[Backdated to Early March]

Idirian was nervous, which was dumb. It was just a doctor’s appointment with Noa. For the baby. Their baby. That thought made him smile as he parked outside Noa’s apartment. He definitely needed to ask her to move in with him soon. Before the baby was born, so they could decorate a nursery together. After parking, he went up to her door and knocked.

“Noa, it’s me,” he said. She kept her door locked now, even when she was home, which he was thankful for. He hadn’t liked her leaving it unlocked before, but now that she was pregnant he had insisted. He leaned against the wall to the side of her door to wait for her.

The door opened to reveal a very ready Noa accompanied with her smaller purse. Her stomach was still small enough that it barely poked out in the overalls she wore, considering she was just entering her second month of pregnancy. “Well hello ‘it’s me’.” She let out a small giggle, “Ready to go? I assume you want to drive or do you want to squeeze into my little person car?” Granted, it was only little because Idri was literally a foot taller than her, but she still gave him the option. She knew he had some sort of fancy SUV, since she's been in it before, but driving him around every once in a while wouldn't hurt.

While she waited for his answer, she turned around to lock the door. It was still so strange not leaving it unlocked. Sometimes when she would come home from her other job she would literally sit there at the door if she was tired enough [her little bun made sure she was], wondering why it wouldn't open only to remember it was locked.

She’s not a blonde, she's just pregnant and tired…..That was the excuse she was sticking with.

Idri snorted at her softly, smiling and leaning down to steal a kiss before she turned away to lock her door. He debated her question for a moment before answering. “You can drive if you want to,” he said. His answer might surprise her, since he was usually uncomfortable in her smaller car, but he loved seeing her smile. Being uncomfortable for a little while wouldn’t hurt him. Noa was going to be uncomfortable for eight more months. And then labor and birth?

Yeah, he could stand being uncomfortable for a little while considering what she had to go through. He would be there every step of the way, though, doing whatever he could to make it better. He was sure Ainsley would help, too. His sister was so excited to be an aunt, but he had made her promise not to tell their own aunt until he and Noa were ready.

Giving her giant boyfriend a smile, Noa started leading the way to the in door garage where she kept her car, unlocking it and getting in. Once Idri was settled, she started the drive to the doctors, which should only take about ten minutes or less.

He let her take the lead, reaching down to take her hand in his as they walked. Once they got to her car, he folded himself in and off they went.

About twenty minutes later, they were shown into an exam room where they would wait for the doctor. Idri pulled the chair next to the exam table where Noa sat and laid his arm behind her. His knee kept bouncing as they waited; the only outward sign of his nerves. He smiled over at her and reminded himself that her last appointment had gone fine and she was healthy.

This was strange…

Noa could see Idri’s leg bouncing and it was very peculiar to her since she's never seen him do it before. “You okay, big guy?” There was a bit of a tease to her voice and she figured he was nervous [rightfully so since this is his first child and they were both new to this experience], so being serious wasn't the proper way to address and destress. “I'm going to be okay and during the first appointment everything was in the green [other than the fact that she was bawling her eyes out every five seconds but she wasn't going to let him in on that little fact.]. I'm sure everything will be fine this time around too alright?” She placed her hand on the bouncing leg to get him to stop [realistically, Idri was way stronger than her so if he did stop it was of his own volition].

Idri looked up when Noa spoke and gave her a small smile. Was he okay? Yes and no. Yes because the woman he loved was going to have his baby, and no because he had made the mistake of going down a rabbit hole about pregnancy the night before. He hadn't even realized his leg had been bouncing until her small hand covered his knee. Under her touch, he stilled and took a deep breath. Logically there was no reason for him to be more nervous than Noa was.

“I'm okay,” he said softly and laid his hand over hers. He actually couldn't remember a time in his life that he had ever been this highly strung. Granted, Ainsley had done some things as a little kid that had jangled his nerves, but this felt different. He just had to remember he wouldn't be doing this alone. “Just a little…anxious, I guess,” he confessed with a soft chuckle. He nodded as Noa reassured him that everything should be perfectly fine at this appointment just like it had been at her last appointment. Another deep breath and he forced his nerves down further. No reason getting nervous if Noa wasn't nervous, right?

It always amazed her just how small Idri often made her feel sometimes. But then again, giant vs woman of average height. “D’awwwww….Big scawry Idri is anxious! Gasp I never thought I’d see the day!” She giggled, laying her head on his arm just as the nurse called them back to see the doctor. Noa stood up, taking hold of Idri’s hand to “pull” him behind her. The nurse gave them both a smile and asked if Idri was the father, to which Noa gave a proud nod. If Bets were with her she would say she was the baby daddy, and laugh when the nurse either understood the joke or got confused as ********.

Either way, she was nervous, but still super excited for Idri to hopefully see an ultrasound of the little bean she was incubating in her body. Yes, she was totally going to be one of those mothers that kept everything about her child from conception to…Well, infinity. Or as long as she lived, then she would expect her child to do the same thing to their child. Carry it on like a new tradition of sorts.
