Nectaris had picked out what she thought was a nice, official looking place to hold these interviews. They were near the courthouse district, so that meant the roman-looking statue in the middle of the flowerbeds here was probably supposed to be Lady Justice or something. She was in one of the parks towards the center of town, which meant that she might have to be careful in case any unexpected company showed up. Hopefully that'd make it easy for anyone on Order side to find her, though.

She looked through the clearance Valentine's Day notebook that she'd been taking her meeting notes in, gasping as she saw who had agreed to come meet with her next. Solaris!

No, she didn't know a lot about the senshi, but she knew that she had wings. That alone was awesome. Could she fly? Nectaris already had so many questions, and that wasn't even including the ideas that she'd mentioned during the big meeting about maybe having places to meet on Earth.

There was a Mauvian, too. Realta. Nectaris wrote her name down in pretty purple ink as she waited for the others to arrive.

Genuinely, she couldn't recall the last time she'd done an interview. Solaris had given it real consideration, only able to recall uh... less interviews and more closer to interrogations...

Yeah this would be a much more preferable situation, she was willing to bet. Bonus? A Moon Knight was doing this, and her general intrigue on knights had her all the more enthused for the talk. So as Solaris approached the appointed meeting spot, she was all light steps and smiles, curious to see the outcomes from these meetings.

Offering information to help Order at large work together more effectively was the overall name of the game, in her understanding.

Spotting the young woman in pink, Solaris lifted a partially gloved hand and grinned, eyes scanning the park and the interesting statue. "Nice place you've picked," she chirped. Even if the location was more central, they had the addition of a Mauvian with them to help with aura suppression if need be. Helped ease her nerves, at least.

The Mauvian in question, Realta, trotted alongside Solaris at an easy gate. Her long, black and lilac striped tail was high and alert, ears forward and attentive. This was exciting! Having someone reach out to people to gather specific information to help begin to fill up more of the database was wonderful, and the fact people were already starting to step up on projects so soon after the meeting was...

It was refreshing.

She had a measure of hope that was... surprisingly new, but so, so welcomed given everything. Any way she could support these endeavors, not to mention add her own bits and pieces to the table, she'd do it without question. At least now she could also do it with hands... the ability to take on a human form, or even a civilian guise for a short time, was alarmingly useful in times like this....

Nearing the Moon Knight, Realta smiled a purely feline grin, ears twitching. "Thank you for inviting us to this, I'm rather looking forward to seeing these published."

As the other two got closer, there was really only so long that Nectaris could hold back her immediate thought. "Hi," she said. "Yeah, I was hoping that this place would be easy to find? But also hi," she repeated. "You have wings?"

This was so interesting that she couldn't just sit there like an official interviewer. She bounced to her feet, taking half a step forwards. "Sorry, I know you probably get that a lot, but, like, it's so cool. Can you, like, move them and stuff? Oooh, can you fly?"

Even if they didn't quite look like that, it was still awesome. How come the people from the other worlds got cool stuff like that? Earth had managed to survive for, like, centuries longer than everywhere else. Its people should get something fun like that, she thought. Like, as a treat.

"But, yeah, I'm gonna work really hard on getting all this stuff published to the database. Let's see. I should probably get to the basics before I get to the space stuff, huh? Which, like, I already know your names."

She returned to her notebook. "What are you the senshi of, Solaris?"

Solaris' smile only grew, laughing outright at the questions--a cheery sound, her mirth genuine. Once she was closer to Nectaris, she turned around so the other could see her back--her uniform was very much backless up at the top of her torso, allowing her two sets of wings to sit unhindered. Both sets unfolded from their relaxed position, stretching out and flapping a few times before resettling against her back.

"Full mobility. I can't fly, but I can glide--well, at least on my homeworld," she corrected, turning back around to the Knight. "Solarians all had wings, and far as I can tell, we're lighter than humans on average. So that, plus our planet's gravity is less than Earth's, and we've got wicked strong winds on the regular--we could glide on the currents."

Speaking in the past tense for her people was... unfortunately a common thing for her, and something she did without flinching now. It was the reality of her situation.

She took a seat, aware she'd in a way jumped the proper order of answering the other's questions but... ah well.

"Sphere is Catalysts. Something that triggers events or change around it while remaining unchanged or used up--roughly speaking, anyway, I think that's how you'd explain it in English?"

The Savannah's ears twitched as the senshi looked her way, and gave a small feline shrug. She understood the expectant look, and at least could obliged to be a living dictionary in this moment, though she wasn't entirely sure it was necessary. "In chemical reactions, a catalyst speeds up a chemical reaction without being used up in the process, or alternatively helps to make a process more efficient by reducing the required energy to activate it. Socially, a catalyst is a person or thing that causes change or action."

Her smile to Nectaris was warm. "I'm unsure if you want to include the full definitions in the entries, so apologies if that was excessive."

She could glide! That sounded awesome. Nectaris liked to pretend that she was flying sometimes, when she jumped from high buildings with her eyes squeezed shut. Even having little wings like that would make the experience cooler, she thought.

"Is your homeworld like, safe?" she asked. "I know a lot of other senshi who have come to Earth, it's cause their worlds are having, like, Chaos problems. I'm not even really asking for the interview, more like," Her moon staff had been leaning on the bench next to her, and she reached over and gave it a little pat. "If you need me to help you smash it, I can help you smash it, 'cause you deserve to have a fun place to fly and stuff."

Catalyst was an interesting sphere. It made her think about discussions she had with Diryas and Zebulon about chemistry, kneeling on their living room floor with diagrams and piles of notes and student's homework around them. Solaris didn't exactly look science-y, but Realta probably had a point.

There were things in society that you could change that were kind of like a chemical reaction.

"Yeah, I know about catalysts," she said. "That's interesting. Like, in a cool way. So, how does that translate to your magic?"

The question on it's uh... condition wasn't totally surprising. There'd been enough alien senshi who've asked for help freeing their Chaos-infected worlds, from her understanding, that the info getting around was good. But to see the Knight pat her weapon, and make such an offer... Solaris sat with her lips parted in silence for a moment, processing that. The way she said it, a fun place to fly and stuff, was... such a sweet notion, in and of itself. She wasn't sure how to properly respond to it, in a way. Her mind was usually focused on how to save her world from Chaos to avenge her people, even if she'd forever be the last Solarian left in this universe. Even if she couldn't bring her people back, she could take out the Chaos that helped drive them to their extinction.

The notion of just being able to glide on the winds again, just have that old freedom...

Solaris cleared her throat as she glanced away, blinking her eyes rapidly to keep back the sudden rise of burning that threatened to spill over into tears if she wasn't careful. "I--ah-hem... I... appreciate that. A lot." Swallowing and taking a breath to center herself, she looked back to Nectaris with a small, but... grateful smile. "I'm still trying to look into stuff on it, but I'll let you know once I've figured out what it is."

She ignored the quiet look from Realta, and focused instead on the next question concerning her magic. "Explosions, simply put. I snap my fingers, and a little spark forms at the tip of my index that I can point in any direction. Spark is the catalyst to form a ball of condensed energy around it, and it shoots off in the direction I point. Explosion results in rapid high heat and pressure, so can cause some blunt force damage to folks, and burning."

Oh no. Had she said the wrong thing? She could tell the way that Solaris went really quiet, and then almost started to look like she was trying not to cry. Nectaris had been trying to be kind and helpful and stuff. She had, honest! It was just really hard sometimes not to cross any lines when you were talking about planets and stuff where literally everyone was dead.

Luckily, Solaris seemed to manage not to get too sad, and Nikki smiled back at her. "Yeah, of course!" she said. "Just let me know what you figure out."

Then she was talking about her magic. "Wait, explosions?" asked Nectaris, eyes going wide. Like, when Solaris had brought up catalysts, Nectaris had started thinking about chemistry, and that was the most fun part of chemistry. But she hadn't actually been expecting the magic to be that awesome.

"Okay, you probably win best magic award, and I've been doing a bunch of these chats," she said.

Noting it, she moved onto her next question.

"So, what do you think of what's going on on Earth?" she asked.

The senshi laughed outright, rubbing at the side of her neck in a brief moment of embarrassment. "I can show you if you ever want. It's nothing extensive, and it's... actually horrible at close range or around allies if I'm not careful," she added with a wince, taking into consideration now how many times she'd been blasted by her own magic at close range against a particular fiery pest...

Nectaris' next question though was a good one, even if it required Solaris to pause and think a moment to organize her thoughts. "I'm upset by it. And confused by it." She spoke slowly, her mind whirling to condense and translate concepts even as the words solidified on her tongue.

"I'm glad Destiny City is still standing, and that Earth hasn't been entirely infected by Chaos... but I'm also confused how that hasn't happened yet. Especially with what'd happened with so many other worlds. Why hasn't Chaos disrupted weather more here, or cut the planet off from others? Not that I want Earthlings to deal with what others have," she quickly amended, not wanting her confusion to be mistaken for anything else. "Just..."

I'm jealous. I'm angry. Why weren't my people spared, too? Were they not worthy enough to some higher power?

She wouldn't let those words out. A millennia of rage and pain was not the fault of Earth's people, nor was it a weight they needed added to what they already carried.

"I just want to do all I can to make sure people on Earth don't ever deal with that. I'm grateful there're places where life's been able to hang on and flourish."

Clearing her throat somewhat, she blundered onward. "The Negaverse is especially strange to me, though. I never encountered Chaos-infected senshi and knights till I came to Earth."

"Of course I wanna see!" said Nectaris. There was no hesitation there. Here eyes were bright. Explosions? Yeah, there was almost nothing in the world that was cooler than that. And the thought of it being kinda dangerous didn't scare her off. She'd been there before.

She tried to be thoughtful as Solaris explained her thoughts on Earth and Chaos, though. Solaris smiled almost as much as Nectaris did, and that made it easier to remember that she'd been there watching when her world had slowly died.

It was hard to know what to say to that.

Nectaris knew that she hadn't survived whatever had gone through the universe before. She'd lived on Encke, and now she was here, reborn. But it didn't feel personal to her, the way that it would to someone else.

"I guess the Chaos here is manifesting differently?" she said, after a few long moments. "And I'm sorry if it's weird to see that things aren't, like, as bad here as some of the other places?" She considered for a second, and then decided to add, "I died before if it makes you feel better?"

It probably wouldn't.

"But you're gonna, like, fight back against the Negaverse and stuff? That's what we're trying to do, I guess."

Solaris eyed the area they were sitting in--no one immediately in their vicinity, she could fire it off into the air or something..? Glancing at the Mauvian, though, she thought better of it, and could only offer Nectaris a somewhat apologetic smile. "Might have to do it somewhere less visible, but can definitely show it to you. I'm also pretty curious about Moon Knights, if you'd be up for some info swapping?" She didn't know much about knights in general, only really learning more now that she was on Earth, but Solaris for the life of her couldn't recall ever hearing about Moon Knights before now....

The other woman's sympathy towards the reality of Solaris'--and many other worlds--history was appreciated, and she was beginning to shake her head, to say she didn't need to apologize for anything... when quite the line popped out, and the brunette just stared at her a moment. "You..? Oh. The rebirths, right?" Those were what was supposed to happen to starseeds, but her brows furrowed as her mind ticked. "I know some others have memories of uh... a previous life. Do you... remember any of that?" There was a beat, and the color drained from Solaris' face. "You don't remember that previous self's death, do you?"

Somethings, she was sure, were best left buried in the sands of time. The mind didn't need to be burden with such traumas--but bits and pieces she'd heard from others made her wonder how much some did recall...

At least the question about the Negaverse got a hasty nod, even if she was still unsettled by the idea of Earthlings having such memories. That seemed... cruel. "As much as I can, yes. The White Moon's level of disconnect from one another is baffling in some ways, but also considering how rather... strong personalities can be, beliefs, so on, I guess it's not totally surprising? But I've also never fought wars alongside other senshi or knights--just soldiers and people on my world. I'm guessing a lot of others are, or were, similar. There just needs to be more of a unity on some level to help deal with the Negaverse, or any other threat for that matter. If people just run around on their own, there's valuable information that can easily be missed, or kept by individuals unable or unwilling to share with others who could equally benefit from it. Never mind how effective the Negaverse can clearly be as a unit. Force doesn't always beat force, and an individual can make a huge difference in a battle, but to win a war single-handedly?" She shook her head with a snort.

"I'd be more afraid of a single person holding that sort of power alone. Far prefer just figuring out common ground and goals with others, and work to achieve those."

"Yeah, that's fair," said Nectaris, only looking a little let down that she wasn't immediately gonna get to see a fireball in action. They were in a pretty nice area, though, with the statue and the garden bed and everything. They didn't wanna mess anything up, and make the rumors worse about, like, Order and property damage.

"What do you wanna know about Moon Knights?" she asked. She had answers, probably. "We're Knights. From the Moon." A moment passed. "Oh, and we're, like, new. We weren't a thing in, like, previous generations, so. We don't have fancy starseeds or anything, where we were senshi or Moon Knights or whatever in our past lives."

Which, she was probably gonna have to elaborate on since she'd mentioned the whole dying thing.

"But I've had a couple memories of who I did used to be. It took me a while to put the pieces together, but, I found some potions, and I saw some stuff when I went to Encke. Not anything bad," she added quickly, "Just enough to figure out that I was his sister."

A beat passed. "But, yeah, that person obviously doesn't exist anymore."

She nodded as Solaris talked about Order, taking some notes. "I feel like saying Order is a disorganized mess might be Negaverse propaganda or something," she said. "Like, we can do stuff together pretty good when we have to. Unless something happened recently?" People at the meeting had seemed a little on edge. "But the more we can like, talk and strategize ahead of time is good. I've probably been off in my own little world too much for a while. I'm trying to help now."

Realta had to keep herself from chuckling when she saw the slight deflate for the Knight to hear the explosives might have to wait a moment--a rather wise choice on the senshi's part, and Realta was pleased she didn't need to send her a warning look to even inspire that. "We should be able to step away after this meeting perhaps for you to see? At least somewhere more secluded." A beat passed, and one of her ears twitched in consideration before adding, "Alternatively, if you both go off-world, there's all the less dangers involved." She glanced between the senshi and knight curiously--and no, not at all hopeful on her own part. Nonsense... she wasn't curious to see another wonder or homeworld......

Nectaris' limited explanation of Moon Knights at least got a smile from the Mauvian. "I don't suppose you know why Moon Knights are a thing now, do you? I wasn't aware knights could be new in this life..." It was as wonderous a thought as it was confusing--of course, Realta didn't know all the ins and outs of how knights worked, and it was something she sorely needed to patch up her information gaps on. Her tail twitched. There was that Code piece back up on the Moon... would it humor a Mauvian interrogation? Likely not. She'd do better to just speak with more knights, accompanying them to their wonders as able, and so on.

A chiming reached her through the magical pull, and Realta's ears perked up just before a small bluetooth earbud materialized in one. A call--there was really only one person she'd prioritize on that, and offered a quick, apologetic smile as she stood and hopped off the bench to take it. "Ah... pardon me a moment, I'll be right back."

Solaris had only nodded somewhat along with Realta's question on how the Moon Knights were a thing now. That was possible? How did that work? Could anyone sign up for that or like--

Off topic. She pulled her thoughts back on track and just in time. Solaris sat up straighter, goosebumps forming along her legs and down her back at the mention of who Nectaris remembered being. "His... his sister? Encke's? King-- ah...." She broke off, not wanting to say the other name currently, wobbling her hand vaguely in a silent that one? gesture, or what she meant to be such. Blue eyes scanned her face intently, searching for an old familiarity. It was... strange, to try and look for different features beyond a human's own. "I... considered him a friend." Her brows furrowed. Had she known his sister..? Something about that rang a bell, but she couldn't dredge up anything from the darkness of time. She'd need to look back into some of her own records--she must have written down something, right? One of the various volumes she filled with random thoughts and memories after a few centuries, when she began to realize how much she had been losing of her recollections after a while.

It was a difficulty to redirect herself again, but hearing that person obviously doesn't exist anymore drove her back to the present with a visible, physical flinch. "...yeah. That's the problem I keep running into."

The Knight's thoughts on Order's disorganization being propaganda didn't fully register with her for a moment, but when asked if something had happened, Solaris hummed an affirmative. By that point, though, Realta had left the area, and though she was aware the feline's ears were good... she kept her voice low, not wanting to concern the cat quite yet about everything. "Off the record, so you know what happened. Couple of knights caught a traitor senshi as a civilian, word got around so a few of us showed up to find out what was going on... got ourselves into that. Voted to kill him before he could report back to the others what we all looked like, or any names he might have heard, but the Negaverse showed up in time to not only fully put a stop to that, but overwhelmed us and a few others who came to help." She wasn't trying to sugar coat anything here--it was a shitshow of a situation, and her voice was dry, detached almost, as she gazed back into the middle distance. "He's apparently one of Faustite's. They couldn't have picked a worst target, but my understanding is that's why he was picked...." She gave a heavy, heavy sigh, lifting a hand to run through her bangs.

"I'm not going to pretend I've got some moral code that's shiny and clear. I've had blood on my hands for centuries, even before my world was cut off. That was what was required of me in my role as Guardian of Solaris. But Order needs to improve its communication methods, have actual places around the city we can safely meet and not be bright energy beacons for the Negaverse to swarm in on. We need to have plans already in place before some opportune moments arise, and we're left scrambling to cover our asses after. It'll get people hurt, or worse, otherwise. We got lucky all of us were able to get out of there without being burned alive."

Wait. Nectaris wanted to see and explosion. Realta and Solaris wanted to know more about Moon Knights. There was a pretty obvious solution here, if she thought about it.

"I mean, we could always go to the Moon if you want," she told them. "My Wonder, it's like meadows and butterfly houses, but there's enough room for stuff like that." And if the plants got singed, it wasn't the end of the world. They were growing pretty fast now. "And there's some books there! I dunno how much they say about knight stuff, but they're good for if you wanna know about ancient but science and also if you can read weird languages."

Obviously the Moon was a different world from Solaris, but maybe there was some language overlap, like with Spanish and Italian. You never knew.

But then Realta was taking a call, and she glanced back to Solaris, not expecting the look of recognition she saw on her face. "You knew them? Ignatius?" That was cool. Really cool, honestly. She didn't know how much she'd been involved in his life, if she'd done the diplomacy with other senshi and stuff, but knowing that she could've met Solaris before? It made her smile, to think that maybe they could start being friends again. "I don't remember too much, but. I was around, yeah. I didn't look much like this, though." She waved at her face. "More like. Dark purple skin with stars and stuff." There hadn't been a mirror in the memories.

Although the cheerful moment was cut off by the description of what had happened.

Kidnapping.

It was weird, how a single sentence made her feel like she couldn't breathe. They'd caught someone. They'd decided to kill him, but only after. The rest of what Solaris said, Nectaris heard, but she didn't understand.

She only half remembered what had happened to her. The thirst, the blood, the too-bright auras. Something deeper in her remembered, though. She couldn't breathe right. She had to struggle just to suck in a little air. Her wrists itched. Her wrists itched so bad, and as she pushed her bracelets up to scratch at them, it showed the deep, ugly rope scars from when she'd been held hostage.

She was supposed to say something, wasn't she?

"Sorry, I just-"

But the words cut off. She didn't know how be supportive about this. There were tears in her eyes.

For a moment, her head was too lost to centuries, recalling Enckean faces that were barely even blurry messes of neons and dark colors, trying to place the description of dark purple skin with stars and stuff, trying not to focus on the fact that person wasn't here any more, none of them where here. Even that Yetzirah Page, a name she knew, wasn't remotely the face she'd known once upon a time that last acted as the knight of that place...

Even if they remembered who those people had been, even if they could gain some of their memories... they weren't them. Kyrie knew she'd never see another Solarian in the skies with her even after she cleared the Chaos away, even after she finally ended all that misery. She'd never hear the sound of wings alongside hers amidst the winds and mists, never again know the jeers and challenges of aerial contests for reckless fun, or the swift flight of soldiers in combat. She was the last. The last. Only humans would inherit the cosmos, it seemed, and the concept made bile rise in the back of her throat and----

A small sound drove her back to the present, away from the dark thoughts that kept her teetering on some edge, fists clenched in her lap against lashing out on those who never deserved her rage and sorrow. And yet. She'd done that regardless, hadn't she? It took her a moment to register, staring in confusion at Nectaris as her breathing seemed off, her eyes were red-rimmed and filled with water, and Solaris felt her dismay rise with a swell of self-disgust, when she at last looked down to her wrists, and saw the scars there the Knight was scratching at.

She couldn't be sure. Didn't know the other's history. "Nikki?" She forced her voice to be soft, gentle, and held her hands out to the other, palms up, to show she was unarmed and meant no harm to her. No further harm, anyway. The location of those scars were tell-tale enough for her to suspect, but joined with this sort of reaction (panic? it seemed like it to her) made her hate how she'd brought up what'd happened with Heliodor, hate how she'd spoken so brazenly of being willing to end another's life. It didn't matter if that was the reality of some tactics in war.

Not when it clearly affected someone like this.

"Nikki, can I touch you? I just want to give you a hug, if you're okay with that." Gently, Solaris continued to speak, offering options and choices to the Knight, while trying to coax her back into the present. "If not, would you be okay with me holding your hands? Or just one, if you'd rather."
