 Fiora glanced down at her hooves and sighed. The snow was slowly melting, and the grass was starting to feel slightly damp. Every year it's the same... she pondered, as she glanced up toward the sun. Every year I hope it wouldn't matter to me, but every year it somehow does. This is the time of year when the Soquili, big and small, all around celebrate love. Fiora had always wanted to celebrate along with everyone else. To have someone special. To have someone who sees the world in your eyes. To have someone who cares for you just as much as you care for them. To bask in the joy of having someone to call your special somebody. Hopefully... for the rest of each other's lives. But Fiora never felt anything like that before. Do I envy those that do? No, no, no... I just always hoped that one day I will feel such a feeling in my life. Fiora closed her eyes and slowly took a deep breath. She adored this brisk weather. It was her favorite kind. Even if I have no one to love... No one to love and to hold... At least I have this. I can breathe this chill air into my lungs... And I can enjoy being alive. It is terrific. I wouldn't give it up for love... I wouldn't give it up for anyone... I wouldn't give it up for the world. I should be grateful. I should be eternally grateful. I should just be happy that I have this... this little success... this one high-point in the season..... As she was silently mulling, she suddenly heard the melting snow was crunch, crunch, crunching under someone's feet, and the sounds were getting louder and louder. Someone was approaching her! I wonder who it could be? Fiora couldn't help but to notice the playful nature of the crunching of the snow... Who is that? This most certainly is not a threat... And the being sounds... rather... small? Rather... This sounds like... Could it be the pony I have in mind? My good friend? Fiora looked toward the direction of the sounds with curiosity. Jingles the Balloon Pony walked aimlessly in the melting snow. She was always a fan of going where life takes her, and she didn't have a particular destination in mind. How will she go back home, you ask? Well, she will just retrace her hoof prints in the snow. I mean, it's no longer actively snowing, after all. Her hoof prints will remain intact... largely. Okay, maybe she didn't think that hard about her trip, but she always finds her way home! xd Then suddenly, she felt a presence up ahead. She glanced up, and she saw Fiora staring blankly in her direction. Jingles' eyes widened, and she smiled from ear to ear in excitement, and shouted at her. "FIORA!! It's so wonderful to see you, my good friend. Did you notice? The snow is starting to melt! I love how it feels under my little hooves." Crunch, crunch, crunch. Crunch, crunch, crunch. Jingles was having fun. Every step Jingles took, she felt and heard the snow crunching under her hooves. She enjoyed how every step she took, she felt powerful. Despite being a little pony, she would leave impressions in the snow behind her! Winter is her favorite season, and she adores the snow. Earlier in the season, she was building igloos, snow ponies in the snow, and simply stomping around in the snow, enjoying the chill air and the crunching of the snow under her hooves... And now the season is coming to an end. Though she welcomes the warmer weather, she is still a bit sad that her favorite season is leaving her until the end of the year. Word count: 271

Fiora's mouth opened slightly in surprise. She honestly didn't expect anyone in this neck of the woods, this early in the morning. "Oh, hello! It's so nice to see you again, Jingles the Balloon Pony!" Fiora breathed a sigh of relief that the approaching party was the one she had suspected. Fiora trotted toward her a bit in her excitement. She was feeling rather distant from her social relationships, lately, so this was a pleasant surprise. And she welcomed it with open arms. Especially considering the present season... Though she certainly adored the snow and the general winter season with the chill weather, she did not feel too warmly about the romantic time of the month. It was nice to have company who she knew was single, and from the looks of it, enjoyed the winter season and snow just as much as she did, if not more! With a gentle smile, Fiora welcomed Jingles, and Jingles quickly approached Fiora, with the snow crunch, crunch, crunching under her little hooves. Word count: 170

"Hello, hello! I haven't seen you in a while, Fiora. Have you been playing in the snow? I was just wandering, the way I always do, and kind of... uh, playing around... I mean, I was just stomping around like a t-rex, he he he. You know me. xp I also noticed that the snow was melting under my feet. What have you been up to? Why are you here all alone this deep in the woods?" Are you waiting for someone? Are you celebrating like everyone else? Or are you lost or something? You can just retrace your hoof prints, you know. Jingles glanced up at her friend as they walked together toward the distant tree line. Jingles knew she just fired a lot of questions at Fiora, but Jingles is rather a chatty pony, and she knew she had such a reputation amongst friends and strangers alike. Fiora knows her well too, so Fiora should expect this, Jingles thought. Jingles was all smiles as she walked along with her friend. The birds were chirping as they were just waking up. Jingles was feeling rather peaceful and happy. Word count: 188

Fiora knew how Jingles was a chatterbox, but even she was surprised by her many questions all at once. "Woah, Jingles! Well, no, I'm not celebrating like everyone else.. But it's okay!! I'm enjoying the chill weather and this wonderful snow, just like yourself. And the snow is melting, Jingles! We probably wouldn't be able to retrace our steps all the way, especially since it's warming up now and we've traveled quite a ways away from camp.... But not to worry. I have an excellent sense of direction and can easily get us home from here." Fiora smiled as she glanced over at her buddy. I guess it's kind of nice to be with someone like this... I had just come out here to reflect, but I mean, Jingles is good company. Word count: 132

Jingles exclaimed, "oh, you're right! But yeah, I'll just follow you, my friend. I'm so glad that I ran into you! I could have been lost out here for days, he he he!" Jingles exaggerated for comedic effect. She could tell that Fiora was probably feeling down in the dumps... maybe because she has no one to celebrate the romantic season with. So she took it upon herself to do her best to cheer her up. "I don't have anyone, either, Fiora. And look at me!" Jingles pranced around happily. "I don't need anyone to complete me. I'm complete on my own!" By the time they had reached the tree line, Jingles had noticed that they had been walking quite a bit, and they were nearly back home. Their home could be seen in the distance. "Looks like we're practically back, huh?" Word count: 142

"Wow, you're right, Jingles. And thank you, for your company. I know we didn't intend to run into each other in the woods, but I'm grateful we did, because you certainly lifted my spirits," Jingles said as the two friends walked home together. Word count: 43
