It occurred to me that Disney was getting all my love recently, so to redress the balance:

Warners are releasing Animaniacs on July 25th! It will be a boxset of the first 25 episodes, similar to what Disney has been doing with DuckTales / Chip 'n' Dale.

A trailer is available here.

All you Pinky & the Brain fans have not been ignored either. On the same date, Pinky & the Brain volume 1 is also due out, featuring episodes from the spin-off series (and not the ones which were just compilations of episodes previously shown in Animaniacs).

Now all I need is Freakazoid...

EDITED in a vague attempt to see if that makes the URL work... Apparently not. Sorry.

Can I hear a "FROINLAVEN!"? XP

That's just all-out, friggin awesome. I loved Animaniacs back in the day, when Fox could make their own quality Saturday-morning lineup (or any other broadcast channel, for that matter).

Though, now it brings up the question of a Tiny Toons release....Has there been one yet? It'd be a little...odd, I guess, if it didn't get one before Animaniacs, as it had a several-year headstart. Not complaining; just wondering...

But anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to this...

*tries to conjure up from his memory the theme song* "It's time for Animaniacs...and we're zany to the max..."

I think you *do* hear a Freunleven! Along with a "How you? With the going? You were there? But here now! You are! For me to see? How do you do??" biggrin

So far, no TTA news. TVshowsondvd.com only has one news article (3 years old) which had a rumour that it might be out in 2004! I know one or two folk who will be highly unimpressed that that did not come to fruition.

Still, if Animaniacs and P&TB are a success, I can't imagine TTA being that far behind. I just hope they sell well - fans of the world, unite in your purchasing!

TTA is now the only one of the WB crop that I intend to throw a strop about if it's not released. Both Animaniacs and Freakazoid went off the boil and ran out of gags fairly quickly as far as I was concerned - TTA was slightly less frenetic, and got away with things for a bit longer.

Off topic, but Galaxy High is being released, too.

The nostalgia business is booming.

Curses! Animaniacs may be out in the States today, but it looks like UK suppliers of US DVDs are having trouble sourcing copies. My preorder on playusa.com has a release date of August 8th. DVDconcept.com lists 25th July, but says it's on order and will ship when the supplier sends stocks.

*resets countdown clock*

*poke*

Any word yet?

I'm still sulking over the fact thatr Ducktales is screening on Disney CineMagic. I was feling quite pleased with being able to finally get at least some Disney free-to-air until I noticed that. smile

Just got an e-mail an hour ago saying it had shipped, huzzah!

What Disney free-to-air? All I know about is Playhouse Disney on abc1 in the mornings, when I feel like watching The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Sacrilege, I know. Cinemagic is airing DuckTales? A curse upon them!

Just keep telling yourself, volume 2 next November...

The Disney Channel and Playhouse went free to air on the day that CineMagic launched.

Is this on Sky Digital though? I've not stumbled across them on Freeview, although granted I haven't let the box do its scanning thing in ages.

What does the Disney Channel show these days? I remember noting that it went downhill when Toon Disney launched, cos all the series I wanted to watch moved to the new station. I'd also thought that Disney Channel had morphed into CineMagic, fool that I am. CineMagic was cool for reruns of Aladdin. And I got to see the Three Musketeers (Mickey, Goofy and Donald), which was kinda cool smile

EDIT: It occurs to me that I ought to be posting this in the I love Disney thread smile

Not on Freeview yet, unfortunately. Although I'm still just hapy that we finally have Film Four and some decent semi-contemporary stuff.

I'll agree with that.

Many, many ad nauseum repeats of That's So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana, and the occasional episode of Boy Meets World.

Animation-wise, we have - off the top of my head, we have: Aladdin (I think, although that's too early in the morning for me to be sure - something like 6am), Kim Possible, Recess and *retch* The Proud Family.

Oh, how I dislike Kim Possible. Not for its intrinsic value (it's not actually that bad), just for the fact that that and Recess are practically the only darn Disney shows available on terrestrial. And let's face it, they are not shining examples of Disney's animation craft.

Where are all the 80s shows animated mostly by one Tokyo Movie Shinja company, familiar to many as the home of Sonic X?
