The Negaverse was collecting information, a databse, and he was certain order was collecting information as well. They might not be the most organized group, chaos was ironically the most organized in his opinion, but he wanted to know what information they had collected. He just needed to find someone who might share that information with him, and that wasn't going to be an easy task. Had Bazzite, or whatever name they'd gained upon becoming a knight, had been around he'd have hunted them down to find out. Their words about him being a good person still rang in his ears from time to time, he could have killed someone infront of them and they'd still have thought him good, they were foolish. They also weren't around.

That had him thinking of someone else who had changed sides, because going for someone who had changed sides meant they knew how the Negaverse opperated and collected information. The question was...could he find them. Natron was someone he'd known even as a civilian, a classamte of his, they'd been big on aliens and all manner of tin foil hat things...not too far from how Bazzite had been before the youmafication thing. Natron had made it to general, unlike the white haired officer turned youma...turned knight. While he didn't know the details behind Natron changing sides he was hoping that what was going on might have the other willing to share information, given the threat posed to Earth by a big alien serpent. He might understand the serious nature of things and the need for any information he might have which differed from what he alreayd had, and he did have a good amount of information. But it wasn't everything, he was sure of it.

With the ill tidings from Kerberos, Lyonesse found himself dragged out of pseudo-retirement. (Was it really "retirement" when it was "mostly focusing on his Wonder, since it had years of neglect to bring it back from"? Maybe. Still.)

Rarely did he walk the streets of Destiny City as Lyonesse. He doubted he was much of a wanted man anymore, but it still seemed wiser to be careful. He'd been with the Negaverse for a very long time, and he doubted they'd been pleased when he fled.

But there was a dangerous threat afoot, and ominous storms that had even affected the magical island Lyonesse protected, and that meant being out, looking for familiar faces to see what the Negaverse knew.

And there was one.

With all the grace of someone used to magical physicality, Lyonesse dropped from the roof he'd been standing on to the ground in front of Benitoite, casually leaning on his great wooden sword.

"Benitoite. Been a while."

Laughing the general nodded his head. "Indeed, and surprisingly...the person I'd been looking for." He stated as he looked the knight over, foot to top of his head. That wooden sword didn't bother him, it wasn't a threat, and the person handling it wasn't either as far as he figured it. "Not looking for a fight tonight I hope. I was looking to have a conversation perhaps, in the hopes you are the same Natron I once knew...or at least some of you is the same." He knew memories were always lost when someone changed sides, it was inevitable, but what was lost always differed. Would there be enough of their civilian side to intrest them in what was going on? In what information he posessed?

"You've noticed the recent...change in weather I take it. I'm wondering if you might have any insight on it..." I do have some information but I'm wondering if you, or order, have any information I might be lacking. I'm willing to share..if you are." And if the other had just landed infront of him intending to talk and not fight, of course.

"It's Lyonesse, now." The correction was firm but not particularly emotional--Benitoite had no way to know.

"As for the rest, I'm well aware of what's going on. Kerberos and I talk," he said, which was only so much of a revelation. They were both traitors, after all, as far as the Negaverse was concerned. Let it seem like a conspiracy of some sort--the more allies he could present himself as having, the better. "I'm happy to share what information I have. It's not much, I'm afraid, and you might know more than I do."

No reason to pretend he had access to things he didn't. It would come out clear enough anyway.

"Are you looking for anything specific? Or just hoping I happen to know something?"

"Tht's good, so he explained the evening in space than." Assuming they likely filled Lyonesse in on everything, at least he was going to assume as much, and maybe he could find out if Kerberos had a spike like he did or not. "I might but I can share what I know in return. Considering what we may be up against it's a good idea to work together at the moment, we'll need what strength we can gather." He was not looking forard to talking to his two cousins, and the eternal one of his cousins was dating. Depending on how that went he'd decide if he wanted to talk to his other cousins, though it would be best if he talked to them.

"A bit of both actually. When I saw things up there I went right to thinking Norse mythology, so I went looking for a Jupiter knight, according to them I should be looking perhaps to other mythology. So, I'm wondering if you might have any clues or anything at your wonder, any information on something similar to this serpent." Siince Valhalla had suggested he look elsewhere and deal with Earth not Jupiter and Norse mythology.

"By chance, did Kerberos get one of the spikes? I'm wondering if there is any information on it that your side may have which mine does not."

"He did, yes," Lyonesse acknowledged. "But we only know so much. I know he's working on following a few different leads, including on the Moon." He shrugged. "We'll see if they manage to find anything there."

He was skeptical, to say the absolute least. But he certainly wasn't going to stop looking.

"We can try. I don't know what there would be to be found at my Wonder--but I'm not opposed to looking. Though I wouldn't expect to find answers in any particular Earth mythology. Whatever might be left, if anything, is likely twisted and distorted by time and circumstance. I will say, though: Kerberos was able to learn some names for the creature, and none sound like anything I've heard in mythology. Science fiction or fantasy, perhaps--but the Herald of the Dark Star isn't exactly ancient Greek."

It was something, though, in theory.

"Kerberos didn't get one, no. His friend Murikabushi did. But those things remain a mystery."

"I've been trying to follow what I can as well. Part of it has been seeing how far this change in weather goes, so far it's in this system but also it seems our alien merchant knows about it as well. So I'd say the range is far, if I'm guessing." Which wasn't good, it meant the thing had a lot of power.

"An ancient game of telephone is what this is, thigns changed by time and language, people trying to understand something in another language and distorting and changing it. That name though, it certainly wouldn't fit mythology, it certainly says a lot for what this pest is capable of. Pest being the term the merchant used for it." And he would agreeif said pest wasn't also something which killed worlds.

"Have you seen the spike that Murikabushi has?" He was certain he'd butchered that name, it was foreign on his tongue and hard to wrap his head about, he wouldn't apologize though since the butchering was purely an accident. It wasn't a language he'd ever heard, he was fairly certain no one in his family had married an asain so it wasn't a language he'd heard at family gatherings.

"I wonder if we can find a myth that could have been twisted from this real herald of the dark star - if we can back track it in a way." Holding a hand out to the other then, a smile given to the taller. "Shall we be off? I'd like to see this wonder of yours and to see if perhaps we can't do some research? I'll tell you now that the spike has what looks like a galaxy inside of it, or at least a solar system, I've no idea why but I do wonder if it's not like the end of men in black - the first movie. It's a lightning rod though...the spikes." He might as well offer something, some bit of information, before asking for space travel. If he didn't offer anything it might seem like he was looking to just gather information and not share, not give a little. He had to play nice...so he'd try. [/cololr]

Lyonesse nodded. That was the way of trying to guess from stories--the tales got taller in the telling, and whatever nuggets of truth were in them got distorted.

"Pest. Well. That's a way to describe an ancient, world-eating monster." Sometimes Almadel really did put Lyonesse on edge. There were just enough hints that there was something more to him than the facade he put on--he didn't like the not knowing. Never had. Especially when the thing he didn't know could be a potential threat.

"I haven't seen it in person, no." Murikabushi wasn't his friend; he'd never met the man. Someone his ex trusted, obviously, but that didn't give them any particular relationship. Still, he did slightly wrinkle his nose at Benitoite's pronunciation, but--well, whatever.

Still, he put his hand on Beni's.

"We'll have to see exactly what those things are for," he said. "Perhaps there is something contained within--they're powerful, if nothing else. And drawing lightning makes sense if their job is to contain a storm creature." That was still mostly new information to him, though it might not have been to others. The problem of mostly being on the periphery of this whole...thing.

When he carried them to his Wonder, it was dark, though they found themselves shielded under the weeping branches of the Sun Tree, its glowing blossoms providing a light. Lyonesse glanced upwards, and through the canopy, he could see it--purple clouds.

"Well. It's definitely here."

The storm hadn't broken yet, but it seemed like a guarantee.

"Yes, and it's that retelling of stories, or trying to understand things that you don't have a word for, which had me thinking to look at Norse mythology at first. I suppose I jumped to that conclusion because it made sense, and I was perhaps in a rush to start putting puzzle pieces together." All things considered could he really be blamed for that? He figured most would jump right into trying to sort things out, though he reallyt should have taken more time.

Staring up at the brnaches over his head, and the glowing flowers, fingers reached out to gently touch them. Flowers, and plants in general, fascinated him and were the blonds favorite thing. He had found a love for flora at a young age and he hadn't shaken it since, not that he wanted to either, and to see glowing flowers...he wished he could take some home. Taking home seeds to grow would also be nice. He doubted either could happen though, one would garner questions and the other would be impossible.

Peeking out he stared up at the sky. "Yeah, I wonder if anywhere isn't seeing this or similar. If there is an end to this..." A limit to this pests reach, it would be nice to find a limit if there was one. "To be honest I would have thought a lightening rod would just feed more power to a storm beast. I'd have thoguht of something to smother or dampen it's power. Not using the same element." Or at least one that was so similar.

"We should head inside, if ther is a building, before it rains." If it was going to, he wasn't entierly sure it would. It would also be nice to not keep staring at the flowers, before he decided to try and pick some to take home, regardless of questions or anything else, they were attractive.

Lyonesse shrugged. It made sense to want to find answers, whatever direction that took you in.

And anyway, they had one immediately. Even the strange, magicalspace of Earth wonders was affected by...whatever this was.

"I don't like this," Lyonesse said. "I don't know what it means, but those storms being here...I don't think I have to tell you what bad news that is."

He shook his head, and beckoned for Benitoite to follow him. "People are reporting them out in space. Even on far-flung worlds. Honestly, it's sort of interesting--the storm was on Earth the first night, right?" He found his mind going a mile a minute, trying to draw connections as he led Beni to the town hall/Knight's residence. While there were other structures, and some of them were even starting to be in fairly good shape after all the effort Lyonesse had put into this place, it was still the most complete by far, and the one likely to be safest from any storms.

And if he pushed the double doors open with a little extra drama than technically required, well, he was showing this place off. He turned to face Benitoite, walking backwards with a slightly smug grin on his face.

"This was the town hall, of sorts. You might have noticed there was a village here--the Knight's apartments are upstairs, but here," he gestured to the open hall around him, dotted with tables and with a raised stage at the far back, overlooked by balconies from the floor above, "is where the people met to hear from their Knight and debate the news of the day and the issues of the village. It seems to me that this place attracted a lot of artists, and some of the arguments I've remembered Leolin--the past Lyonesse--mediating were pretty intense. The particulars of handspun wool yarn was incredibly serious business."

Everything seemed to be decorated, too--the edges of the balconies, the sides of the tables and chairs and benches, and the front of the stage were all carved with flowers and the encircled-cross symbol of Earth.

"They used to fill this place with flowers, a thousand years ago. Garlands made from the blossoms of the Sun Tree for lighting. It was...beautiful, when it was whole."

There was something melancholy in his voice.

No matter how much work he put in, this place would never be the same again.

"No, you don't need to tell me. i've seen them elsewhere in space as well." Came the softly spoken words, eyes locked on the sky above them. "This thing has power, and a lot it seems, I dislike this immensly and wonder if we cannot remake the spikes..incase it ever gets loose again." As he was assuming it would be chained again, he didn't think enough people would want it dead. If it were chained, and broke loose again, it would pointless if it all fell apart in the future.

"Yes, though I wonder if it wasn't out there even then. But to know it's out on far off places...I dislike it." That didn't sit well with him, for obvious reasons, following the other he took the time to look around. He didn't often go into space, he didn't much care for it really, there were some things he did like about it such as the flora. Sometimes the architecture was also enjoyable and eye catching, for various reason, most of this was expected aside from the flowers.

"Serious business...handspun wool...I suppose back then it would be. People needed warm clothing and that came from wool." And that was handspun back in ancient times, it made sense, even if it was something which had him wanting to roll his eyes hearing about it now. "I assume though that records were kept here somewhere, detailed records, if someone was holding court here." Maybe that meant something useful would be here as well, perhaps not.

And there was mention of the flowers again, the glowing ones, and he glanced about them before nodding. "I can see the charm in that. How long does the glow last once they're picked?" Surely the other knew, had tried to hang them about here at some point, and why was the other not hanging them about now? As much as he didn't find value in wonders, what use did they have when you still needed to live on Earth? But he did like the idea of decorating here with those flowers. He was, for a moment, very tempted to ask for some of those flowers..for personal reasons. He would decorate his home with them, because they were lovely. Parting his lips, oh so tempted to ask, he closed his mouth then and returned his focus to the other.

"I don't see the whole appeal to these wonders...it's like going back in time and living with none of the convience of modern times." Which made it impossible in his eyes. "Perhaps it's also because, if Babylon's little trinket was right, my wonder would be on a cold planet...and I'd prefer to avoid such." Being as small as he was Benitoite was very old friends with coldness, he just didn't have much in terms of insulation or body heat. He borrowed, and stole, body heat from those around him and often drown himself under blankets.

Lyonesse nodded, frowning. "Whatever we can do to ensure this thing isn't a threat again in the future, I want to see it done." It was as simple as that. Kicking the can to future generations didn't sit well with him.

He kept walking, leading towards the back of the room. "There's court records, arbitration details, things like that. I can't read most of it--I just sort of know what it is. But if there's any hints about this thing, they'd be there, though I can't imagine what." Not that he was opposed to looking, but a great cosmic threat being recorded in the annals of a little artist enclave mostly made remarkable by the magic of the Sun Tree was...well, they could certainly look. "We'll have to go old, but the older we go the less things make sense. Also, I'm pretty sure half the records are in some code or another."

Or it was just something he couldn't read. Difficult to say.

Still, he led Benitoite behind the stage, to the records room. It had bene locked, when he first started coming here, but he'd managed to get in, and now...well, it was sort of peaceful, in the way of an old library. Books and scrolls littered shelves that stretched quite a ways back, and the shelves were marked in ways that indicated these records were meticulously organized, even if the scheme no longer seemed apparent since anything explaining it was long gone.

"Not as long as they would before," Lyonesse said. "There was magic in the weaving I haven't been able to replicate. And I'm reluctant to try too many times; the Sun Tree took a long time to come back to blooming. I'm worried taking too much might damage it." He sighed, faintly, and walked towards the back of the archives. "Older records further back," he explained.

"Anyway, I'm not looking to live her.e Just to understand it. Restore as much as I can. It was dead, derelict, and silent when I got here for the first time, Beni. But there's songbirds now. Squirrels. Making somewhere come back to life by the efforts of my own hands...there's value in that." He snorted, briefly. "Maybe I'd think differently if I had a less pleasant Wonder. But an island that always seems to be in pleasant summer unless something weird is going on? Nice place to visit."

"I agree, I don't know if everyone else will agree with that. I don't even know if we can do that. I know we can rechain it, we have the tools for that, but to kill it...." Trailing off as he stared up at the other, tilting his head. "The mercahnt says it needs to die, thatg we should just kill it.. I don't like the chance of it being freed in the future someone, by people who have long forgotten it." And either it became a myth that wasn't real, and never had been, or it simply didn't exsist at all. The chance of it getting free then and no one having a clue...he didn't like it. "I don't like passing on our problems to others."

Listening to the other as he followed he nodded his head. "Taking too much could throw a plant into shock and kill it, you're right to not pluck too much at once. I can...if you want....lend you books on plants. I don't know how relevant they'll be..." But he had two green tumbs and to keep such a rare plant alive...he was willing to play nicer than he normally would, even for this mission, because that tree was especially nice. He cared for plants, a lot, and to any who actually knew him it wouldn't be a surprise that he was offering such assistence.

"Mmm, I suppose I can understand though I don't really relate. While it is nice to visit and see it isn't somewhere I'd get much time to spend, too busy with life on Earth. From family to work to duties there...being a knight and having a wonder to tend to would be utterly pointless. Not to mention if Babylon's item was right...I'd be a Castor knight." So a cold place with a prince he couldn't stand - no thank you. "I wouldn't be as lucky as you, or as lucky as some others. That's also why my offer for books, for help with plants, will stand beyond this mission to save the planet. I like plants and I'd like to know that tree is getting proper care." While some knights, some senshi, certianly saw him for the kilelr he was that most certainly wasn't all that he was. He was a human and thus not so oone dimensional. He had a love for plants and that was making itself known right now, as he spoke and in his offer, he wouldn't just offer such help to anyone.

"I'd hope you won't tell anyone of this offer. It's not an olive branch between us...we are still on opposing sides. But the offer is what it is." Whatever that was, he wasn't sure what to call it really.

"The magic will come in time, it might allow you time to collect flowers at a pace tha tgwon't unsettle the tree. It might be somewhere in those documents..." Right along with something on this beast perhaps, because it was rather dangerous and caused such weather issues. It might have been noted, he was hoping.

Lyonesse looked genuinely surprised by the offer. Assistance from a Negaverse General in the tending of his Wonder wasn't exactly something he'd expected. But perhaps expectations were not exactly worth holding onto, at this point.

"I don't know how much it will matter for the Sun Tree," he said, thinking of the Code tucked into its roots, "since I think it mostly works by magic? But there are a lot of other plants here that might need care, so...if you're willing, I'll take them. And I'll return them undamaged." It probably went without saying, but he felt the need to make the promise anyway.

When Benitoite revealed exactly what Knight allegiance he'd been told he would have, Lyonesse snorted. "Oh, yeah, I'd be singing a different tune if I'd gotten something I was so thoroughly opposed to. Never dealt with Castor much, myself, but I know Kerberos has opinions." All of them almost hilariously negative. "I recall hearing about an incident with a pile of dead Lieutenants? Idiotic behavior. Dramatic. Swinging his--" He exhaled. "You catch my drift, I think. So yeah."

A wry smile crossed his lips. "Oh, perish the thought. We can swing weapons at each other while I report on the progress of my gardens, if it'll make you feel better." His attention turned to the scrolls on the shelves, carefully drawing his fingers over them, just enough to touch, to see if anything felt--he didn't know. Like it needed his attention. Magic was like that sometimes.

"It's still a plant and it's still Earth, some things likely hold true, it will if nothing else give insight into tending to plants. But, if that tree works on magic than perhaps the books I can offer would be best for the others, at least it'll ensure they thrive." Because he liked to see plants do well, to see them thrive and grow, it was a matter of pride for him each time his plants grew and needed repotting or took up more space, grew flowers and produced fruit and vegetables. It was all proof of his hard work. This really wasn't much different for him, it was a matter of pride and a lover nature.

"Yes, I did see that lovely demonstration of power...if you'd call using a gun an act of power. But yes, I don't care for him and would rather not join the other side if for no other reason than not being one of his knights." That and the past incident where he'd nearly died thanks to the prince, not that they'd have cared, but the petite blond didn't care one bit for the prince. Though right now his power might not be a bad idea to have around...what an annoying idea really.

"Yes, that might be a good idea, and if your plants start dying I'll just have to smack you with my spear a few times while telling you what you've done wrong and what you need to do. A fine way to learn a lesson I think." Something of a smile, but not a normal one, settled on his features as he watched the other work. Magic was an odd thing and he could only hopeit would produce something for them.

"You will keep me up to date on what your side has learned of this mess? Right now we can't afford to nto work together, it'll ruin all of us." Which meant he hoped order would accept whatever means the Negaverse had when it came to dealing with this issue, as he was certain they wouldn't like it, he just hoped they'd accept it and let it go. Sometimes extreme action was needed to solve world ending problems...

"Tell me, what did make you become a knight? I didn't interact enough with you to see any signs and I heard nothing about it from others. I'm rather curious."
