tab Persistent. Stubborn. Slightly Annoying. Caring. Affectionate. These were all the ways Violetta would describe the man who had found her and Bonnie the night that zombies and crystal dogs attacked, and her brother seemingly teleported without the actual use of his powers. Ever since then he had been badgering her to spend time with him, she knew that he and Bonnie had become...close, extremely close in fact. For when she ran into them when in history class they were kissing. And then he kissed her even if it was just on her cheek. She still had every intention of leaving the man in the dark, not out of spite or maliciousness, but out of the fact that he didn't need to know. She was enjoying the innocent side of the friendship, the freedom to not have the price name to live up to. With him she was just "Bonnie 2" and she honestly hadn't minded. That was, until she got told that she would be the heir to the throne. Aside from her brother's reaction, she was shocked all on her own. Her father had never seemed to care for her, or her opinions but suddenly he was thinking she was the most worthy? She was extremely confused, but at the same time her mind began running. Word would get out. She would be mentioned to the people.

tab Most important? She was sure Stefano would find out who she truly was. When this had become the most important thing in the scenario she didn't know, but what she did know was that she didn't want him to find out from her father, an announcement, or god forbid her brothers. Particularly Cass because she knew how he avoided attention and Stefano, for all his faults, was a very open person. So she was left with no choice but to give in and agree to meet up with him for drinks, to at least clear up some of the air. She didn't have to mention her status, but this way it wouldn't be a complete surprise.

tab She had dressed in her black dress clothes, including the leather strap she had found herself enjoying to wear along with it. She had on black boots and as she walked towards the bar that he had suggested she smoked a quick cigarette. She had put it out well before she got close, safely putting it away for later disposal. She might come from Shahiti but she didn't want to make more work for others. As she pushed the door open she looked around and didn't see him quite yet. She exhaled coolly out her nose before she stepped up to the bar, ordering a basic whiskey, something she occasionally would be able to have at home. She found herself sitting on a bar stool, her peripherals able to keep an eye out for the man when he arrived. She looked down at her drink, moving it as she watched the ice cubes swirling around in it. She wasn't sure what to expect, or how he'd react but she knew she didn't want to hurt his feelings. She didn't realize when she had come to feel like this, but she knew that he'd slowly worked his way into her inner circle, even if he didn't realize it.

tab Another sigh escaped her lips as she took a drink, the glass hitting the counter with a clink as she leaned her head on her other hand, looking up at the selection of drinks behind the bar just for something to look at. She really hoped he wouldn't be mad at her for withholding her name, but something told her he would at the very least, not be mad about it. Maybe upset, but that would be expected if one found out someone hadn't been entirely honest. " Hm...I hope he's okay with it." she mumbled, the princess began to space out a little, the alcohol softening up her usual defenses already.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'
Shy. Reclusive. Proud. Insightful. Caring. These were the words Stefano used to describe Bonnie with the blue eyes. It was hard when the two Bonnies were together not to call one Bonnie 1 and Bonnie 2, not wanting them to feel like they had any place over the other in his heart but Stefano was sure that if the tides were turned and he was referred to as Stefano 2 it would be a shot to the heart. Given how well he and Bonita Bonnie were getting on it was about time that he should show Blue Eyed Bonnie some affection as well.

Getting her to agree to the matter was a bit of a challenge but that was a part of her charm. Stefano felt the girl liked to keep people at arm's length but seeing her with her brother showed him a part of her he was sure she hadn’t intended for anyone to see. Despite her hard exterior, a gooey center was inside, just like his favorite candies as a child. His plan for tonight was to unwrap her once again and hopefully get her to show her true colors once again. Well, the plan was still in the works, but Stefano was sure that the hardest part (getting her to agree to see him) was already over and it would be easy sailing from here.

Looking in the bathroom mirror, he gave himself one last pep talk before waiting for his date. His outfit was peak, the venue was choice, all that was needed now was the babe to show. Scanning the crowd as he made his way out his babe-o-meter started going off almost immediately at the bar. There she was in all her glory, Miss Bonnie Blue Eyes, dressed in all black to add to her mysterious aura. She was even smoking! Something Stefano never imagined himself partaking in but if she were to invite him it seemed enticing almost. He couldn’t help himself but be drawn to her.

Making his way to her, Stefano couldn’t help but sense a small amount of sadness to her. Thankfully he knew the cure, he would offer her the best night out on the town, well Utopia, to help turn that frown into a smile. He hadn’t seen her smile often but that made it just more of a prize for him to reach for. Her voice was music to his ears as he heard the woman whisper something to herself about someone being okay with something. How mysterious! Stefano couldn’t wait to find out the answer.

" You made it!" His excitement was too much to contain as he bounced into the seat beside her. This was normally where he went for a hug or a smooch but the last time he played that game she was unresponsive, so it was better to just put those moves to the side for now and try his best to give her his undivided attention. " I am still surprised you said yes to our date," His body was already starting to sweat slightly as he struggled about what to talk about. A woman like this needed conversation that made her brain go woo, not something Stefano succeeded in but he would do his best to improve as the night went on.

Looking at her empty glass he waved the bartender over, " Another of whatever she is having. Actually, make it two." He beamed at the bartender and then returned his attention back to the beautiful Bonnie. "So Bonnie, what are we drinking tonight? You are in the driver’s seat." He asked as he made his own guesses looking at the girl’s glass. It was some sort of dark liquor, not something Stefano was accustomed to by any means used to cheap vodka and tequila back but he was nothing if not willing to try something new if it meant unraveling the mystery that was Miss Bonnie Blue Eyes.

tab Violetta had been distracted as her drink of choice was quite strong. She was always able to handle her alcohol, even if it softened her up. She had quite the family that liked to push her buttons and this was a good way to get over it, and quick. she usually drank alone in her room or outside when she smoked but...she had found herself even slightly looking forward to perhaps being able to spend time with someone else while drinking. So as she finished her drink she breathed out a sigh, only for a loud presence beside her catching her attention.

tab " You made it! I am still surprised you said yes to our date."

tab Her blue eyes swung over and she blinked for a moment, before she exhaled out her nose and ever so slightly curled her lips up in a smile. " What can I say...you're convincing." she replied in a short but still warmer tone than she usually carried with people, especially in public. She was surprised when he'd not only ordered a drink for himself but for her as well, and she leaned her head on one hand as her blue eyes looked him over carefully before she closed them and an honest smile finally crossed her face. " That's a dangerous game to play, I don't know how well you can hold your alcohol, but I use it to deal with my...particular family." without being more foregoing about her family and her position now she had to bite her tongue. She looked up as the bartender returned and she took the offered glass, nodding in quiet thanks as he took her old one. " I'm not sure the brand, but I asked for a dark sweetened whiskey." She sat upright and took another sip.

tab Her pale skin was flushed red even in the dim lighting of the bar before she returned her gaze down to her glass for a second. " So, how are you holding up after the trainwreck of a class we had? The professor knows how to keep us on our toes." she hadn't expected him to throw them into whatever the hell that was. She could already feel the alcohol warming her chest and she knew she should probably get it over with, just be honest before things went too far with the alcohol and she admitted to something she shouldn't. Like her status at the moment. She turned on the stool she sat on, her leg accidentally brushing against his but this time she seemed to register it, a slight flush on her face. " So I gotta be honest about something. I've never seen the need to correct it but..." she trailed off, her head tilting slightly as she leaned onto her right elbow on the bar. "...my name actually is Violetta...not that I've minded you calling me otherwise." she knew she should smile, it would make the news easier on the man, she knew he was sensitive to such things. Even she could pick up on that much. But even as she tried to smile, her nerves got the better of her and she flashed a nervous expression instead. Still a difference for the Shahiti princess, but she really didn't want to mess this up. She felt comfortable enough to let her guard down around him which was... needless to say, rare.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'

Stefano couldn’t help but smile as the silent mistress started toying with his heartstrings with her sly smile. A woman like her wouldn’t have looked twice at him when he was back home but now things were different, he was different, built different even. There still wasn’t much he knew about Bonnie outside her name and that her brother also attended Utopia but there wasn’t much hinted as to where they came from, not that would know anything based on her response to such a question. Well, unless Stefano had the opportunity to spar with her people’s men hand-to-hand.

Her bringing up her family was interesting, considering he really only knew about Cass. He assumed that if the two of them were as attractive as they were, their parents must have been hot too. The bartender returned with their drinks and Stefano tried to think of something witty to say in response to the girl’s drink order. " You’re a whiskey girl? I hope the stories I have heard about whiskey girls aren’t true." He grins goofily as he took a sip of the liquor. It tasted different than the alcohol from his land, noticing that Bonnie was even sipping it as opposed to the swig one would normally take back home, Stefano couldn’t determine if this was the way back where she was from or just the way you were supposed to drink whiskey but choose to follow his beautiful companion.

Thinking about the actual question she had asked, surprised to see her so talkative out and about, he tried to think about how she would want him to respond. She had fought alongside him and Bonnie Brown Eyes in class but still had some of the same reservations he had about it. As both Bonnies had beautifully pointed out the war was bad and no good. " I preferred it over dance class but I get that we can’t be fighting every day if we are supposed to be peaceful." He sighed, looking away from the blue-eyed beauty for fear of disappointing her.

Instead of a slap, he felt her leg brush up against his, was she making a move on him? Stefano worried about the number of drinks he had before he had arrived and made a note in his brain to make sure he walked her back to her room at the end of the night. It was hard for him to process what she said at first as Stefano was more heavily focused on how cute her blush and nervous mannerisms were. He knew that she wasn’t as standoffish as she first appeared, it was unfortunately overshadowed by him finally realizing what she had said.

Looking at the girl dumbstruck he spit out the drink he was doing such a great job sipping right onto Beautiful Bonnie’s Bosom. But it wasn’t Bonnie. His brain felt on fire as he thought about what to apologize for first. "V-violetta?? That’s a beautiful name! Does Bonnie 1 know?" Stefano managed to bark out as he started grabbing napkins off the bar counter. The idea that he had been calling one of his loves the wrong name for over a month now left him feeling like a lousy lover. His mother had taught him better and would be disappointed to hear about this in his next letter.

Not thinking, he started patting the napkins against Bonnie’sVioletta’s chest in an attempt to dry off the spit from his prior reaction. It wasn’t until he felt the squishy surface that he processed the intent behind his action, " I’m so sorry!" He pleaded as he raised both of his arms up in the air to show he meant to ill will, " Please forgive me voluptuous Violetta," He looked back up at her eyes immediately realizing his mistake, " I meant Virtuous. Virtuous Violetta." He nodded violently as his hands remained in the arm.

tab Violetta wasn't sure what she was expecting when it came down to meeting him for a drink. She knew she got a little more honest when she had alcohol in her system, especially the strong type that she'd gone for her first drink. She was surprised that he tolerated it well and when he mentioned what he'd heard about whiskey girls she couldn't help the twitch that was a smile on her lips. She looked away and exhaled out her nose softly. " Hmm. What have you heard about whiskey girls?" she was curious as to what the duke had heard, although she gauged it wasn't anything good from the way he worded his sentence. As he answered her question about how he was feeling with the class she hummed in quiet agreement. Her head tilted slightly as she looked him over as he looked away. He had a point, and she certainly knew that she didn't enjoy what war was. Especially the way her father did it. She still dreaded the thought of what he might want her to do in her future reign, or what tactics he might resort to, even after his demise.

tab " You make a good point. However, that would be what training could be for, no? And if we're expected to do what's best for our home kingdoms, we need to be ready for anything." she dreaded the idea of a town in Shahiti being attacked like that. Her people, scared, torn from families...loved ones...she quickly shook her head, ignoring the way the room spun a little after she did so. " No, sorry, this is not the time for such a discussion." she had agreed to go out with him not to discuss what had happened, but to be honest with him. And if she was honest with herself, his constant persistence had began to crack her outer shell. At first after her confession she saw it didn't register but she waited a moment longer and she knew when it had. She closed one eye at his reaction but looked down at her shirt. It was fine, this was a black shirt and she could just have it laundered later. She looked back up to him, her heart racing slightly as he complimented her and asked if Bonnie knew. She exhaled out her nose and nodded, an almost shy smile forming over her lips. " Yeah...I was repeating her name that first time we met, it was of no importance at the time...so we let it go." it never had stopped him from treating her any different, even if her name was different than what he had though it was. She hoped he didn't feel bad, even though she could tell he was nervous now.

tab It took even her a moment to register what he was doing when he reached out. Not until he pressed a little harder did her brain connect the dots and she felt her usually pale skin light up bright red and she opened her mouth just as he pulled his hands back. She looked away from him as she covered her mouth with one hand, his ramblings making even her ears flush. She wasn't expecting such a reaction from herself, never mind Stefano. She took a moment to pull her composure but she knew that it would be harder with the alcohol in her system. " N-no! It's alright...it was a mistake after all..." she glanced back over to him and took a moment longer before she breathed in and then out, the red on her face slowly getting duller. She didn't move her legs from against his and she finally let her hand drop from her mouth. " I'm not used to much physical affection, as in how I was raised, but with you it's...not bad." she knew that the voice in the back of her head was scolding her for showing weakness but she couldn't help it. He was like a giant puppy, and she didn't want to see him giving her those sad eyes.

tab She leaned onto her elbow on the counter as she rested her hand now on her legs. " I'm sorry for not admitting it earlier... I was surprised even when my brother went along with it as well." she was surprised but not as much as she honestly thought. Cass seemed to go along with things and the new shift in power certainly took some of the weight off his shoulders; of which she was glad. " I hope it's not too much of a problem...that I didn't correct you right away." she finally felt her face going back to mostly normal, although there was a constant slight redness to her cheeks as the first whiskey had begun to hit her.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'

It was no wonder why Bonnie would call him an idiot right to his face. Stefano had been calling this babe the wrong name for around a month now and no one corrected him! He knew he wasn’t smart but this had to be some sort of record he created for himself, not that anyone besides himself was keeping score of his misguidances but it was shameful that he could make such a mistake. Only to be followed by a bigger one by touching her breasts. It was a mistake of course but everything about him was a mistake. It just led to one final question; Why was someone like her even humoring him with a conversation?

She quickly brushed the action off, which surprised the duke even more. It appeared Stefano had completely misjudged her. He had expected a slap to the face or a kick to the groin, but instead, he was met with understanding, and it was, well, nice. He moved his arms down, back at his sides, " Thank you for understanding, I assure you I am doing my best to be a gentleman ba-er-miss." The language was getting easier for him to grasp, he was trying his best and most seemed to understand that for the most part but he still worried about accidentally offending someone.

Hearing she wasn’t used to physical affection made Stefano rather sad but unsure how he was supposed to respond. She and her brother seemed rather close even if there was some awkward distance there he figured that was just normal for siblings. His mother and father were rather affectionate growing up but he was an only child. His feet felt like they were floating on air at her last words about her not minding his touch. After kissing her in History Class, he had vowed to himself that he was going to wait for her to reciprocate his actions before proceeding any further and it seemed like she was on board. Did this mean they could take the next steps in their relationship?

" Not bad, huh? I’ll take it." He chuckled at her confession trying to tear apart any tension that was still in the air. Plus it was true. Back at his home town girls avoided him at all costs but ever since he joined the army things had started turning around for him. Had he known that babes like this would be waiting for him he would have joined way sooner. But his mother told him everything happened for a reason, all his painful moments had led him to this one.

Looking more at her face he could tell the liquor was starting to take effect. Another surprise for him to discover she was a lightweight but the red on her face didn’t lie. Was it better if he guaranteed that he was willing to go as slow as she wanted? Finishing his drink he stared intensely into the woman’s eyes, " Ya know, I can make you a promise now that I won’t make any more moves until you tell me to. A good soldier knows how to follow orders." There were no promises for what would happen after she made any moves on him but the idea of waiting for her to confirm she wanted him gave him a sort of comfort.

tab Violetta was unable to help keep the slightly amused smile off her face as he struggled to get the words correct. She had always found that a curious thing about him; she didn't know his background but he seemed to struggle with formalities and things she had been raised on. This didn't bother her in the least bit, but she also thought it was almost cute. She wrinkled her nose for a second, did she just think something was cute? Sure, she was softer than her brother, but she hadn't expected that thought to pop into her mind. She shook her head and relaxed her expression to a reassuring smile. " Don't worry about formalities, when it's just us..." she paused before taking another sip almost for the idea of courage to speak her mind. " When it's just us it can just be Violetta." she didn't feel the need for fancy labels around him, and that made her feel much better.

tab As he took her compliment in stride she shifted her hand so her palm covered her mouth. She felt strange smiling this much, her usual stoic expression wasn't her default right now. She was just grateful that her uncle or brothers didn't see her like this. She knew what it would scream, at least to one of them. Weakness. She was taken by surprise when he finished his drink and looked her in the eyes. Her breath caught slightly at his words before she felt a different type of heat rising to her cheeks. ' Damn it...Vi get yourself together! He's just promising to be good, like he should be.' she cleared her throat to pull herself back and averted her eyes out of embarrassment for the flush on her face. " I appreciate that." she murmured, but her eyes took a softer look on before she glanced back to him. " Which...I did want to say I didn't mind the kiss earlier I just...wasn't expecting it." especially not after she'd seen him kissing Bonnie. Not that she'd admit there was a slight hint of jealousy, but she also knew that she could be honest with the other woman, even if they hadn't talked much separately.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'

Making the girl uneasy wasn’t something Stefano took pride in but he couldn’t help it when her flustered face was just so cute. It was like she was one of those chocolate treats from back home, hard chocolate shell on the outside but all ooey gooey on the inside. It didn’t help that she smelt so good either, Stefano wondered what it would be like to taste her again but he would do his best to remain patient.

As much as he wanted to kiss her here and now, her words and actions proved she wasn’t ready for him to do so. Once he got started he had a hard time stopping, and he didn’t want to pressure her into something she wasn’t comfortable with. So he pulled away from her face and raised one of his hands in an attempt to flag down the bartender to get another drink. It would take more than one drink for him to be taken out even if he didn’t know what exactly it was that they were drinking.

" Well then, the next one should be expected then. I am ready and willing." His face was dead serious as feelings weren’t something to joke about for him. He had no interest in pursuing someone that didn’t know what they wanted. Risking rejection in the past had only led to more heartbreak and Stefano wasn’t sure if he was willing to get his heart broken again. He had already been the butt of the joke for so many years and Bonnie was just starting to teach him that no longer had to be the case if he didn’t want it to be.

The bartender made his way over and ask him what he would like to drink next leading Stefano to shoot the girl a wink before speaking, " Well Vio-Let-a, what will it be? Another whiskey or what’ll be?"

tab Violetta kept finding herself surprised by the man. First he was so kind to her and then forgave her, no, even further than that; he felt bad for not knowing her name. She took a breath in before she smiled slightly, her blue eyes flicking over to him as he spoke again. She felt her face flush slightly again but this time she looked less uncomfortable and more...apprehensive than anything. She certainly wasn't expecting herself to be melting quite this fast around him. The drinks were either harder than she thought or doing just what she needed them to do. She shifted on her seat slightly, her eyes looking down at the counter. " Good to know..." as she mentally scolded herself for her response, or lack thereof, she didn't notice him waving down the bartender. She had noticed the shadow in front of her, her eyes lifting just in time to see the wink that Stephano shot her way. She felt her chest tighten slightly, her expression shifting to surprise before she exhaled and pursed her lips slightly, thinking before she finally answered him. " How about...you surprise me?" she suggested, he'd tried what she had, it was only courteous that she did the same for him, no?

tab As she leaned her head on her hand, passing over her now empty glass to the outstretched hand of the bartender she allowed her eyes to wander over to Stephano. She was slowly warming up to the idea of him being someone she could trust and honestly be herself around. Even if herself was a little darker than she liked to tell people about. She exhaled out of her nose before she sat back up, not catching quite what he had then ordered for them. She allowed her gaze to slide down to his hands before she decided to do something brave, something she'd never even done with the fiancé she currently had who apparently had no idea who she was. And if he knew? Neither of them had said anything about it, and she certainly didn't recall it. She hesitated for a moment before she gently, almost carefully slid her hand over his, her fingers feeling a little colder than his warm hand but she closed her eyes and a genuinely nervous smile flickered across her face. " You're too good for me, you know that?" If Stephano knew half the things her father.... her kingdom even, had done, he wouldn't want anything to do with her. She was sure of it. Her fingers lightly wrapped around his hand as she opened her eyes again and looked over at him. She really hoped this wouldn't end poorly for her.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'
Stefano was still trying to dissect the fact that everyone knew her name was this all along, and they were just humoring the man’s idiocy, but still, the fact that she was entertaining him was a gift enough. But with that being said, it was hard to tell what kind of drink someone as mysterious as her would want. Part of him was telling him this was some form of test, but Violetta had to know he was terrible at those, so giving him something like that would just end in disaster.

" Dark and Stormy," He spoke to the bartender, attempting to maintain any sort of confidence while just taking a shot in the dark of what she might like. Plus the name reminded him of her. If there was Miss Mystery he would have ordered that as well to compare the two but the bartender quickly disappeared to make their drinks. Thankfully his order wasn’t too much of a disappointment as her silent smile was back to it’s normal place.

It was hard to tell if the smile she frequently wore on her face around him was a good one or not but he was doing his best to remain optimistic. After all, his optimism is what got her to begrudgingly agree to go out with him to begin with. Her next comment surprised him, though. She thought he was too good for her? The idea was laughable. " I think I misheard you, you think what now?" He tried to hide his smirk but it was impossible. The idea of someone as good as her thought of him so highly had to be some joke.

" If you are joking with me, I don’t see the punchline." He shook his head at her, " A fox like you is humoring me right? I used that word right, yes?" It was true. A girl like him wouldn’t have given him the time of day back home. Well, that was before his title. People had told him that his status would make people’s opinions of him change but he didn’t think it would be so fast. It was unfair, almost not knowing if anyone was serious, but he wanted to believe she was joking for her own means.

Someone as beautiful as her had to know it. Her slender body and dazzling eyes alone were sure to leave with her plenty of suitors and given that she wasn’t a soldier like Bonnie she was born to the title. Stefano was sure people were lining up at the opportunity to have the girl’s hand. But right now, he had hers and he wasn't planning on letting it go just yet.

His choice of drink wasn't one she'd had before but it sounded good. She couldn't help but crack a smile after he ordered and she had begun to feel that ball of anxiety in her chest begin to unravel but only when the words left her mouth she knew she'd messed up. Violetta knew her big mouth would get her in trouble eventually; and there it was. She said he was too good for her. Well, so much for keeping her air of confidence. She raised a hand and rubbed the back of her neck, looking away from him sheepishly as he smirked at her and asked his question. He clearly didn't think she meant it, and it made that ball in her chest tighten right back up again. She chewed her lip as he continued to talk. She blinked as he asked if he used the word right and she had to laugh, closing her eyes before glancing over to him and a small, genuine but almost bitter smile flickered across her face. " Yeah, you did use it right," a pause in her words before she exhaled. " But...no, I'm not joking with you." she knew her walls were down, the fact that he was getting such honest answers out of her was a rarity for anyone who knew her. Even her uncle never got such brutal honesty out of her.

She looked down at the counter again, her hands resting there and tightening slightly. She knew it wasn't like she had committed all those acts of harm her father did. Or ordered people to do. Or demanded of them. But she couldn't help but feel dirty over the fact that he was her flesh and blood father. And now? Now she was taking over his legacy! Sure, she would try to make sure she never became like him, but what if the rumors were true? What if things were so stressful that she lost her mind? That's what she heard of her grandfather, the man that she never knew anything about. All she was told was that he was crazy, and her father forcibly took the throne. She knew that that absolutely could be because her father was power-hungry which it was common knowledge to anyone who knew of him, but it didn't make her feel any better about herself and the fact that she would be coming after him in terms of ruling. She felt like she was going to let everyone down, and that at this point included people she met here. Stefano, Bonnie; hell, even Fane.

She lifted her head up after a moment, her blue eyes stormy as she looked over towards him and smiled weakly, for once since he'd arrived choosing not to mask the emotions running through her head. The anxiety, the dread, the overwhelming guilt. " I'm not joking with you. You are too good for me. Too good to me. I...I don't deserve it." on some level she knew not all of this was true, that she was just emotional, and the hard alcohol was keeping her from hiding it, but she had wanted to be honest with him from now on. " I, s**t, I shouldn't be telling you this. It's not your problem or something I want to put on your shoulders. I just need to be able to handle it on my own, like always." she ran both hands through her hair, closing her eyes before she let out a heavy sigh. She slid her hands back down covering her eyes as she felt her heart pounding harder in her chest. She knew that he might want to leave her, she wouldn't blame him. She was so afraid to lower her hands and realize that he'd left her there alone, but that nagging voice in the back of her head told her again that she'd deserve it if he did.

After a moment she finally slowly slid her hands down, her eyes forward before shifting slightly to the side before widening. Wait, he hadn't left? " You're still here...." she murmured, her voice exposing the absolute surprise that she felt.

                                                                            WHO WITH: Stefano

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'
The time for jokes was over, and it was time for seriousness. Stefano had started to experience this once before with Bonnie, but their night had led to some things that he knew it was best not to mention to Violetta. This woman was finally looking at him, seeing him. He didn’t want to ruin it by talking about someone else. Even though he knew she knew about them to some extent, it was important for him to give her these private moments. She deserved that and so much more.

It was fair for her to say that they might not be the most storybook couple, given she had recently stabbed him, but that was water under the bridge. In another timeline, the two of them might have been battling against each other, and he was under a spell, so she had no choice but to harm him. In fact, it was her swift motion that led to him being able to wake up, so if anything, he should be more indebted to her! She was a beautiful woman who was just trying to get by Stefano was the one trying to drag her into his nonsense.

Now, her hands were covering her gorgeous blue eyes, but why? Stefano was sure she hadn’t done anything wrong. This was something he remembered doing when he was a child, trying to hide away from the rest of the world. Thinking about it would have been humorous to think about given how large he was, but this was Violetta. There was no reason for her to be this upset. Still, Stefano was left speechless, unsure of what to do to help her feel better.

His impulses were telling him to hold her close, but was that what she wanted? The only physical interaction that had happened between them was when he had licked the blood off their lips, but there was a mutual silent agreement to not bring up the events that happened in history class that day. But he couldn’t help it; Stefano wanted to be closer to her, to help her hide if that’s what she wanted.

Stefano had just started to stretch out his arms for her to come in when she opened her eyes. Did she really think he was going to run off somewhere? The bar was so unbelievably low that Stefano couldn’t comprehend it. " Of course I’m here. Did you think so low of me that I would just leave you alone here?" His insecurity was getting the better of him here but the duke wanted to prove to her that he was someone that you could rely on. The idea of her needing him was something he never imagined wanting, but the blonde wasn’t willing to let her go.

Standing up from his seat, he attempted to close the gap between them even more, " Come here, I’ll help you hide your tears." He whispered, his arms still outstretched and ready for her. It didn’t look like she had been crying but Stefano was sure she was a cute crier like Bonnie was and had no need to hide anything. But an excuse to hold her was not something he was going to pass up by any means.

Violetta felt her eyes widen further at his first immediate question. No, no he wasn't the problem. She was. Like she always had been for those who got close to her. She opened her mouth to say something before he moved, and she quickly snapped it shut as he offered his arms out. Tears? Was she crying? She raised one hand up and touched her cheek, not feeling anything wet. The idea of a hug though was comforting. One thing that she hadn't really gotten all these years. Even her own mother had told her that she had to be strong. And while now, on a more conscious level she understood that it was for her own good, to survive in the surroundings that were the Shahiti royal house; it still didn't make her feel any better. Now though, here she was with someone who she had just met since upon arrival to the school, someone she had bonded with but also had inflicted pain upon even if it wasn't real. She had fully expected him to hate her after her instinctive reaction to stab him while they were trapped in that hallucination, but he didn't. He was worried about her, offering to shield her from the others who might judge her for becoming emotional. For a moment she had frozen, before she turned on the stool and without thinking she had wrapped her arms back around him, her forehead pressed against his shoulder. She squeezed her eyes shut as she felt his arms around her back.

Was this what it felt like to be loved?

She swore she felt the beginnings of tears forming but even as she willed them back it didn't work, the warmth of his arms made her go a little soft, something she knew would be the end of her anywhere else. With anyone else. Her hands gripped the back of his jacket as she took a moment to get herself calmed down a little bit, she needed to get herself together, and she needed to do so yesterday. Coming from a family with three children, one would think she'd have known about familial love at least. Sure, she was working on that bond with her brother, Cass, but her other brother had feelings for her, but she wasn't certain it was love. On the same level, her uncle was close to her, but they were both so bound by the rules set by her father that it was hard to make much of it. So, to actually feel that someone cared and was able to show it made her feel weak at this point. She knew just staying silent was no good, and after one more shallow breath she opened her mouth to speak again. " It's not you...it's never been you." she whispered, her voice strained for what was usually heard from the put-together princess. " I'm not used to relying on others, the moment I start to lose it...they'd leave." she trailed off but finished the thought in her head, ' Including my own mother...' and she knew it wasn't her mother's choice, but she had to survive as well. The king put a lot of strain on everyone.

The next words out of her mouth came without thought, the warmth surrounding her and the fact that she could hear the steady beating of his heart almost calmed her. " It's a lot of pressure...a lot more than I have ever admitted to anyone." as she loosened her arms, she slowly opened her eyes, a low self-deprecating laugh left her. " It's pretty sad for the next in line for the throne to feel this bad about themselves, huh?" for a few beats she tried to pull herself back together before she sucked in a sharp breath. Wait, what had she just admitted? s**t. She slowly sat up a little bit more, almost afraid to meet his gaze. She'd just indirectly, no, pretty directly, admitted that she was a royal. And not only that, but next in line. That was the express thing she didn't want to do tonight. She didn't completely pull her hands back, but they rested against his chest lightly as she hesitantly glanced up to him to see what his reaction was.

                                                                            WHO WITH: Stefano

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'
The pressure of her hands closing holding him against her was all Stefano needed to affirm he was doing the right thing. He wasn’t much of an expert in dealing with upset women but his moment with Bonnie had taught him a thing or two, he doubted what Violetta wanted was for him to start stripping. Through this conversation he was learning the true differences between the two. He preferred these moments where he got to see their true selves over their tough exterior.

The temptation to cut tension with a joke or small comment was strong but the urge to find a way to actually help was stronger. There had to be something he could do to assist her self-doubt. Unless he was somehow the cause. Had he broken her heart all those times he had called her the wrong name? How could he claim to love her when he didn’t even know her name? What a fool he was.

Thankfully her words cut the silence, allowing him to wrap his arms around her more securely. It wasn’t him that was a fault for her tears. Or so she claimed, Stefano wouldn’t put it past her to lie in order to protect his feelings. Her whisper was hard to hear over the music in the bar, but it was enough for the blond to understand who was truly at fault here. Rubbing her back, he listened as best as he could while brainstorming what he could do to show her he wasn’t planning on going anywhere.

Her hands released from his back as she gave her final confessions, something Stefano hadn’t been expecting at all. The conversation with Bonnie had led him to understand they were all under some form of pressure but hearing Violetta admit to the same was unbearable. He wasn’t ready to let her go until he knew he could help shoulder her burdens. Her laughter was something he could recognize immediately as a matter of coping and masking. He was the expert of hiding your missteps from others in the form of comedy.

It was what was said after her laugh that left Stefano taken aback. ' Next in line for what now?' The equation was simple and only meant one thing but if she was a Princess what on heaven’s plane was, she doing here with him? Crying in his arms, for what? There was no way Stefano could ever understand the pressures someone of her standing was under. It was hard enough for him to understand when she was a potential duchess humoring him, but a princess. It just didn’t make any sense.

" D-did you say, next in line?" Stefano’s arms became rocks as they stayed firmly on her back, as he was scared to move them anywhere else for fear of upsetting a ******** princess. Any misstep would surely result in him losing his title. He was ill-prepared to deal with someone of this caliber. Sonia and Pascha were his friends but only because they came from the same region as him. Violetta was someone who had swept him away from the very moment of their meeting. It shouldn’t have been a surprise she was a princess, but it was.

Gods, there were so many better things he could have said. Why was he so concerned about her title when it was her that he cared about? How swallow of him to treat her differently because of it. ” Even Princesses have bad days; you’re allowed to be upset. You’re allowed to feel stressed. Keeping it in will just lead to something negative building up inside you." His arms loosened up around her, letting them fall to his side so he could just focus on her upset face, this wasn’t the place for them to have this discussion. " We should go."
