Aloha? she echoed, amusement lacing her voice. That's not how most people say hello, but points for creativity.

She let her gaze travel over him with a mixture of caution and curiosity, then flicked back up to meet his.

She didn't move toward him, but didn't step back either. The hourglass at her side pulsed faintly with moonlight, like it was listening too.

Not here to start anything. Unless you are.

She rocked back on one foot and gave him a small, amused smile. You don't seem like the pick-a-fight type, though. More... fire-dancer in a storm?

A brow arched in playful challenge.

There was a chuckle from Storm as she said she gave him points for creativity, "Ah back home it's fairly normal." He said softly.

He rolled his shoulders when she said not here to start anything unless he was, "Not here to start any trouble though, I was hoping to find someone to have a spar with."

The dark mirror senshi admitted. "But I do enjoy fire dancing as well." He said since she mentioned it.

He offered a hand, "Dark Mirror Sailor Storm, Senshi of Volcanic Lightning." He offered since he figured he'd introduced himself if he wanted a friendly battle, they needed to know each other right?

He curiously glanced at her hour glass, "Your hour glass is very interesting."

Howick let out a quiet laugh, the sound light and genuine.

Fair enough. I guess I should be grateful you didn't lead with 'sup' or ˜hey magic girl. Her head tilted slightly as he explained his intentions. A spar, huh? That's refreshingly direct. Most people wait at least five minutes before asking to get punched.

Her gaze dropped briefly to his offered hand. She hesitated not out of fear, but calculation then stepped forward to take it, her grip firm, grounded.

Howick. Page of the Moon, she echoed formally, then added with a small smile, Knight-in-training, technically. No cool title yet, but I make up for it with style.

It's mostly decorative she said with a small shrug. Old, cracked, a little mysterious. Kind of like a promise no one's explained to me yet.

She looked back at him with something between humor and warning in her eyes.

But it still means something. Or it will.

Then, with a half-step back, she glanced around the quiet, glistening stretch of street. So. You looking for a full-on duel or something more... graceful? I don't dance with fire, but I can move like I've got moonlight in my bones.

She raised an eyebrow, one hand resting loosely near the pendant.

Your move, lightning boy.

Storm grinned and shrugged softly when she said she was surprised when he didn't lead with sup or hey magical girl. It was fair, "I guess bonus points for the Hawaiian then."

He gave a nod, "Ah well, I usually would but it seemed more fitting to not beat around the bush as they say." He shook her hand firmly as well and looked brightly "AH I have yet to meet a Knight - even in training, it's a pleasure!"

There was a soft nod as she explained her glass, "Well I hope the mysterious promise leads you on an epic adventure." He said and when she said it still meant something and stepped back he took the same cue.

He seemed thoughtful when she asked if he was looking for a full on duel or something more graceful. He gave it a thought for a moment before replying, "Lets aim for more graceful."

When she said it was his move the senshi nodded and wasted no time calling his attack, "Venting Charge!" He watched as the earth seemed to shake and crack open, volcanic vents opening and the air crackled with a charge from the lightning that joined thanks to the dust. "Lets go~!"

Sailor Scout Attack: Venting Charge

When storm calls out his attack this causes vents** to open in the earth much like volcanic vents in a three and a half foot radius around him. From within those vents small particles of ash and dust swell and swirl upwards in flurries causing static electricity that can shock anyone within range of the clouds or inside of the clouds; they reach a maximum height of seven foot, but become less dense the higher up the clouds reach. This is fairly easy to dodge as long as the people caught up in the affected area is aware of their surroundings. This attack can last up to twenty seconds and be used twice but it has a thirty second recharge.

**The vents can be trip hazards. There's no real damage from the vent's themselves; but the static/electric charge is at it's highest levels here.

The ground shuddered under her boots, the sudden heat and static making the fine hairs along her arms stand on end. She took a quick, instinctive step back, amber eyes darting to the jagged fissures blooming across the pavement. Steam curled upward, carrying with it the acrid bite of scorched stone.

“So much for a slow warm-up,” she said, though her voice carried more thrill than fear.

The cracks chased toward her feet, and she sprang sideways, boots splashing in a shallow puddle left from the earlier rain. She didn’t reach for her hourglass—the cracked pendant at her chest couldn’t do much except swing against her sternum—but her movements stayed light, fluid. Grace over brute force.

“I’m starting to think ‘graceful’ means something different to you,” she called, circling him with deliberate distance. Her footing shifted between wet patches and solid ground, watching the vents spit their ghostly heat.

Without a flashy weapon or magic, she relied on timing, letting the rhythm of his attack guide her. Each crack, each hiss of steam, she treated like a beat in a song she was learning on the fly.

“You’ll have to work for it, lightning boy,” she added with a quick grin before darting in, not to land a blow, but to see just how close she could get without getting caught in the molten chaos.

There was a chuckle from Storm. "Well, I guess but you still have to be graceful to get around this battlefield" There was a wink as he moved.

When she called he'd have to work for it and watched her movements before moving on his own. "Oh I do hope I have to work for it, because I think this'll be fun!"

Bare footed he stepped watching the fissures and cracks as he moved waiting for her to come close enough he twisted, much as if he was fire dancing just without his batons. It was really a good practice field if you asked the dark mirror senshi. "Give me your best shot."

Howick’s brows lifted at his wink, but she didn’t break her stride. “Barefoot in the middle of fissures and lightning—bold move. I’d call that reckless, not graceful.”

Still, she couldn’t deny the way he moved. There was an artistry to it, like each step knew where the danger was before it bloomed. She had no flashy magic to answer with—only instinct, training, and the sharpness of her focus.

When he twisted like a fire-dancer, she matched the rhythm instead of fighting it. Her boots skimmed across slick pavement, the cracked hourglass at her chest bouncing with each dodge. She dipped into a low sweep, not strong enough to topple him, but sharp enough to test his balance.

There was a chuckle, "Perhaps it is reckless but I cannot change the fuku sadly. So I have to work with what I got."

When she matched his rhythm there was another grin, as she moved into a low sweep and tested his balance he moved into a twirl and countered her sweep when he finished his spin with an attempt to pull her into a form for tango.

“Best shot?” she said with a breathless laugh, straightening again. “Sorry to disappoint—Pages don’t come with lightning bolts or volcanoes. You’ll have to settle for quick feet and sharper timing.”

She pivoted lightly on her heel, circling him again, her amber eyes sparking with competitive challenge. “But hey… if you wanted easy, you should’ve picked someone else.”

"Sadly, we don't chose the outfit the magic does it seems."

There was a laugh as he moved and matched her movements, though the sweep was interesting and while it wasn't enough to topple him he used the momentum from the move to channel it into a flip.

"Well just because you don't come with fancy magic doesn't mean you don't have a best shot~! Quick feet and sharp timing also mean a lot on the battlefield too, if you can't keep out of the way how can you expect to survive?"

"I never said I wanted easy~!" There was a grin, "Besides, the flashy magic was just to give us something to dance around."

He moved to aim a sweep that was equal to hers from before to see how she'd counter it.
