It was harder to power-up into Halle, which in turn, made Halle more than ever determined to power-up and patrol each and every night since the first huge electrical storm. Thankfully a section of the database was already up and people were posting intel immediately after. So he knew it wasn't just him and wasn't just knights this time. Of course, Solaris's photos and description that implied they might end up fighting some kind of world-eating space serpent...He could only hope it was a metaphor. But either way, the strangeness both on earth and on other worlds was very real, and he couldn't help but worry about some of the new knights who hadn't experienced the Code's resonance issues last year might be a little lost. Especially if they weren't familiar with using their signet to access the database. So while Jason didn't accost Kinsey at school, Halle sure as heck did position himself to to stop Santa Maria Novella on his way home. "Hey," he called out when he saw the Ganymede signature black and reds come into view. "Have you been up to your wonder recently?"

Of course Jason had to hunt him down, he'd been doing his best to avoid the other, he wasn't interested in interacting with other people. He didn't like people, though he felt he did a good job at hiding his dislike for his fellow man, and thus avoided them as besgt he could. He prefered working on various projects and visiting the watch shop so he could learn more, he did enjoy learning and working with his hands. He was even asking for Russian lessons, it would make communications easier, it might even help in college if he had to take a language class and Russian was offered. He severly doubted any college around here would offer classes in Norwegian, plus someone might say him taking a beginners class in it was cheating, it would be impossible to hide that he spoke it like a native. Even though his mother was gone, and his grandparents deceased as well, he still spokeit in private and watched videos online in Norwegian. He practiced as much as he could, he wasn't giving up his culture and a part of his mother and her family.
He'd been thinking over things, planning on getting dinner for himself, he just wasn't sure what he wanted. He was feeling like seafood of some kind, but what speficially he didn't know, but he'd powered up intending to use that as a means of getting home faster. He had food at home, no one there liked to touch the seafood he bought, he just needed to figureo ut how to use it. The jump at heating his name, and someone turning up suddenly, was surpressed as much as possible. His mouth however was not so easy to keep in check. "Faen! Hvor kom du fra!"
Taking a breath, stilling his racing heart, he turned his pale eyes onto the other. Novella wasn't a page anymore, he'd gotten a bit of an upgrade, but the other was still stronger and he should have sensed him. But thoughts of a fish dinner was plaguing his mind, it had been plaguing him while in classes as well.
"Yes, why?" He questioned, not mentioning he'd been up to Pluto recently as well.

The fact that Santa Maria was speaking a completely different language didn't occur to Halle, who thought he had startled the other to the point of exclaiming in gibberish. Which he was used to, his mom reacted like that to him all the time. With a grin, Halle just watched and finally took in the change of uniform. "Congrats on becoming a squire," he began, "that was really fast." A small, traitorous part of him felt a pang. Must be nice to not be in all pastels... "There's been issues on homeworlds and wonders since the big electrical storm. Causing storms going on in space as well, along with issues powering up for some." The squire in front of him seemed more bother by Halle than anything weird going on in space. "Do you know how to access the database?"

"Database?" He questioned after a moment. Ignoring the congradulations, because he didn't much like the attention, it was just a rank and he didn't really feel like it was an important thing. "I have noticed the weather, it's impossible to avoid." That first storm he'd enjoyed watching out his bedroom window. Even though his whole family was home, no one wanting to leave the house after dinner that night, he'd curled up on his bed and stared out the window at the storm. He'd even put on a rain asmr video, youtube was great for those sorts of things, and turned on a movie later at some point in the evening. He'd made his night an enjoyable one, depspite his family all being home and being loud, he'd gone to bed when the light pole down the block was hit and they'd lost power.
The power had come back by midday the following day, he'd been glad for that, he hadn't been able to avoid hearing his step sisters bitching about it all day once he'd gotten home from school. The complaints from them about their teachers being upset with their lack of completed homework, because whoever did their homework as soon as they got home from school? Their teachers had just been picking on them, or so they complained, and of course their mother had agreed with them and assured them she'd call tomorrow about it.
No, he knew about the storms as it was impossible not to in his home. "You know why the storms?" He questioned, just incase the other did know, it would be nice tgo know why the strange and dangerous weather they'd had to suffer.

Bringing up his signet ring, Halle summoned what appeared like a large, holographic book. "If you haven't gotten your ring yet, you can find it on your wonder." Looking down, he began to turn the pages to the database section currently hosting submissions regarding the storms. "If you already have it, find a mauvian, those talking cats? And they'll upgrade it for you. It'll give you a lot of information about other knights, senshi, and the Negaverse. And of course..." He held up a page and then, after a moment, hit it so that the info was projected onto a nearby wall. "...about things like this." It showed the entries of several other knights and senshi, describing issues with their wonder. There was also an entry from Solaris, the winged woman from the failed kidnapping. Her entry included pictures, telling a story that implied something dire might had escaped and was causing the storms.

"No ring." And a talking cat could help him, did he really want to go and find one? He didn'tg much care for the idea of a talking cat, even if they might be useful, he wasn't planning on getting involved in knight things beyond his wonder. His wonder was all he cared about, and stocking it and cleaning it and making it a place for him to work on things, he didn't care about the fighting and all. He'd had his fair share of it, or so he thought, and he was done with all of that. He'd like to avoid being abused in at least one aspect of his life - thank you very much.
Watching the datapad in the others hand he didn't say anything, tried to look unimpressed, but his cool blue eyes were watching the projected images. Reading over thigns and looking over pictures. It was all interesting and powering up wasn't the easiest of things for him, as opposed to how it had been, but he wasn't worried about that. The idea of something dire though...maybe that bothered him a bit, made him a little nervous, but he'd be fine right? He was keeping out of all this, so he wouldn't be bothered by whatever was going on.
All those others leaving comments...they were more involved in things than he was, they got involved in the fighting, he was different. "I'm not planning to become involved in these things. All I care about is space, is my wonder."

"Find you ring." Halle responded, more firmly than he usually was with this knight. It wasn't the best way to handle someone who had the habit of being a stubborn contrarian, but the ring was too important. "You'll find it on your wonder eventually anyway. It's how you can call for help." Okay yeah, he almost forgot how little Santa Maria cared for getting help. "And find out why something may be going wrong on your wonder." Taking in the other's expression, Halle sighed and went on, "Last year a bunch of us got locked out of our wonders, couldn't travel to them all." Actually, Halle had gotten trapped on his wonder, but he had a feeling that wouldn't concern this guy in the least. "If the same happens again, won't you want to know what's going on and how to fix it?"

Novella would have ignored the others words, brushed them off, he didn't need a ring. It would allow him to call for help...why would he need help? Never mind the one who decided to fight him when he'd been attempting to leave for space. Also, never mind that lieutenant wit h the fountain pen as well. He didn't need help, he was fine on his own.
It was the mention of his wonder, of danger facing it and even being kept from it, which had him nodding along to the others words. They already seemed to have caught on to his lack of care for everything but his wonder, not that he was that hard to figure really, at least when it came to his wonder and this whole knight thing he didn't mind broadcasting his opinions...even if he didn't use words to do so. He figured actions, or the lack of actions, spoke far louder.
"Fine, I'll find it. Is there anything else I should be concerned with? I can always go up there now if there is something pressing."

"Bring me with you," Halle replied while nodding. "The storms out there can be pretty dangerous, some people have been hit already. Plus...I guess the Code warned about it potentially damaging our wonders," the last he said slowly, his eyes scanning over newer database entries before he sighed and shut the book, letting it disappear. He got closer to the squire, holding out his hand in order to tag along. "Have you noticed any life coming back to your wonder since you ranked up? Mine started to get things like flowery insects and crabs after awhile. I'll take you up there sometime."

"Bring you with me...." He wanted to laugh at the idea of that, why would he bring anyone with him? The Captain had been a fluke, someone he felt some sort of kinship with. They claimed abuse and he knew what that was like...so he'd offered what little help he could provide. Luciana he'd take but she was his boss, sort of, she was a mentor who was helping him greatly. There was a difference. "The storms do not bother me, my wonder is an enclosed store." He'd be safe in there, he was certain of it, never mind if the place got hit and caught fire. He could escape fast enough, he was certain of it. It is was struck, with or without him around, it didn't even matter because a fire would destroy it...and there was nothing he could do and no one to help..not in space.
"No, mine is a stgore. What life could return - bugs?" Bugs that would destroy more thigns he was certain, as if it wasn't enough with all the moth eaten fabrics that stunk. Mice maybe? That would be just as bad, if not worse, he was fine without living creatures turning up at his wonder. It wasn't like his wonder was some out doors waterfall or other nature made wonder. It was a shop...and they didn't have wildlife or plants.
Staring down at the others hand he let his gaze than move up to the others face. "You are persistent aren't you, why?" Why him, why persist and why try and make...friends or whatever. It was irksome.

"Are...are you sure it's only a store? There's nothing around it?" Looking over at Santa Maria, Halle had the distinct feeling the other had a dozen reasons and justifications at the ready, and he found himself grinning. Maybe it was just the interior of a store, and there was no reason to leave it, no reason to explore. In some ways. Kinsey was one of the least curious people Halle had ever met. When met with magic, with space and other worlds, there was such dismissiveness that only made Halle more curious in turn. There were people he knew who were on the autism spectrum, who would sometimes fixate on what they called a "special interest" to the exclusion of all else. So maybe it was something like that. But then again, maybe being curious was something that made the other boy...vulnerable? On some level. Maybe he'd been punished for curiosity and open interest before. "I'm a big brother," Halle explained, maybe a little tired, maybe a little proud too. "I'm used to looking after stubborn kids who won't appreciate it."

"What would be around a store aside from other stores? From a street of some sort?" He questioned, pale eys focusing on the other as he questioned them in return. It only made sense that there be stores on either side of this one, or other buildings, that a street of some sort be out front. It wasn't like a store just stood in the middle of a field or some garden would be thriving all around a...hat store, he did prefer the term millinery to hat shop.
Well, that answer did make some sense, it seemed like what he imagined an older sibling doing. At least it seemed like the thing one who cared for a younger sibling would do, he didn't know about such a thing personally. Did he answer back? And which answer did he go with? He didn't even think much about it before he answered, he went with what felt eh most true and honest answer. "I'm an only child." Because he was as far as he was concerned, even his half sister hater him...and the three step siblings he had...well...he wished he didn't have to be anywhere near them. He didn't get to be big brother to anyone nor was he a younger sibling to anyone...he just drifted about in the same home as them, while they got to be a family together. He had been hopeful, for a brief time, that his half sister might be different and might for some reason want to connect to him. She hadn't. She'd never even tried...there was no betrayal or turning on him. She'd joined right in with the others. He'd tried to be friend her, tried to get close to her whenever he could, it had all failed though.
"That would explain why you persist as you do. I assume you won't let me gon on my own, you'll just cling before I can leave." As if he knew already what would happen...so he gave and offered his hand to the other instead. There was no point in fighting, he knew better, he didn't have it in him to fight really.

With a quiet laugh, Halle took the offered hand and replied, "I guess you're learning a lot today, huh?" About wonders, about strength, and all about needlessly nosy new friends.
